Listener Reviews

A must-listen podcast for anyone in business
Useful and impactful! Love listening to the Building a StoryBrand podcast for insights into marketing and business, plus Don and JJ are just plain fun! The only problem is Don is always recommending so many great books, I can't keep up with the stack next to my bed! A must-listen podcast for anyone in business.
The most practically helpful
This podcast is the one I listen to the most regularly and most consistently because of how practical it is and how encouraging it is. If you want to be a better business owner, if you want to be a better leader, this is the podcast that will take you there.
Excellent Resource
We’ve attended the StoryBrand workshop and thoroughly enjoyed our experience and believe it was worth every penny. What I enjoy about this podcast is not only the content related to marketing and building our company brand but also all of the great resources and topics discussed outside of marketing. As a small business owner I have personally benefited from multiple resources discussed in these podcasts that had nothing to do with marketing or branding but did relate to helping me become a better, more profitable business owner.
Worth the time
Don and his team do a great job! Listening to this podcast has set my career on a different path. A much better path. These guys are the real deal.
Business owner
Really great content.
Asks the questions I want to be asked.
The first one I listened to was the Bob Goff episode. I’ve since been binging on several more. What I liked so far is he doesn’t let people give a pat answer without going deeper. He especially did that with Bob and offered real insight into a man that is hard to pin down. I would guess mainly because he’s so earnest in who he is that it disarms people that maybe can’t believe someone is that caring and effective. Ronald got into a little of the motivation and process Bob uses. I really appreciate that. Looking forward to hearing a lot more. Thank you!
Good Stuff!
I haven’t listened to any of the newer podcasts yet but went back and started from the beginning. The first 20 or so that I’ve listened to thus far have been great!
The most engaging podcast around!
I have been listening to Don Miller’s building a story brand podcast for the past year. In my opinion, I have not come across a more engaging, thought provoking and inclusive podcast. The podcast brings on experts in their field and Don quite brilliantly brings out the best in them. Give it a try, you will not regret it.
Groundbreaking and Refreshing
A few months back Donald Miller was announced as a keynote speaker for a conference I was going to be attending. I had never heard of story brand before that and immediately started diving deep into their content, which didn’t disappoint. Fast forward to the conference and his talk was simply amazing! (If you ever get the chance to hear Donald speak , do yourself and your business a favor and don’t miss it) Storybrand is definitely a top business podcast for me and the one I listen to the most. Thank you for all the amazing wisdom you have shared!
Getting Hit Is Life
This is such an excellent podcast. Love the 3 of you. Ally and JJ You two are hilarious! Awesome, funny, full of excellent information and ideas.
Excellent podcast
I stumbled across Story Brand by accident and this is such amazing quality podcast. My long commuting hours don't seem so bleak anymore listening to Donald Miller interviewing his guests. Can't recommend highly enough to small and big business owners and product developers.
Favourite podcast. Ever.
The Storybrand podcast has NEVER failed to disappoint. Always an excellent use of my time. One of my favourite meal-time prep companions - the only downside is that I often find myself having to stop what I'm doing to take notes! Thank you so much for making such rich content so entertaining and digestible.
What happened?
I read Building a Storybrand: outstanding. I’ve read Don’s previous books which are great. I started listening to the Podcast and it was outstanding. Couldn’t wait for Monday am. Then, 10-12 months ago, something happened. The interviews since have generally been below average and the team seems to break the rules/structure that makes Storybrand so powerful. They’ve tried to explore this social side (I don’t personally care for that content), which totally distorts what was once a clear message. I used to know what I was getting w this Podcast (and couldn’t wait). I’m 6 minutes into Episode 118 and they’ve only talked about each other (you’re supposed to be the guides). I get the attempt to play off each other and show us the inner culture—but it breaks the rule where you’re supposed to be the guide. In short, I’m a huge fan of their team and their message. I would like to see Don take control of the podcast again. He’s a humble dude, no doubt. I’d like the see more counter balance to that—take charge and give us that clear message again.
Changed my life. Twice.
Donald Miller's book "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" changed the way that I look at life--and my personal agency to live the story that I want to live. A few years later, I was thrilled and intrigued to discover that he was applying the principles of Story to marketing. The Storybrand framework has helped me tremendously as I've built a successful podcast very quickly. I tell every entrepeneur I know to check out Storybrand! Thank you, Don, for living a truly remarkable story and helping so many others to do the same.
Highly recommended
Donald gives out the best marketing advice. Content is amazing and informative, tips are actionable, and everything just hits the right spot. Can't believe I just recently found out about this podcast!
A great guide for being a great guide
I first heard Don Miller on another podcast—then bought his book Building a Storybrand, then subscribed to this podcast. Now I’m hooked. Clearly, Don is broadening his scope on the podcast beyond the Storybrand model. Very interesting so far!
Amazing!
Wonderful work by Donald and his team. The interviews that take place are incredibly interesting and relaxed. I recommended it 100%.
Storybrand Is the Most Applicable Podcast Ever!
Don and his sidekick JJ are like your goofy uncles who always make you laugh while imparting some serious wisdom at the same time. Most of the time when I listen to podcasts I fast forward through the intros, conclusions, and commercials, #sorrynotsorry but not with this one. Every second of the show is filled with nuggets of business and marketing wisdom for all kinds of entrepreneurs. This podcast is definitely worth your time.
Love it!
Establishing a solid brand and story is a must for any business looking to succeed. That's why I'd recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to know more about what it means to be a well-known brand.
Love SO much about BaSB
Love Donald, love the book, love the marketing course, and this podcast! So many valuable nuggets. The only thing I would change about the podcast is asking Donald to let his guests finish their thoughts/sentences BEFORE he speaks or responds. It’s distracting.
Real Dialogue with Real Substance
Been a fan for years but just found the podcast. I've been catching up on episodes and have truly enjoyed what feels like a very refreshing conversation in contrast to many perdictable interviews on most podcasts. My new favorite conversation for sure!
My Monday Morning Cup of Joe
I wish I could take the time to write a proper review. Bottom line - Story Brand brings tremendous value to the marketing strategy space with wisdom and insight that many are beginning to echo. I’ve read the book, done all the freebies, heck I almost applied to work there!
Early Episodes are the Best
The early seasons of this podcast were fantastic; I really looked forward to listening to the new episodes every Monday morning. Lately, they seem to be all over the place with topics - like they're not sure what their own message is anymore (ironic, since "clarify your message" is their banner song) . . . But it's still a great podcast, and I'm sure they'll find their way. I highly recommend going back to listen to the first couple dozen episodes.
