Better than expected economic performance resulted in a bonus $60 billion popping into the budget.
Some of it was already spoken for with the groceries and essentials rebate and the cut to the excise tax on gas, but the liberals managed to beat their deficit projection by about $11 billion.
Of course that particular success, and that some of it was shared with Canadians to help them with affordability, displeased Conservatives (who don't appear to know what they stand for anymore, other than getting your data and donations).
