The Difficult Second Blog Post.

The Difficult Second Blog Post.

You spend weeks, maybe longer like me. :-) preparing the first blog post. Finally, I had put my first blog post to bed when an awful feeling struck me like hard truths do...now I have to write another one and another one and so on and so on.

Like has been said before, when in doubt write about what you are certain of.

When I started with this series of podcasts, I expected to hear a lot of similar stories. While there are some very familiar themes among episodes, I must say there have been lots of surprises.

There are too many wonderful stories to highlight everyone. As I noted in my debut blog post, people have been incredibly generous with their time considering the demands on many of them with their current going concern.

Reflecting on the first 25 episodes I can’t say I really had an expectation about what I would find when I started talking to these folks about being an entrepreneur. It was oblivious that I would need all my sales training and experience to convince folks to join a podcast, especially when I didn’t have one yet.

Throughout the first 25 episodes of the podcast, I have heard some amazing things…. everything from business owners who shared their near-death experiences to the entrepreneurs who wish they had more patience in the past but almost without fail they all rely heavily on the moral or emotional support from their loved ones, their family.

Jim Estill shared with us what he believes is the secret to finding happiness in our second episode when he explained how the refugees, he has sponsored have taught him this lesson. Warren Werbitt explained to me why it’s important to fish and Deep Mehta shared the heartbreaking story of having to close his business during the pandemic.

Lee St James told us the story of starting her social enterprise “Social Robots” which aims to have a positive impact on an aging population through the use of social robots and applications for these platforms, Kate Teves, The HR Pro shared with us the story of arriving in Canada as a teenager to being a successful "Mompreneur" and Alec Saunders joins the show to discuss stepping away from his own business and how proud he remains of the business today.

Another entrepreneur, Jamie Kozub tells us about how confidence and an ability to close a deal lead him from the sales floor to the store owner, a travelling troubadour, James Gray explains why sometimes it’s more important to write a great email than a great song and Motorsports Hall of Famer Alex Tagliani describes how he drove his friends and partners crazy with his idea for an indoor go cart park.

My guests have been generous with both their time and their thoughts and opinions. Please follow for the stories and keep listening to the passion my guests bring.

Thanks to everyone for the support. It means a lot.
