Listener Reviews

Ireland
Hi Mark, I would recommend Sligo as a choice for Irish move Thanks Claire
It Doesn’t Matter
Marc was great on the It Doesn’t Matter Patreon Podcast. Really funny guy
More Chefs!!!
Remembering Scott Conant episode way back🤣. I’m no celeb, I’ll fly out!
Let People talk!
Marc! I love you. Been listening for years and years. But please, let people finish a story before you jump in with your story. The Joanna Gleason interview was infuriating. Love you!
Conspiracy pod cast a major disappointment
Not one word about 9/11? This is one conspiracy that actually has some legitimacy and his approach to it (apparently) is a sci fi “directed energy weapon” deflection?
Ben Kingsley
Episode was so bizarre. Glad you aired it anyway. Please interview Paul and Sasha from Community News podcast. it could only be better than the BK interview!A good reminder that some amazing actors are incredible bores.
Illumi-not-tay
Why does mark insist on mispronouncing Illuminati? Does he order hot herbal tay?Dot your i’s and cross you tays?If he were a draftsmen he’d ask you to hand him a tay square. Anyway. Love the cast, but dude….dude….c’mon!!
Great dialogue
I enjoy Marc’s interviews but usually skip the first 10 or 15 minutes of his intro. Once he gets into his guests, it gets interesting.
Guests to consider
One guest that Marc should have on is Becket Cook. I watch his YouTube shows and he interviews interesting people. Becket has an incredible story to tell.
Stop interupting guests
I like this podcast. However, Marc’s interrupting guests can be annoying, but in his interview with Sofia Coppola, it was downright intolerable. Marc, listen to this interview and hear for yourself. I stopped counting at 100 interruptions! What happens is the audience starts paying attention to the interruptions and is no longer interested in what the guest have to say.
Scrap first 10mins
I would rate 5 if there wasn’t first 10mins of dribble about your thoughts.Just go straight into it please
To be or not to be.
Marc’s Ben Kingsley interview was surreal. The concept of not losing sight of oneself in acting is basic and the first thing you learn in high school theater. But Sir Ben Kingsley proved his storytelling mastery by making simple ideas like that seem fresh and enlightening. His hypnotic voice and introspection gave the impression he was speaking within himself as if to somehow find his own center. Marc knew enough to let him find it.
Mental note: Don’t ask Sir Ben about his mom
Gold star for trying Mark. I guess brilliance can be burdensome. I felt the daggers flying out of his eyes when you told him what your favorite scene was from Sexy B.
Best Podcast
For an interesting authentic smart and funny podcast - this is the one - handsdown.
Podcast 1444
Another great podcast including this excellent description by Marc from latest podcast 1444 regarding anxiety: ‘Fleeting Relief Addict’ !
You know
Every American podcast I listen to guests and hosts CONSTANTLY say “you know” You know you know you know what is it with saying this??
My favorite podcast
Marc Maron has had a profound impact on my life in the past 10 years. Always anchors me personally to the day,and is a constant way for me to relate to the world of popular entertainment while sparking positive introspection and laughter.
Who Knew
This podcast is great, but who knew Marc was so good on film?? Just watched To Leslie and didn’t want his scenes to end. Great movie and fantastic cast. Thanks, Marc, that was really enjoyable.
Professional
This is how a true pro brings all his powers and charm to this worthy endeavor. I just finished watching TO LESLIE and at first I thought it was going to be too heavy; maybe even depressing. It certainly did have the subject matter capable of bringing even the most optimistic mood down. But the charming Mr. Maron brings such skill to his role and delivers us a character whose journey I wanted to share; even wishing I could be like, that I feel honored to call myself a “ friend of the show “! I actually cried! And I don’t know if I’ve ever cried watching a show before in my entire life! It’s an absolutely perfectly crafted masterpiece that lifted me in a deep way. Marc is a Superstar!
One of the best interviewers
In a swamp of thousands of podcasts, Marc's stands out for its consistency, variety of guests, and his ability to bring the guest's story forward. Sometimes I think, "Oh, I've never heard of that person, but I'll give it a go." I'm often pleasantly surprised to learn about this person and learn about their interesting perspectives.
The Best
Marc has it all. Deep conversation, plenty of laughs, empathy and compassion! And one of the only comedians speaking up on the present day fools of comedy, sucking down the right wing agenda. Smart talk instead of ignorant shock talk like all the Rogans out there!
Louis Anderson
This memorial episode makes me laughEvery time
More musical guest.
Love Maron, love the podcast but would like to hear from more musical guest. I especially loved the Gary Clark Jr one it cracked me up. Please do another and maybe a Zapata one.would like to know why he changed his bass and drummer not that the new guys aren’t good there fabulous and is he still tight with those guys. We see him at least 2 or 3 times when he’s on tour and it’s better every time.but more music guest would be nice. Thanks for the laughs.❤️✌🏿
Longtime listener…
…first time reviewer. Nothing better than listen to Maron and any comedian chew the fat. But whoever comes on the show, Marc is game and dives into whatever comes up. That connection time and time again makes him hard to beat in the realm of conversationalists.
