We were attacked and we are at war
After a short moment, Prime Minister Mark Carney addressed the nation around 11:00 a.m., Eastern time, Saturday morning, to talk to us about why it is he suspended trade talks with United States and start to prepare us for what is to come
Based on his words and reporting sense, it would appear that part of the art of the deal on this one was to attempt to engineer through the back door, that which it could not do through the front: eliminate Canada's sovereignty either by annexing us; making of us a vassal state; seizing control of our decision-making levers, or performing some type of hostile corporate takeover of our government.
We will show and analyze his address, and talk about a lot of the response from premiers, stakeholder leadership, and even the world.
The importance of this moment is not lost upon us.
For the third time now, Canada has decided to stick its neck out and show the world what must be done; this time, will it follow?
