Autolink: automatically create internal links across your site

Internal links help search engines crawl your site, understand how pages relate to each other, and identify which content is most important. Autolink builds those links for you: set a focus keyphrase on a page, and Podpage automatically links that phrase back to the page wherever it appears across your site.

Available on the Elite plan. Autolink is currently in beta.

How to turn on Autolink

  1. In your dashboard, go to Search Optimization → Autolink.
  2. Turn on Enable Auto Internal Links.
  3. Click Save.

Once enabled, the Autolink page lists every keyphrase on your site and the page it links to, so you can see exactly what Autolink is doing.

How Autolink works

  • You set a focus keyphrase on an episode, blog post, or custom page as part of your normal editing workflow.
  • Podpage scans your site for that phrase and automatically links it back to the original page wherever it appears.
  • Links update automatically as your content changes, and new pages are included as soon as they're published.

To keep pages readable, Autolink links each phrase only once per page and caps the total number of automatic links on any page.

Choosing good keyphrases

  • Pick phrases that clearly match the main topic of the page.
  • Avoid broad phrases that appear all over your site.
  • Set keyphrases on the pages you most want to promote.
