Tops
Consistent, insightful, thoughtful, helpful.. I’ve supported for years .., Re: gaiety, my sense is that it’s a biological imperative and occurs in many species, as a response to overpopulation and more, under the larger canopy of survival of the species and for humans, the survival of ALL species . Plus the rapid acceleration of homosexuality despite the difficulties and without choosing so, lead to most of us knowing them as relatives, coworkers, friends and accepting what was happening rather than trying to fight nature. Thank you to the brave who persisted As for racial divides, again I reflect on what we know about the health of biodiversity and genetic recombinations. More obvious to me is the incredible beauty and attractiveness of mixed race humans, again with a biogenetic edge for surviving to carry on. People can keep resisting and judging through imposed and often false moralistic fancy and with hate and are apparently shocked because they are forced to reexamine beliefs and expand their view of what exists . Better to perhaps accept and gain knowledge, perspective . As for beliefs …… perhaps another time!
Brilliant Podcast
It’s good every time. Some days I don’t want to listen as much to my more intellectual podcast but I never regret listening to Hidden Brain. It always makes me reflect and today I teared up over the unsung hero.
All of Hidden Brain’s podcasts
I enjoy this podcast for a myriad of reasons. One of which is that the host is NOT Caucasian (I am, by the way) and, therefore, gives a different perspective to life. Such interesting topics. Very bold, real and relatable. Thank you for this diverse choice!
Bias check…maybe?
One thing I’ve noticed with the host is he’s a bit more personable with people I identify to be men. There’s always more laughter and more of a free flowing conversation than when he is interviewing people I identify as women. I wonder why that is. Either way, love the information gathering and sharing, my favorite podcast in fact.
So great!
I love The Hidden Brain for all the wonderful insight and helpful hints about why we do what we do. Plus, I could listen to Shankar speak for hours. I’m grateful my friend told me about this podcast gem. ❤️❤️❤️
Fascinating
Power of tiny interactions-excellent!!!!!!
I wait for each new episode
HB always gives me something to think about. I know that I can tune into HB and always find an interesting talk. I love Shankar’s voice and storytelling style.
Interesting and enjoyable
I look forward to each new episode. The topics are current and easy to relate to. Very often the show validates my own world view. Janet
Such a refreshing podcast
Conversations that truly matters. Thank you Hidden Brain team!
Tops!
Hidden Brain is TOPS in my book! Each episode, even the ones I fear will be boring, are EXCELLENT! Hidden Brain simply cannot be beat within its genre.Shanker Vedantum, the host, is a learned, charming, superb guide to life’s most confounding, challenging, but ultimately interesting issues. BRAVO, Hidden Brain!
How many sponsors does one podcast need?
It could be like 20 minutes shorter with out all the “breaks”. Are we on the radio here?
Great show
Seldom is there a topic on here that I’m not interested in. The shows are so well done and well researched, so I know it’s information that I can trust. Longtime listener
Such great fuel for thought and conversation
I’m a regular listener, as is my next-door neighbor and my wife, and we’re always having such great conversations about the insights shared by the researchers on this show. It has given me ways to think about broader social issues but also concrete practical advice. Keep up the great work!
Comment
The most recent episode relationships 2.0 mini-interactionsI can relate to the issues deeply.I wonder if when she talks about asking the couples to move was easier because you are not asking something for your self , asking to help another person comes easy, that’s when I loose my shyness, don’t even think about it.Just curious if that has anything to do with it.Thank youI listen to all episodes, great podcast.
Always learn something!
This is one of my favorite shows because 1. the topics are interesting and relevant for me (relationships, psychology, behavior); 2. Knowledgeable guests and relevant research; 3. Delves moderately deeply into topics. You go beyond the surface level of a topic so you actually learn something new!
What’s Happened to Hidden Brain?!?
It’s become almost corporatized. The whole series on money. The guests have become more and more elitist. Even this last one on anxiety. She’s wealthy and connected. I feel like it’s lost it’s way. I loved that show so much. I will treasure many of the past episodes. But I’m starting to lose interest. Which is really sad. If I want work stuff I can listen to Adam Grant. I’m not interested in rich people talking about their struggles.
Taking control of your time
The podcast Taking control of your time tantalized me with just a hint about dealing with having too much time. I am financially able to retire, but I worry about exactly what you described - having too much unstructured time and both being unhappy and declining cognitively. I know I can load up with volunteer work, etc, but do you have research or guidance to offer on this important life step?
Thank you!
I love your podcasts! Also will there be a premonition 2?
Interesting deep dive on language
Also, when you said, “We’ll be back momentarily” I was LOL… literally. 😉
Watch Your Mounth
Hmmm… I’m now more tolerant/curious about the (over)use of “like”
The best parts of journalism meet the best parts of human nature
Hidden Brain never fails to fascinate, with its thoughtful dives into how our minds work. I so appreciate the thoughtfully curated topics and Shankhar’s masterful interviewing of guests. When the day’s headlines and media hype are a bit too much and too little all at once, I find my “just right” here!
Always interesting topics for self improvement
I have always been impressed over the years of Shanker’s follow up questions. They are the most insightful and deeper than you expect. Thank You Very Much for the joy you bring!
Love it!
Sometimes I am learning, some episodes allow me to need out, and others expand my horizons! Thank you “Hidden Brain” team. This podcast is my favorite.
Source of Information
The interviews with guest provide a useful source if information. Great selection of subject and guest.Thank you.
