Just brilliant
Ok the Caleb Hearon episode finally pushed me to write a review, but I’ve been deeply in love with this podcast since I started listening a few months ago. Long time fan of Mike, love everything the guy does honestly. I’m an actor and comedian and I’m finally forcing myself to try standup (terrifying, thrilling) after decades of acting, sketch, and improv, so thought I’d check this show out finally. It’s great for comedy tips and insight, but the guests are just interesting in general and the conversations have been so inspiring for work and life. 10/10 recommend. Mike, you’re a treasure.
Get Caleb on here
Have absolutely loved WIO since the beginning. Great guests, many I discovered through the show. Recommendation for a future guest is Caleb Hearon! I sense that the discussion of craft would be so interesting between the two of y’all. It’s his moment right now, get on it, Birbigs team!
Sebastian Maniscalco was so fun
These two have great chemistry. I loved the idea of Sebastian helping Mike get tough on a current domestic issue. Sweet, charming, sometimes hilarious and very honest.
New premium episode was great!
Loved the new experimental episode punching up listener’s jokes. Cool and informative to hear you and the team as if in a writer’s room. Gave me a new perspective on joke writing as a skill — very cool!
For Pete’s sake
While understand your point and I am by no means condemning the parties involved, you attempted to equated cursing with teen pregnancy. One is the inability to hold your tongue, found in the book of James, and the other is a sin, listed in 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians. I am not a fundamentalist Christian, but seriously you are embarrassing yourself.
This podcast is a golden hour for my brain
I love this show. Love Mike’s take, and find it refreshing that he doesn’t have a sidekick, or someone constantly laughing in the background. Well done and entertaining. Thank you!
A Podcast For The People
Mike Bilbiglia delivers a podcast as for both fans of podcasts and comedy. Each guest grabs attention of the followspot. Every week of new episodes is a thrill to experience. Thank you, for taking concern in what musicians, audio engineers, and unpublished book authors may have to impart to you! Thank you, once again! —J.Swiercz
Genuine Conversations
Mike Birbiglia’s interviews feel like personal conversations with a friend. Very engaging.
Favorite podcast!
Working it out is a highlight of my Monday mornings! Always my first podcast listen each week.
Essence of Birbiglis
Episode 170 has a perfect quote about one thing that makes Mike so wonderful: he is always working to improve and has enthusiastic, generous curiosity.
Very fun and insightful!
I love the banter and the peek behind the curtain.
A great way to spend an hour
This show is so pleasant and funny. It’s just delightful!
Favorite Podcast
This has become my new favorite podcast, and I don’t even want to become a stand-up comic! I love Mike Birbiglia’s calm, friendly interactions. He breaks down how to do stand-up and talks to amazing guests and I could just listen all day. My favorites so far are Ira Glass and Fred Armisen.
Love Mike Birbiglia’s podcast Working It Out
I had the pleasure of seeing Mike perform in the East Village years ago with my friend The New York Times reviewer Neil Genzlinger who gave him a rave. I’ve enjoying his live shows ever since! And now the entertaining and informative podcast! Bravo!
May distract from chores
This show somehow has me laughing out loud one minute, and makes me stop to admire the sincerity and generosity MB so freely offers his guests the next. It’s truly refreshing.
Great
Great podcast. So many amazing episodes (David Sedaris, Apatow, Pete Holmes, Gaffigan, Jack Antonoff, and so many more). But one of the best episodes is the one with Please Don’t Destroy because of how much better it is than their interview on You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes
Don’t sleep-walk on this one!
I’m a birBIGlia fan of Mike Birbiglia. I have loved his comedy for many years. He has a unique delivery and an amazing writing style that I really appreciate. Now he has a podcast that I love. The guests are always interesting and often hilarious. If you love all things comedy and you like creative conversations, with thoughtful analysis on things like, writing, stand up, movies, creative processes then this is for you! If you don’t like any of that and you just like to laugh or need an escape then this is also for you.
Berbest
Can’t for wrong with this podcast. Mike is a treasure!
Favorite podcast!
Long term fan of the podcast and it keeps getting better and better. Mike is a wonderful and thoughtful interviewer. He makes his guests feel comfortable. It’s a joy to learn about comedians process. I recommend this to all my friends, families, enemies, you name it!

That Horse Cops section w/ Alex Edelman was pure gold. I’ve loved this show since the beginning and it never disappoints.
Edifying and Hilar!
The Jane Wickline Liva Pierce episode was a delight. I have been singing the pornhub song all day — and I’m a kindergarten teacher! Hahaha kidding about the teacher part. So fun!
My Go-to Podcast
This is my go-to show when I’m in the studio drawing or painting. I’ve been listening for years now (yes, I own a Helix mattress and now use Mint Mobile) and finally am getting around to writing a review! I always love a Pete Holmes episode, and some other favorites are Ramy Youssef, Kate Berlant, and Janine Harouni. Have a listen, it’s a good time.
