How do I know that I am saved? It's a question that many of us ask. But John writes that the quest for Christian assurance is a group project. 1 John is not a test but a study guide for the believer, not so that we can prove to God we are saved, but that God can prove to us that we are saved! The same Jesus who gave us life also gives us assurance.
