Write An Essay For SA And Call It Justice
We speak plainly about the Cornell 7 case and why calling rape “one night” is a way to protect men instead of confronting harm. We defend the idea that consent is simple, intoxication removes consent, and accountability is the only path that respects survivors.
• Naming the Cornell 7 and rejecting minimized consequences
• Stating clearly that intoxication means no consent
• Calling out institutional failures by the university and the DA
• Challenging bystander silence and fraternity culture
• Sharing the long tail of sexual assault trauma from a survivor’s view
• Arguing prevention means raising boys with self-control and respect
• standing with Jane Doe while protecting her privacy
• inviting disagreement while holding the line on accountability

Why We Are Talking About This
SPEAKER_00
Hey everyone, it's Kat York, and welcome back to the Recovery Callus Podcast. Today I'm going to be talking about the Cornell 7. So if that's something you don't want to hear about or listen to, then you know I would pause and stop here because as long as I have a microphone and a voice, I'm going to talk about it.
The Allegations And The Names
SPEAKER_00
So the scumbags in his case names are Matthew Ingalls, Jonathan Newell, Winston Lee, Gilead Lopez, Diego Sarabia, Scott Norris, Scott Kreshmer. These are the seven men, two of which were expelled. The other five had to write essays for raping a young lady for seven hours. Now I'm gonna be clear, I don't care if she walked into that frat house, drunk off her ass, naked. She couldn't consent. She couldn't consent. That means it's rape. Okay,
Consent, Intoxication, And Ketamine
SPEAKER_00
that means it's rape. And that little slug who sent out the text saying free pussy should be charged with human trafficking. Now all these people coming forward saying, Oh, we don't want to ruin these boys' lives over one night. If the consequences to their actions ruin their lives, then it was their choice. They all made choices that night. Okay, and same with all the other stumbags in that frat house. They made choices to let it happen. They could have called the cops, they could have said something, they could have stopped it. They did not. Are these the type of men that we want in our society? Working in our hospitals, in our banks, in our police stations? Is this the kind of men that we want raising other men? No. No, the standard has been set so low, the bar is so low. This girl could have died. Ketamine. Look up the effects of ketamine of what it can do. You can be in a deeply hypnotic state, be aware of what's going on, and not be able to stop it. That's not funny. There's nothing amusing about this. Nothing
Cornell And The DA Under Fire
SPEAKER_00
funny about this. And Cornell University needs to be burned to the ground. Alright, that DA. I heard his little interview. Why was confined to the restraints of the law? No, you just didn't give a shit. You just didn't give a shit. Alright, same with the university. They just didn't care. I mean, I am so tired of this. I am so tired of hearing about women being raped, not being believed. I mean, when does it end, people? When does it stop? You know, women's bodies are not meant to just be playgrounds. They're not playgrounds, okay? No is a complete sentence, and that should be the end of a story if anyone says no. If it's no, it's no and you stop. And if they're drunk and under the influence, you don't even ask, you don't even attempt. It's a no. Now these assholes need to be prosecuted and they need to be on the registry for the rest of their life. Because what happened to that young girl will follow her for the rest of her life. She was well within her rights to bring out a lawsuit. She tried to get justice, nobody listened to her. Nobody believed her. So now she took it to the next step, as she should. I'm sure she didn't want to go this far. She dropped out of college. You think this is the direction she wanted her life to go
Survivor Reality And Lasting Trauma
SPEAKER_00
in? No. We've all been drunk. We've all made poor choices. But you know what? There was a frat house full of boys who could have done the right thing, the responsible thing, who could have said something, done something, and they chose not to. That was a choice too by all those 50, 60 scumbags in that frat house. And I am so tired of the frat house mentality. Oh, which you know what happens there. Then shut it the fuck down. If that's what's happening at these frat houses, shut it down. If this is what's happening at college universities, which obviously it is, then shut it all down. All right. This is not what we should be teaching our young men. This is not the men we should be raising. This is not the type of men that should be in our societies. I mean, I have a son. I have a son. He knows how to respect women. He knows what no means. For the love of God. Can we can it can it just stop? I mean, the president of Cornell, he needs to be fired. All right. And the DA, I saw his little interview. I am so tired of this. You know, I'm not one for an eye for an eye. But at this point, it feels like that's the only way the message is going to be received. And I know that goes past justice. It goes into vengeance. But for so long, women have not even had the rights to their own body. And I'm not talking about abortion here. I'm simply talking about rape. Our bodies are not there for your entertainment. Okay? Consent is consent, and no is no, and it is just that fucking simple. Alright, there is no room for anyone to give consent when they are intoxicated. I am the survivor of sexual assault, as I mentioned. That goes with me every single day. I don't just forget about it. And the scumbags who did it to me, they got away. The authorities didn't care. Alright, I have to live with that knowing that they're out there. They could be harming someone else. You don't think that goes to Miss Jane Doe's line, too? On top of everything else? She has to live with that. And then these scumbags just move out with their lives like nothing happened. How do we know they haven't done it again since then? How do we know this was the first time? How do we know it was the last time? We don't know. We don't know. That's why you do investigations. There was no proper investigation done. Alright? And when it comes to Jane Doe, we don't need to know her identity. We're not going to be sharing that online. Okay, we're not going to be talking about her. Her identity is going to be kept private because she deserves that. Okay, they don't deserve that. They don't deserve that. They deserve all the heat that's coming on them because they got away with one of the most heinous crimes. They raped someone who was unconscious and couldn't consent, and they were proud of that. They were proud of that. And I've seen all these posts all over Facebook and these good old boy groups like defending these, you know, just pillars of society. And go coming down on this poor girl. You know, this is just beyond sad and disturbing and disgusting.
