Death is something that shrouded Queen Victoria for most of her life- following her from childhood. Like many of her subjects, Victoria was caught up in the craze for spiritualism that swept the country during the early part of her reign. Buckingham Palace would be the setting for a number of seances and table turning experiments as psychics and mediums were presented to an enthusiastic monarch.
