It's spring and the people of the world are breaking out their brooms to clear house!
Viktor Orbán, the now thankfully former Dick-tator of Hungary and poster child of success of the Global Right's authoritarian push of the last 10 -15 years, has been soundly defeated by his centre-right rival Péter Magyar, Leader of Tisza party, after Hungarians (tired of his corruption) sent him packing by giving his rivals the supermajority of seats it needed to be able to amend the Constitution and turn Hungary back to a European-facing nation rather than a Putin-facing one.
When added to the blow the good people of Canada dealt to our own right in recent by-elections, is this the beginning of the pendulum swinging back to global democracy and decency?
