LAMENTATIONS Episodes

Today Jeremiah closes Lamentations by showing us the last step to Good Grief: grieving through prayer.

2,608 years ago, TODAY, Jerusalem fell to the Babylons. And today we come to to the next part of good grief, grief over our shame. If grief is one side of the sin coin, shame is the other. But who can deal with our shame?

Have you ever eaten and your food had no taste? Worked but your job had no joy? Pray but it makes no difference? Even read your Bible but the words fall flat? If your life ever feels like one trial after the other with no end in sight. It may even feel like life is against you or even that it feels like God is out to get you. If you feel this way or have ever felt this way than Lamentations 3 and this sermon are for you! You are in good company.

Sometimes good grief means we need to lament and mourn over our sin like the City of Jerusalem does in Lamentations 1. Our sin should lead us to grief, and our grief should lead us to God!

How? The Book of Lamentations teaches and shows us how to grieve and helps us see a God that not only listens, but allows us to ask how? When we lose what we love.
