#9 Q&Q — What Health Habit Would You Change?

Welcome to Episode 9 of Between The Ears, host Arnold Beekes’ Q&Q format designed to help listeners unlock and use their own uniqueness. This episode’s question asks listeners to identify one health-related habit, whether it’s food, drink, sleep, or even the people they spend time with daily, that they’d like to change, starting small rather than aiming for a big overhaul. Arnold pairs it with a quote on the danger of comparison: ”If you care what other people think, you will become the same. You will never raise beyond,” unpacking how constant comparison, especially through social media, caps us at merely matching others rather than embracing our own uniqueness.

Ep 9 Between the Ears Q&Q
Welcome, I'm Arnold Bekus and this is the question and quote version of the Between the Ears podcast. The goal of this podcast is to enable you to unleash and use your uniqueness. The question, what habit related to health would you like to change? I know that most of our lives would not be possible without habits.

So habits are really a crucial part in our living. But now I'm talking about habits related to your health. So it can be the food you eat, what you drink, how you sleep.

Maybe even the people you deal with on a daily basis. That has an impact on your emotional health. So what is a habit that you would like to change? And it doesn't have to be a big thing, it can be small.

Just start with a small step and start identifying what that habit is. And then change it and replace it with a better habit. So what is your habit related to health that you would like to change? The quote, if you care what other people think, you will become the same.

You will never raise beyond. What does it mean? That if we compare ourselves with other people. And it's something which a lot of people are doing on a daily basis.

I would say even on an hourly basis. Where you compare yourself with other people. It can be in a team meeting at work.

It can be in your sports team. It can be at home, you compare yourself with your siblings. Or you compare with your neighbors.

And especially this is happening with social media. Where we compare ourselves with other people who are, between quotes, successful. Who have nice holidays, they just bought new shoes or new jewelry.

Or they bought a new car. Or they look so great. Or they have a house with a swimming pool.

But that means you're comparing yourself to other people. Whereas I would like you to understand that you are unique. So if you care what other people think, you will become the same.

Because, well you hope you will become the same. Which in most cases won't happen at all. So don't care what they think.

Because if you care what they think. Then the maximum level what you can reach. Is to be the same as those people.

But you are unique. You should treasure your uniqueness. And then you can go beyond.

Because you are the only person in the world with your uniqueness. And remember, we need your uniqueness. Be a better maker.

For yourself. For others. For the world.
