What’s Happened to Hidden Brain?!?
It’s become almost corporatized. The whole series on money. The guests have become more and more elitist. Even this last one on anxiety. She’s wealthy and connected. I feel like it’s lost it’s way. I loved that show so much. I will treasure many of the past episodes. But I’m starting to lose interest. Which is really sad. If I want work stuff I can listen to Adam Grant. I’m not interested in rich people talking about their struggles.
Taking control of your time
The podcast Taking control of your time tantalized me with just a hint about dealing with having too much time. I am financially able to retire, but I worry about exactly what you described - having too much unstructured time and both being unhappy and declining cognitively. I know I can load up with volunteer work, etc, but do you have research or guidance to offer on this important life step?
Thank you!
I love your podcasts! Also will there be a premonition 2?
Interesting deep dive on language
Also, when you said, “We’ll be back momentarily” I was LOL… literally. 😉
Watch Your Mounth
Hmmm… I’m now more tolerant/curious about the (over)use of “like”
The best parts of journalism meet the best parts of human nature
Hidden Brain never fails to fascinate, with its thoughtful dives into how our minds work. I so appreciate the thoughtfully curated topics and Shankhar’s masterful interviewing of guests. When the day’s headlines and media hype are a bit too much and too little all at once, I find my “just right” here!
Always interesting topics for self improvement
I have always been impressed over the years of Shanker’s follow up questions. They are the most insightful and deeper than you expect. Thank You Very Much for the joy you bring!
Love it!
Sometimes I am learning, some episodes allow me to need out, and others expand my horizons! Thank you “Hidden Brain” team. This podcast is my favorite.
Source of Information
The interviews with guest provide a useful source if information. Great selection of subject and guest. Thank you.
Well done
This is a quality podcast. I find the few reviews about the podcast being “political” almost comical. It strives to find deeper truth in life’s experience. It’s thorough, succinct and well worth listening to. I listen to every show. Some episodes resonate more than others and that’s human nature. Keep up the great work!
Very enjoyed
I like to listen to it every morning because it helps get me pumped for the day and I recommend it to all my friends and family!
It’s very interesting
I am from East Africa , Ethiopia . I don't normally follow podcasts but once I heard this by chance, I am always waiting and checking my phone for the new episodes, since English is not my first language , whereas I find it excellent to follow so I find it fascinating to listen very interesting
Smart, fun and important
This podcast discusses important topics that affect us as individuals and as a society. The information is science-based. The presentation is interesting and hopeful. I learn a lot with every show. I also find Shankar’s manner and voice soothing—just what I need in the midst of a hectic day. Listen, you’ll love it.
Worth a listen
Rich content… I learn so much in 60 minutes or less.
Hidden Brain
So glad that I found this podcast, it was by complete accident. But I have enjoyed several of the interviews I have watched. So awesome!
Such an interesting show
You can learn a lot by listening to this show. We love to listen as we drive somewhere!
Wish there were new episodes everyday…
I originally discovered this show via my local NPR station. I used to listen weekly on my Alexa device, but now I listen via the podcast while walking my dog. It makes walking in the hot, humid, Texas summers much more bearable. Social sciences examining psychology profiles and issues don’t get near enough attention in our schools, workplace, and daily news, especially information that you can use to improve your lot in life. This show does this. I only wish that there were new episodes everyday.
Loved it
Shankar’s voice is sooo authentic and clear. It’s so amazing to listen different stories , learn about brain.
Tools for Personal Growth
My favorite podcast. Not only are the episodes fascinating investigations of our brains, how we relate to others, and how we navigate society, but they often contain real tools for personal growth and broadening perspective. I frequently end an episode feeling inspired to approach life with a new mindset. I’ve even learned many practical and effective strategies to help manage depression and anxiety. And, despite the serious topics, the episodes are genuinely entertaining and engaging.
