Listener Reviews

Buckingham Interview
Quit interrupting! Long time listener of your Podcast. You get way too excited when musicians come on.
Great show
Marc is the best interviewer around! Love the show
Super fan from South Africa
I’m a huge fan of this podcast been listening to it from about 2016 I never missed an episode I learned a lot of comedy culture and got introduced into a lot of great podcasts from listening to this one.. Keep it Marc you dope man I love your stand up too… come to South Africa sometimes !
My happy place
Always interesting and great
The Best
Marin keeps on killing it. Rubin interview was amazing.
Rick Rubin
I was on the fence about Rubin, but after hearing about his love for wrestling I am not a fan. He may have done a good job producing metal, punk and hip hop artists- if you like any of that you’ll like this episode
A talent for interviewing comfort and casualness
Being a long time listener, I particularly like hearing how often Marc’s guests say they’ve enjoyed the talk as much as he did. The interviews seem casual and comfortable and are often filled with surprises. Maron is a gem!
Love the interviews with the old school comedians
Great to capture their stories and reach back a few generations before they all disappear! Go back and dig into the archives for some classics.
Good Talk
Mr. Maron is a great talker and a funny observer of life. With a long list of his own life experiences to draw from and an increasingly long list of interesting and high-profile guests, his is a podcast that has refined with age—being one of the first ones of its kind and a genre-defining show. I loved him on Air America and I welcome his self-conscious neurotic honesty into my ears twice a week. Somehow, Maron gets under the hood of his guests in such meaningful and sincere ways and I have been turned on to new artists in film and music as well as new appreciation for people I previously had heard of but knew little about. Great show, good vibes.
James Murphy
I loved this episode so much the next day I listened to it a second time! I also bought some of his music. Great interview!!!
More Maron
Great interviews Danny Trejo was awesome. This and blue collar hour podcast have best interviews.
One of your best!
The Danny Trejo episode was great. Just finished listening and learned so much about him and you, as well. You’re so good at relating to people and gently nudging more from them. In this episode especially, you helped bridge the gap between his background and experiences and mine which were obviously wayyyy different. You helped the listener understand the thoughts and motivations while still respecting his past and dignity. It was fantastic. Thanks for sharing him with us!
Marc Who?
Best podcast out there. Had no idea who u were but after listening two an episode every day for a month it’s easily my favourite show.Love it from Perth West Australia.
Chicano love
I can’t thank you enough for your interview with Danny Trejo. What an incredible story and conversation between the two of you! Thank you for the inclusivity of interviews with such a wide range of people, including these recent ones with Trejo and David Hidalgo. This Latina who grew up in California appreciates it!
Edging
I was on the fence for 1,193 episodes because I find Marc’s political opinions to be excrement sheltered and undercooked and so obviously a function of his privilege. His myriad banal neuroses also become repetitive and grating but this episode with Andy Zaltzam tipped me over. It was warm, lovely, thoughtful and funny. Diamond in the rough x
David Hidalgo
I really enjoy Marc’s interviews with musicians. He seems like a kid in a candy store. So many topics to touch upon, and so little time to do it in! His inner fanboy is apparent, and we get to enjoy the candy with him!!
Great Tarantino interview!!!
Marc is great and I listen frequently. His recent Tarantino interview was one of the best of his podcasts so far. They really connected and Marc asked so many good questions and clearly was enjoying himself. Tarantino really opened up and talked freely. Really special and highly recommended.
Quentin Tarantino
I could’ve listened to another two or so hours of this chat. He’s so entertaining.
Tarentino
Best Tarentino interview ever! Fascinating!
Best interviews out there
Marc, I honestly think you do the best interviews out there, yours and Howard’s, I used to think his were the best but I’m now putting you as my favorite.. not bad company.. :)!
Love your interviews
Marc I love your interviews. I learn so much about the people you interview.
William Friedkin
The William Friedkin and James Taylor interviews might be the two best podcasts ever. The Obama interview was bad. Tough guarded subject but Marc was absurdly nervous. Lin Manuel was great and I am hardly a Hamilton fan.
Tom Scharpling
Love the pod.But you gotta tell your buddy Tom if he doesn’t talk about his book and give some stories from it, we don’t know who he is and have zero interest to buy the book! When Seth Rogen is out selling his book, he goes on podcasts and tells the best stories possible - so people buy the book!!!! I have zero idea who tom is, and now I have zero idea about his book = zero chance I’m gonna buy it.
