00:01:03.326 --> 00:01:08.361
So let's get in, let's get into it, let's get into it.
00:01:08.361 --> 00:01:12.468
So it's Wednesday stuff.
00:01:12.468 --> 00:01:17.022
You know we're going to get into right into this podcast and make it happen.
00:01:17.022 --> 00:01:21.849
This cold is trying to come at me and I am not giving in.
00:01:21.849 --> 00:01:23.350
I am not giving in.
00:01:23.350 --> 00:01:25.313
So here we are.
00:01:25.394 --> 00:01:36.504
We're back to another episode of Hunter, wellness Wednesdays and we're going to do this Wellness Wednesdays to get you guys all educated about some vitamins.
00:01:36.504 --> 00:01:49.004
This is a time where, yes, last week we talked about self-care and this week I really want to talk about some vitamins that will help you with self-care and a lot of us.
00:01:49.004 --> 00:02:06.280
We have all of these myths around vitamins, so I'm just going to talk about two very important ones today that, with this flu season upon us and it's not going to be nice guys so do what you need to do to get yourself and keep yourself safe this winter.
00:02:06.280 --> 00:02:15.022
So let's dive deep into these two key vitamins that'll make a huge difference in your daily health and well-being.
00:02:15.022 --> 00:02:18.953
So they're vitamin d and vitamin b12.
00:02:18.953 --> 00:02:35.212
These vitamins play a powerful role in keeping us energized, boosting our mood because, because you know it's Wednesday, we're trying to get over the hump, the mood is and it also maintains a strong immune system.
00:02:35.212 --> 00:02:51.967
So let's break down why they're so essential, how they work in our daily lives, and which form might be best for you, whether it's supplements or injections, um, so let's start off with vitamin d.
00:02:52.710 --> 00:02:58.259
So vitamin d is known as a sunshine vitamin.
00:02:58.259 --> 00:03:03.693
It's known as sunshine vitamin because that's where you get it from most of the time the sun.
00:03:03.693 --> 00:03:06.269
How many of us are outside in the sun?
00:03:06.269 --> 00:03:14.008
We talked about being outside last week, just kind of going outside and get some of that D in your system, and what a difference it'll make.
00:03:14.008 --> 00:03:23.526
So D helps regulate calcium and phosphate in our body, and this is super important for keeping our bones strong.
00:03:23.526 --> 00:03:31.235
So as we get older, you know, one other good way of keeping your bones strong is to start lifting weights in your daily exercise.
00:03:31.235 --> 00:03:39.974
But also vitamin D has a major impact in our mood and our immune function.
00:03:40.661 --> 00:03:59.793
If you're not getting enough sun or eating enough vitamin D rich foods and some of those foods are like fatty fish you can have your egg yolks and I know a lot of people are into all of this egg white stuff but your vitamin D comes from the egg yolk.
00:03:59.793 --> 00:04:03.050
It also comes from fortified dairy products.
00:04:03.050 --> 00:04:08.552
So what about our sisters and brothers who cannot eat dairy?
00:04:08.552 --> 00:04:11.389
You're not getting the vitamin D there either.
00:04:11.389 --> 00:04:15.070
So you might need to consider a supplement.
00:04:15.070 --> 00:04:18.971
And so this is where it gets down to nitty gritty.
00:04:18.971 --> 00:04:28.764
It's especially important during the winter months, when we tend to stay indoors more and the sun exposure is limited and then the flu season on the rise.
00:04:28.764 --> 00:04:34.321
So if there's a deficiency of vitamin D, it's more common than we think.
00:04:35.843 --> 00:04:42.663
A lot of you guys may go to the doctor and get your blood results and they'll say, oh, you're vitamin D deficient.
00:04:42.663 --> 00:04:43.944
What does that mean?
00:04:43.944 --> 00:05:01.113
So that means that fatigue, that you feel the muscle weakness or even make us feel down emotionally, like you don't know why your mood is so down, why you feel so irritated by everything around you.
00:05:01.113 --> 00:05:06.112
That's your vitamin D being low in most cases.
00:05:06.112 --> 00:05:14.394
That's why getting enough vitamin D can be a simple yet powerful addition to your self-care routine.
00:05:14.394 --> 00:05:26.144
Whether you take a few minutes outside each day or add a supplement to your morning routine or do those extra weights, keep your vitamin d's levels up.
00:05:26.144 --> 00:05:31.999
Keeping it up will help you feel more energized during the day.
00:05:34.023 --> 00:05:43.476
All right, so we're gonna kind of switch places, because there's no one here that I'm by myself again, guys, but it won't be forever, it won't be for long.
00:05:43.476 --> 00:05:43.920
I feel you for long.
00:05:43.920 --> 00:05:45.189
I feel you guys coming in.
00:05:45.189 --> 00:05:46.615
I feel you guys coming in.
00:05:46.615 --> 00:05:51.961
So now let's switch and we're going to talk about vitamin B12.
00:05:51.961 --> 00:05:58.903
So I know everybody's like vitamin B12, vitamin B12.
00:05:58.903 --> 00:05:59.451
It's a big.
00:05:59.451 --> 00:06:02.880
Everybody is trying to get some B12 in the system.
00:06:02.880 --> 00:06:04.750
So, mom, I'm just going to break it down for you.
00:06:05.413 --> 00:06:14.132
So vitamin B12 is crucial for your red blood cell production, your brain function and overall energy level.
