May is Mental Health Awareness month and we are honored to be joined by Jenn Carson, a writer, educator, speaker and counselor who specializes in supporting those who have suffered from traumatic events.  As a trauma survivor herself, she has turned her own personal experiences into a foundation of healing, not just for herself, but those around her.  While Jenn’s personal story may be extremely unique, her message is universal: There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.  Forgiveness and self-acceptance may take time but they are attainable and the key to not just surviving, but also thriving.  This is an uplifting conversation about a difficult to navigate subject.

*Jenn Carson is a writer, educator and speaker who addresses issues related to overcoming adversity, building resiliency and increasing self-acceptance. She holds a B.A. from Baylor University and a M.A. in Counseling from George Washington University. On the Hallmark Channel, the Oxygen Network, Investigation Discovery Channel and in Marie Claire Magazine, FabUplus Magazine and People Magazine, Jenn has shared her journey from daughter of a serial killer to stigma-busting advocate. As a trauma survivor, Jenn seeks healing through her passions for reading, writing, gardening and binge-watching sci-fi shows.
