Zara D’Cotta is a Building Biology New Build Consultant (BBNC) and Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist (EMRS), specialising in healthy building materials, moisture-aware design and electromagnetic radiation considerations in residential construction.
She works with builders, designers and building product manufacturers across Australia and internationally, helping bridge the gap between building science, environmental health and construction practice.
Her work focuses on translating complex health and material considerations into practical, buildable strategies that reduce liability risk and improve long-term performance in new homes.
She holds dual certification through the Building Biology Institute (USA) and is part of a small group of practitioners globally to hold both BBNC and EMRS certifications, integrating EMF awareness with moisture control, ventilation and material health into mainstream building practice.
Zara is the founder of The Healthy Home, providing education and advisory support to the building industry to deliver healthier homes, and is a keynote speaker working with industry organisations and professionals across the sector.
