In episode 140 of the Futurized podcast, the topic is: When will conversational AI get real? Our guest is Joe Bradley, Chief Scientist, LivePerson (@liveperson), in conversation with our host, futurist Trond Arne Undheim (@trondau).

In this conversation, we talk about what machines already do better than humans and muse on the timing of future progress.

If you're new to the show, seek particular topics, or you are looking for a great way to tell your friends about the show, which we always appreciate, we've got the episode categories. Those are at Futurized.org/episodes. They are collections of your favorite episodes organized by topic, such as Entrepreneurship, Trends, Emerging Tech, or The Future of Work. That'll help new listeners get a taste of everything that we do here, starting with a topic they are familiar with, or want to go deeper in.

Trond's takeaway: conversational AI is at its best when its used to remove cognitive load. It may take computers a while to become conversationalists, but they may soon save us time. They are already saving businesses time but the experience is not the same at the other end of the line. That will have to change. On the other hand, conversational AI is a natural UX, and is not costly to put in place. When conversational AI improves it will change things. Is that 5 years or 20 years from now?