What Real Prevention Looks Like
SPEAKER_00
And I can't say it enough. We have to do better as a side society. We have to raise our men better. You know, we have to raise our men better. The answer isn't teaching our women to defend themselves more. The answer isn't teaching them to not go out and have a drink with their friends. The answer isn't teach them to wear a longer skirt. The answer is teaching boys self-control. Teaching them respect. All right, teaching them that a woman's body is not there for their amusement. Okay? If these scumbags can't control their impulses, they should not be in society. End of story. Alright, burn all of Cornell to the fucking ground. Close all the frat houses. It shouldn't have taken a lawsuit to get to this point. They should have been handled differently from day one. Alright? These slugs, these parasites, do not belong in society. They don't. Rape has just become something that's just been talked about like it's an everyday thing. Like it's no big deal. It's a very big fucking deal. Alright? It's a very big fucking deal. That girl could have died. What about the long-lasting mental and emotional and physical effects of what she went through? What about that? All these people out there defending these pieces of trash. Alright? And I know my language is very colloquial right now, but there's no other way to be about it right now because as a woman, I'm tired of it. I've had my body objectified. I've had my body assaulted. So I know what it's like. I know what that does to you spiritually, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, the panic attacks, the nightmares, the flashbacks. It gets better, but it doesn't ever leave you. And we need to do better. We need to do better by our boys, and we need to do better by our girls. And women need to start being believed. Investigations actually need to happen. Alright, well, why didn't she say something sooner? Why was she wearing that? It doesn't matter what she was fucking wearing. If she came forward and said she was assaulted, she deserved a proper investigation. End of story. End of story, full stop, hard stop.
Standing With Jane Doe
SPEAKER_00
Alright, I stand with Jane Doe, and I don't know if she'll ever hear this, probably not, but sweetheart, I really hope that you are able to come out the other side of this. And I really hope that you're getting the help that you need, whatever that looks like for you. You have millions and millions of women standing behind you, and men standing behind you, supporting you. And we are gonna keep this front and center until justice is served for you. And we are gonna keep talking about it after that because this is not an isolated incident. It happens way too often. It is so underreported. So wherever you are, Jane Doe, like I'm thinking about you, I'm praying for you, and I really, really hope that you find the peace that you so deserve and the justice that you deserve. I really hope that the wrongs are righted to the best that they can be, and that these pieces of shit go to jail. And this follows them forever. And I hope, I hope you find someone good in your life. I really do that will take care of you and be there for you and support you through the hard times. And I hope you come out the other end stronger. And I hope you know that it was never your fault. Because I know you're probably getting a lot of messages and you're probably seeing all the media all over. Ignore it. Ignore it. These seven want to be in the spotlight. Well, let's give it to them. Alright, they wanna they want to be big men. Well, you know, let's see how they fare up in this in this uh this investigation now. Alright, I'm with you, I stand with you, and so do so many other women.
Tell Me What You Think
SPEAKER_00
And I'd love to hear what everyone else's thoughts are on this case. If you disagree with me, that's fine. I welcome that. Um, I welcome it. But in my world, there is no room for rape, and they need to be held accountable for their actions. I'm so tired of people being allergic to accountability. And that's all I gotta say on that. So let me know what you think in the comments or email me. Links in the show notes.
