1 JOHN Episodes

There are some things we don't know about the Bible, but there are other things we absolutely know for sure as believers. Jesus assures us when we doubt, hears us when we pray, keeps us when we stumble and He shows us He is God!

God never lies, and he always tells the truth. And the truth that God is telling us today is that He believes in Jesus. The water, the blood and the Spirit. These are the testifying witnesses that work together to confirm that Jesus is indeed the son of God!

Rest assured church family, faith always wins. And there is no better way for us to show that our faith is evident than by loving the Father's only begotten son and loving those who the begotten has begat!

Love is at work brothers and sisters! And while we not see be able to touch it, see it, or even feel it, we can trust God's love! Let us show our love for God in how we love one another!

Today we discover that love is not simply one of God's characteristics, it is the very essence of who He is. And before we can properly love each other the way we are commanded to, we must understand and embrace the love of God!

Is the teacher right about Jesus? Are they popular with the world? Do they line up with the apostles? These questions need to be asked about who we listen too, teachers must be tested!

If you are new to study in 1 John, todays passage is a cliff notes version of the entire book of 1 John. If you want assurance of your salvation we have to look back to the author of our salvation. The tests are simple, do you love Jesus Christ? Do you love others that love Jesus? Do you love God's commandments? If so, rest assured! Trust God, pray to God and walk with God!

Believers love one another. The litmus test for us this week is that we do not love as Cain did, but that we love the way our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did!

Today is a reality check for us church family. John makes it clear that believers stop sinning because sinning is anti-Christ and is also pro-devil. This is the bad news, sin destroys, but here's the good news, JESUS SAVES!

Rest Assured church family, God loves you! We are God's children, we are unashamed of Him, we are loved by Him and we are becoming like Him. And for those of you who haven't received God's love, The Kingdom of Heaven is having open enrollment!

Today John is going to warn us about the dangerous false teachers that are around us. They will leave the church, they will lie about Jesus, and they will try to lure us away from the truth. Stay diligent church family. Rest assured, the spirit of the antichrist is already here!

Rest assured beloved children, God is enough. And because God is enough we have all that he offers. And since we have all that he offers we don't need the world and all that it offers.

In today's passage John tells us that obedience is necessary for us. Rest assured, to know God is to obey, and to obey is to love.

In today's passage John gives his own version of the famous icebreaker game giving us 3 lies and a truth on the deceitfulness of sin. The lies are that sin is not a big deal to God, man is basically good and that denial is the best way forward. The truth is that sin is always the problem, but Jesus is always the solution!

John starts off his letter by authenticating the gospel and his testimony. saying that we have a real savior, we have real eye witnesses and we have real relationships!

How do I know that I am saved? It's a question that many of us ask. But John writes that the quest for Christian assurance is a group project. 1 John is not a test but a study guide for the believer, not so that we can prove to God we are saved, but that God can prove to us that we are saved! The same Jesus who gave us life also gives us assurance.
