Celine and Stephen Mather are a father-and-daughter podcast team. Stephen is now an organizational psychologist but was raised in a high-control group, leaving when he was around thirty years old, around the time when Celine was born. He has an interest in how cults operate and how people establish their sense of self after they leave, his dissertation for his Masters in Organizational Psychology explored this question. Celine is a media graduate and for obvious reasons has an interest in cults, having a particular perspective on them, as she grew up in a home where her parents worked to make a life outside the group.In this open and revealing Father and Daughter conversation Stephen and Celine open up to Rachel about how their family's involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses affected their respective childhoods for better or worse.