00:06:14.132 --> 00:06:49.386
It's found naturally in animal products like meat, your steaks, your for those of you who like goat, your lamb, any kind of red meat really, you're going to get your vitamin B12 from Eggs once again, dairy, and many of us, especially vegetarians, vegans are you're not going to get enough vitamin B12 because you're not going to get it from vegetarian products.
00:06:49.386 --> 00:07:02.735
So a b12 deficiency, though, can lead to serious issues like fatigue, memory problem, you know like you get the brain fog and like what, what?
00:07:02.735 --> 00:07:06.812
I know I was saying something, but you don't remember.
00:07:06.812 --> 00:07:18.238
So, with D missing and B12 missing, you're really going to have a lot of mood swings and you're going to have a lot of memory problems.
00:07:18.238 --> 00:07:25.053
So those are some of the things that you're going to see with your vitamin B12 deficient and your vitamin D deficient.
00:07:25.053 --> 00:07:37.170
So how to incorporate in your daily life so b12 into your life is key, especially if you notice low energy or mental fog.
00:07:37.730 --> 00:07:54.689
If you follow a plant based diet, you might want to consider some B12 supplements or injections to ensure you're getting enough, or you can do the B12 liquid drops on your tongue.
00:07:54.689 --> 00:08:06.086
Right now, it's about getting it in your body, and we're going to break it down a little bit later, like the difference between how you get it in and what route is probably best for you.
00:08:06.086 --> 00:08:16.713
So having the optimal level of B12 can make all the difference in feeling sharp and focused and energized throughout the day.
00:08:16.713 --> 00:08:22.065
You can always visit me at Hunter Wellness and I will take care of you.
00:08:22.065 --> 00:08:26.853
So these are the difference.
00:08:26.853 --> 00:08:29.463
So you have the vitamin B12 injections.
00:08:29.463 --> 00:08:34.390
You can get the vitamin D injections or you can take it orally.
00:08:34.390 --> 00:08:37.075
So this is the difference between the two.
00:08:37.075 --> 00:08:44.953
So if you take it orally vitamins orally and getting them through injections is a big difference.
00:08:44.953 --> 00:08:50.653
Both are effective, though, but they work slightly different.
00:08:51.053 --> 00:09:00.974
Okay, so if you take the vitamin injections, it delivers a vitamin directly into your bloodstream, giving you a faster and more efficient boost.
00:09:00.974 --> 00:09:11.572
It does not have to fight your stomach acids okay, especially those of you who may have absorption issue or need a more immediate effect.
00:09:11.572 --> 00:09:14.001
The injection is definitely for you.
00:09:14.001 --> 00:09:15.043
The injection is definitely for you.
00:09:15.043 --> 00:09:25.231
In fact, people with certain digestive conditions, such as severe deficiency, may benefit from injection more than the oral supplement.
00:09:25.231 --> 00:09:30.495
The oral supplement, on the other hand, they're great because they're not going to hurt.
00:09:30.495 --> 00:09:45.820
You're not going to have that injection prick and you're going to have to take now, a lot more to get the same effect for it to get into your bloodstream because it fights with your stomach acid.
00:09:46.321 --> 00:09:51.291
They're great for maintaining daily levels and preventing deficiency over time.
00:09:51.291 --> 00:10:05.100
They're convenient, but they may not work as quickly and efficiently for everyone, especially those people with absorption nutrient deficience problem.
00:10:05.100 --> 00:10:11.833
So those people who would have absorption issues are people that are older.
00:10:11.833 --> 00:10:23.201
As the older you get, remember, just because, um, you don't feel old.
00:10:23.201 --> 00:10:24.264
Your organs are the age that you are.
00:10:24.264 --> 00:10:30.393
So when you take something, your um peristalsis slows down as you get older.
00:10:31.014 --> 00:10:40.318
So you want to make sure that, um, if you are going to take vitamins, you have to take it every single day.
00:10:40.318 --> 00:10:44.086
Now I know a lot of you have your vitamins stored on your shelf.
00:10:44.086 --> 00:10:46.312
It's in the back of your drawer.
00:10:46.312 --> 00:10:54.561
You keep buying the vitamins because you heard is how good it is, and it's in the drawer and you're not using it.
00:10:54.561 --> 00:11:05.052
So for those type of people, I really recommend that you do the injection or go one step further and get an IV infusion of vitamin B12.
00:11:05.052 --> 00:11:12.716
You can't get it of vitamin D, unfortunately, but B12, definitely you can do it.
00:11:12.816 --> 00:11:24.269
So, ultimately, whether you choose injections, supplement, the drop, the liquid version, take care of your vitamin D and your vitamin B12 level.
00:11:24.269 --> 00:11:28.240
It is a crucial part of your self-care.
00:11:28.240 --> 00:11:31.982
It's not just about avoiding deficiency.
00:11:31.982 --> 00:11:35.285
It's about making sure that you have the energy.
00:11:35.285 --> 00:11:42.230
It's about making sure that you have the energy, the focus and the mood stability to take on each day, feeling your very best.
00:11:42.230 --> 00:11:52.548
Remember, like we said last week stay focused, focus, be in the moment, because you will never have that moment again.
00:11:52.548 --> 00:12:00.568
So, as we wrap up here, I encourage you to think about your own vitamin levels.
00:12:00.568 --> 00:12:09.605
Go to the doctor, get checked, see what your levels are, get enough vitamin D from your sunlight and your diet.
00:12:09.605 --> 00:12:11.697
B12,.
00:12:11.777 --> 00:12:18.725
