With great fanfare, the Alberta UCP introduces a new, allegedly secure, identity card that links your driver's license, to your health data, to your citizenship status.
Sounds super convenient... Until you remember that these are the very same people who JUST proved they couldn't "secure" the province's list of electors (and is apparently not motivated by any sense of urgency or concern about it) that has left 3 million of their constituents vulnerable to identify theft.
Mr. Beaver looks at a pattern of political parties behaving like private organizations, not first serving the public interest, and frequently going out of their way to exclude themselves from scrutiny and accountability, and this at the expense of your privacy and safety.
He also looks at some public opinion information from Ipso about how our fellow Canadians living in Alberta feel about how politicians use their personal data.
