The Pursuit of Happiness

Why is happiness the end goal? Do we REALLY want our family, teams, employees to be “happy” or are we really wanting people to feel safe, supported and valued? Happiness is fleeting and easily impacted by outside things and people. Contentment is long term and deeply rooted in self. I’d argue the latter is the greater pursuit.
