Letter from the Chairman

Hello Carolina Catholic Family.

With Advent halfway through and Christmas within view, how is this season of preparation working for you?

I’ve discovered that despite the hustle bustle of the secular season, a proactive intentional Season of Advent is still possible. Between Daily Mass and the wonderful parish events that are on the calendar, we have plenty of opportunities to balance our daily lives and prepare ourselves for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This past week we were busy preparing with Belmont Abbey College to launch our initial Spring Semester Carolina Catholic Media Internship program and a Carolina Catholic Media Club in their extra-curricular activities department.

As we approach our third anniversary (1/31/19) and the launch of PROJECT 22, we believe the need for a local Catholic Radio Voice and multi-platform outlet has never been more important. We are committed to share our PROJECT 22 mission and vision with you and always want to know what’s on your mind. Please contact me anytime with your ideas, questions, and suggestions. Here’s another look at what’s included in PROJECT 22:

Diocese of Charlotte 50^th Anniversary / Synod / Eucharistic Congress - Ongoing 6 Platform Promotion
K-12 Media Initiative: Target media programs and field trips for 4^th, 7^th , 10^th grades
Belmont Abbey Initiative: Extra-curricular Student Media Club, Accredited Student Media Internships
Vocations Communications Initiative: Intentional religious and secular vocation awareness including coverage of discernment opportunities for all ages
Homes of Discernment Radio Program - featuring parents of students pursuing religious life
The Fifth Year Initiative – targeting non-committed students interested in religious vocations
Home School Radio Program – A support program for home school parents
Teen Life Radio Program - Looking for hosts from our parishes to lead roundtable discussions
Young Adult Radio Program - Looking for hosts to lead discussions on how to have a proactive parish life
Women’s Health Radio Program – host to be announced soon
Pro-Life Radio Program – With the Mississippi decision pending and the potential Repeal of Roe, we have a great opportunity to promote the PRO-LIFE movement in a whole new environment

In closing, as you make your year-end giving decisions, please keep Carolina Catholic Media in prayerful consideration as we attempt to cover the costs of everything I’ve shared with you in PROJECT 22.
