41: Mark Rutherford & The State of the Union

Episode 41 features Mark Rutherford. An attorney from Indianapolis, he serves as the chairman of the Indiana Public Defender Commission, appointed by the Governor. Mark recently announced that he is a candidate for Secretary of State. We discuss the issues that the Secretary of State and how electing a Libertarian would make a difference in that office. Sitting in the guest chair is Chris Guffey, who was one of the earliest super fans of the Boss Hog of Liberty podcast. Chris’s claims to fame are being a veteran, and was one of the first to climb the infamous mosquito hill last summer. Mike Crider represents Hancock County and portions of Marion and Shelby County Indiana. He recently was a candidate for the 6th Congressional district. Mike worked a career with the Indiana (Department of Natural Resources) and retired after 30 years. Token socialist Darrin Jacobs makes his triumphant appearance on the program again. Everyone takes the Advocates world’s smallest political quiz. Clay turns out to be a libertarian. We focused on Jim Lucas’s recent proposal for licensing the 1st amendment in Indiana, using the same language as is in place for the 2nd amendment. The guys discussed and update in Indiana hunting regulations which accidentally banned rifles on public ground for this upcoming deer season. It is noted that Phyllis Klosinski tried to warn everyone about this possibility when we had a ballot question about hunting in the last election. Episode 25 is a celebratory episode of Boss Hog of Liberty! The silver anniversary show. Jeremiah Morrell and Dakota Davis are joined by the most listened to guest in the history of the show, Cat Anagnos. Audrey Jo Peavie was scheduled to join us but called in sick at the last moment. Jeremiah’s baby brother Danny Morrell got off the couch and joined in progress. The cast discussed their weekend camping trip, a possible tattoo for Jeremiah if the listeners love us enough, and the incredible Garth Brooks concert experience. Danny arrives and Dakota has him locked out. Danny scales a fence, gun in hand and tries to break in during the show. Dakota reports on a story involving a Watermelon and some firefighters in Detroit. Episode 23 of the Boss Hog of Liberty Podcast is our long awaited episode with City Councilman Aaron Dicken. Jeremiah Morrell and Dakota Davis are joined by regular co-host Clay Morgan. Aaron started things off on the right foot, by bringing a gift for the new studio. Dakota spends most of his time beating councilman Dicken into accepting that by merely showing up at a city council meeting, he got the council do drop the hated smoking ban.
