We come to the end of 2 Samuel and the weight of David's of guilt is on full display, but the good news is, so is God's mercy!

David is going to show us and point us towards what good authority looks like.

David shows us his proud snapshots of God.

David is in charge of cleaning up Saul's mess and the Philistines.

David's reign, which was once run with righteousness and justice, is now a glass house that is cracking all the time. Even the best of Israel's kings has a failing empire. We need a better King.

Humility, is never wrong. Will we follow the example of our King?

King David is stuck between the gates of following God and helping his son Absalom. Is family too important to us?

The Lord is in control of our story, even when we make decisions the Lord is writing the pages of our lives. He is in control!

KNOW YOUR ENEMY

There are two types of ambition. David has Godly ambition and we see that it is a very good thing. On the contrary Absalom has wordly ambition and we see that it is a very bad thing.

David is going to make the critical mistake to resist the humble and give grace to the proud.

Amnon commits incestual rape, David looks the other way and Abasalon takes matters into his own hands and revenge murders Amnon. We see horrific crimes committed that make us angry and sad, but we can also have hope that the Lord will put all things right one day.

David sinned greatly, but as bad as David's sin was, God's mercy is all the more. God's instant reflex is forgiveness!

Even the man after God's own heart had a bad scandal. David saw, sent, and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. May we not only resist sin but avoid temptation!

The King extends his kindness to people. Some accept it with humility, some reject it. Which will you be?

Are you tired of waiting on the promises of God?

God makes a covenant with David and neither time can kill it or sin can break it!

There is nothing to fear but God Himself. David learns while moving the ark that a healthy fear of the Lord and His commands goes a long way.
