Something You Should Know

Listener Reviews

Here’s SYSK
This podcast is fantastic! I listen to a plethora of podcasts, each in a different niche. Something I appreciate about SYSK is that Mike doesn't cover just one topic in each episode; he discusses a variety of topics. I've learned so much from listening. I find myself only listening to this show the majority of the time.
Fav
Podcast, really good has great info and just like the whole show, really interesting and good.
Uhhh
Did he just delete the episode he posted.?
Love this podcast
Learning so much and it’s short and to the point
So glad this podcast was recommended to me!
It’s been about a year of consistent listening now for me and I truly love it. A great podcast to put on as I commute, get housework done, etc., even a good motivator to get out of bed and get moving in the morning (as someone with ADHD). So many interesting AHA moments and great conversation topics to have in your back topic too! Also, I love Mike’s voice and that can really make or break a podcast for me even when I love the topics.

I’m 11 years old and I think that this podcast is the best.
SCHNOZ
Mike, these Bonus Episodes, so far, are horrid! The Guests don’t know what they’re talking about and have nutty ideas!I think they are taking us ALL for a ride!!Stop them now, before the Show turns into a joke!!Do It, David R. Moss, MD
Love this
Nice positive generally politics free podcast that makes wonderful break from all the crazy in the world!
Mike NEVER disappoints!
As a podcast addict, this is in my weekly rotation and I learn something new every episode.
Always makes you wondering….
Every episode brings something new. It’s not repetitive, always informative, and genuinely makes you think. One of the few podcasts where I feel like I’m learning something every time I listen.
Something Stuff
The something versus stuff debate in this comment section is hilarious. in case you didn’t know….there are 1 billion podcast out there and both of these are valid and good
One of my favorite podcasts!
Mike selects interesting subjects and is a great interviewer. Soothing voices, not shrill, very important!
Love listening and learning
This podcast always has interesting tidbits and often helpful tips to make life easier. Thanks! Elizabeth
Very good
I try to wait a while before writing a review because it is easy to get caught in the novelty of something you just discovered. After several years of listening to SYSK, i can honestly say it is my favorite podcast. The guests and topics are interesting, but above all Mike doesn’t just nod and move along. He dares to challenge the guests when what they say seems off or like blanket statements. He asks uncomfortable questions to make sure the guests don’t just feed us “their” truth. The segments are just 20min which is the right length to stay captivating and not too long. If you’re new, know that Mike has 2 obsessions: the expression “when your number is up, your number is up”, and people who take too long to pick a dish on a menu ahaha and that is why i love him. Thank you, Mike.
Awesome Podcaat
I spend more time listening to this podcast and all my other ones put together. The host is insightful and an excellent interviewer. He’s always asking the questions that I would ask if I was present. The people he interviews are always interesting and I really enjoy listing to their explanation of the fact he is interviewing them for. I also really like the fact that, unlike the Something You Should Know podcast, he never comments in such a way that reveals his political inclination. I’m just here to listen and get facts not to try and have my political belief swayed by a commentator. Mike Carruthers does not do that and I appreciate it.
Excellent information
This podcast is very informative, the guests are of high quality and Mike makes great questions. This is one of the best podcasts I found
Love listening and learning
This podcast about optimism was interesting, but a cild norm into wealth and prestige as did Elon Musk, is radically going to have differing self and world views of optimism than a child born and raised in squalor or war time or just being born a working class person in America, where opportunity today is limited. Economics still colors optimism or its lack thereof. Thanks! Elizabeth
Something/Stuff
The shows are very different. Something has one host and two guests and is more interview driven and Stuff has two hosts and no guests and is more banter/talk driven. I like them both. Btw, Something You Should Know was on the radio long before Stuff ever started so no rip off there.
Mike, Thank you again
Specifically, thank you for the fabulous directions for sleeping with a cold. You always have so many used tips for sleep!Ali Schuback
Informative
Such interesting and informative topics!
FUN & mind fulfilling podcast!
LOVE this podcast!! So much neat little factoids in short little segments! Don’t have to listen to the entire episode to get a little dose of insight and knowledge!!
Mike, always great! Thank you again
That is a great show. I’ve learned so many tricks from you.. (just FYI I enjoy the Jordan harbinger show also).Ali Schuback
Fascinating episode on AI
The podcast on ‘How to Make Better Use of AI’ opened up a whole new world for me. Thank you for choosing such practical and insightful topics—exactly what I needed to learn! 😉
Ripped off. SYSK” from stuff you should know podcast!
I don’t understand how you could rip off my favorite all time podcast.
