My Favorite Podcast!
Mike is a fantastic interviewer. The podcast never fails to brighten my mood. Always hilarious, interesting, and informative. Often touching. I am a huge fan of story telling and stand-up. This podcast feels like it was made for me. A huge comfort during the depths of Covid and a highlight of my week now. Thank you! And, Mike, please bring your next show to Portland, Maine.
Can't wait for new episodes!
Even if you are not involved in comedy professionally, this is one of the best (and most entertaining) podcasts around. When I discovered it I was thrilled to have a big backlog of episodes to listen to! Now that I am caught up, I go back to my favorites again and again - Ira Glass, Larry Wilmore, Pete Holmes, Nick Kroll, Ryan Hamilton, Zarna Garg - there are so many great ones! Hey, since we are working it out, where can we send you tags if we come up with them? Thanks Mike - love your work.
Good therapy thank you
Laughter is the best medicine. Thank You for providing a weekly dose. Been a fan for a while, keep up the Groovy work sir. ✌🏻🌈✌🏻

All time favorite
I laugh out loud listening to this podcast at my boring desk job. Awesome guests, funny tangents, love the story sharing, and so much creativity
Happy birthday rig Atari!
Thanks for nothing autocorrect and happy birthday tug nation. This podcast brightens my day and makes me snort in public. Nick Kroll ep is a gem among gems.
Happy Belated Birthday, Tig Notaro!
This podcast is excellent for rabbits, as well as unsavory types like Nick Kroll. 5 stars.
Mike Birbiglia: great comedian, great interviewer
Mike! My man! I love you soo much. I love you so much that I was willing to risk my 18yo daughter’s disdain, and introduce her to your work. She listened to your podcast. She watched “The New One”. She was so complimentary. She said, and I quote, “he is among the top five men that I would feel safe with”…she’s very intuitive. But my real man crush is Jack Antonoff. Imagine how excited I was when I found out that you were friends. I would imagine you two at lunch each week saying witty and insightful things that were only shared with each other , and the playing ultimate frisbee in Central Park. This would bring me such joy. BUT, I must now defend my man Jack. He wrote you such a beautiful theme song. I find myself humming it sometimes at random, whether or not there are new Working It Outs to listen to. Here’s the thing though, are you still working it out with your guests? When Jimmie Kimmel gave you grief about not “working it out”, I wanted to leap up and defend you. I could have given him so many examples where he was wrong. But now, I am beginning to think that he was clairvoyant. Less and less “working it out”seems to happen on your show. And ok, that’s fine, I guess. The show’s still great, and you’re still great. But, poor Jack. You’ve turned his beautiful gift into a lie.
A chat with funny friends
I looks forward to new episodes every week. I love getting to know Mike’s guests, and invariably end up cackling out loud many times throughout each episode. The chats are intimate and fun and enlightening. One of my favorite podcasts!
Truly a gem
This is the only man comedian I can stand to listen to for more then 10 minutes at a time. He’s thoughtful and kind. Notice the way he speaks to notwhitedude comics vs the way others do. Palpably a good guy.
Love this podcast definitely work a listen
Try nick kroll or tig notaro episodes!
Love the podcast!
This podcast… I keep telling all the people, I love it. I am a comedy nerd and love the opportunity to get to listen in on in depth conversations about it. I also learn a ton that I am hoping to get to put to use. To the outside world, I’m a middle aged mom who works at a fitness club by day and cleans and does laundry and takes her kid places at night. Inside I am right there with you, planning, writing bits, creating, visualizing the two worlds colliding. Lots of love Mike. Thanks for your consistency in keeping this going. -Christine
Nice!!!
I’m so glad I decided to give up true crime and remember to smile again! I appreciate you! I’m rarely excited about anything so thanx man! Your wife and guests are so entertaining thanx to them. And all the behind-the-scenes (visual podcast scenes?) Sure why not!) team that gets it to my ears for smile refills!!!
My favorite podcast on comedy and performing
Mike Boboli Is a fantastic interviewer and a delightful and insightful person whose love of comedy is evident in every minute of the show. A highlight of my podcast week.
Excellent! Now see Mike Perform Live!
It’s really cool to listen to Working it Out and later, forgetting a joke you heard worked out with a talented guest, hearing the evolution of the joke in an Actual Live Performance as I just did at Mesa Arts Center in AZ. Listening to the podcast show gave a background to the art and an extra dimension to the already multilayered and expertly-performed live show. I laughed the whole time, sometimes so hard I cried, and was so glad I spent all that money. Go see Mike perform live!! Thanks for the great show, laughter truly is medicine.
The best
Mike Birbiglia has been one of my favorite comics for years. I’ve watched his specials, seen him perform, and now I’m powering through his podcast episodes. Thanks for sharing your craft Mike!
Hang Out With Mike
I first heard Mike Birbiglia when he described the workings of a pizza pillow over the radio. Then I watched him explain why Cats-achusetts was simultaneously funny and not funny from stage. And now, through the medium of the podcast, I get to sit with him in his studio while he workshops jokes with some of my other favorite comedians. Thank you Mike for this gift to the world!
Upcoming special guests
Just a guess: T.S.?
Players Theatre (Comedy Cellar neighbor)
Hi Mike, Your podcast has become my go to program in the car. It’s such a fantastic show every time. I’m the owner of the Players Theatre in NYC. Last week I was entering the theatre and you walked by on your way to the Comedy Cellar. Wanted to tell you right then I just parked my car and was listening to your show and you made traffic enjoyable but I wasn’t so bold. Better late than never. Keep doing what you’re doing. -Michael
Much better than murder
This podcast has helped me listen to less murder podcasts. Oddly I find it help with anxiety. Also your wife’s poetry is very enjoyable. Favorite episode so far is the one you did with her laughing one moment crying the next. Beautiful poems sprinkled with comedy. Thank you for sharing.
