Clare Conroy

Clare's interest in building a home started way back in Year 9 when she designed a house for a science project - complete with off-grid electricity and composting toilets!

A move from Canberra to the Fleurieu Peninsula at the end of 2019 gave her the chance to turn that dream into reality. In 2021, she commenced a project to design and build a new home, working collaboratively with a local designer and 35 South Building Co.

The relationship Clare built with 35 South during her own build led to a natural next chapter - she has since joined the team, focusing on business processes, project management, and client engagement. Passionate about supporting others to build intentional, values-aligned homes, she regularly shares what's she's learning about the residential construction sector in her email newsletter, The Build Notebook. Clare is now also about to commence a Certificate IV in Building and Construction, deepening her technical knowledge to complement her hands-on experience in the industry.
