Before your website can show up in search results, Google has to index it. The fastest way to make that happen is to tell Google about your site directly through Google Search Console.
How to get your site indexed
- Sign up for Google Search Console — it's free.
- Add your website and verify that you own it. See verifying your Podpage with Google Search Console for step-by-step instructions.
- Submit your sitemap. Podpage creates one automatically at yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. In Search Console, go to Sitemaps, enter your sitemap URL, and click Submit.
Indexing isn't instant — it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for Google to crawl and list your pages.
How to check if your site is indexed
Go to google.com and search for site:yourwebsite.com (replace yourwebsite.com with your actual domain). If pages appear, your site is indexed.
Tip: If Search Console reports pages that aren't indexed, see Google Search Console indexing errors for what those messages mean and what to do about them.
