One of the best Podcasts out there
Smart Passive Income was one of the first podcasts I listened to that inspired me. Pat is an incredible teacher and gives awesome advice, as well as being "one of us." I love his approach to business as it's a means to living the life you want. A forever fan right here!
Thank you!
Thank you for providing content relating to all aspects of business! The time management and productivity series was super helpful! Thank you for giving people permission to do things in a way that works for them! I realized I didn't to stop trying to force myself to have my business hours be 8-5. That's not my peak productivity time!
Generous and Genius
I've started a small online business with the help of Will it Fly? And SPI podcasts... the guy is selfless and giving. Don't tell him, but I'd pay to listen to these FREE podcasts!

SPI 257 • Incredible Story of Paper & Oats
Such a heartwarming podcast with Kelsey Bladwin, owner of Paper and Oats. Her personal journey is one of overcoming challenges by setting her own course of action. Kelsey is an inspiration for all and when times get difficult for Entrepreneurs, this is the perfect podcast to listen to. Shows the power of determination and validates the truth that we in fact control our destiny. Sad story with her background but also so uplifting as Kelsey built her business and in doing so has created a life for her and her daughter. POWERFUL!!
A Knitter who found a business podcast, and LOVED it!
I don't listen to many business podcasts, but when I do, it has to be Pat Flynn. This podcast has incredible actionable advice with knowledgeable guests and interesting topics. Pat is a seamless and genuine host with an ability to show his expertise while still being friendly and relatable.
Great questions
Your podcast with Selena Soo was great. I've been a student of hers for about a year. The questions you asked were fantastic and learned even more insights. I particularly liked how you gave three different scenarios as to where a person may be in their business and had her walk through a strategy for each of them.
Too many good things to say to fit into one headline...
Where do I start? First off, Pat is a humble, down to earth, nice guy. I met Pat a few years back, and he was no different in person as he sounds on the show. To me, that's a big deal. The guy obviously knows business, how to make money, how create passive income and how to interview incredible guests. But what is the thing that impressed me most? How much of a family man he is. He builds his work day around his wife and kids. Like any entrepreneur, Pat admits it can take his mind away at times. But he seems to be so grounded and that's so refeshing to hear in this day and age. I loved that he said recently that his perfect day was with his family fishing on a remote lake with sandwiches and a beer. Proves that you don't need a ton of passive income to have a happy, grateful successful life! Awesome podcast, awesome guy.
Best
The best place to go for excellent useful content you will want to hear if you have an online business
Great podcast, really useful ideas...too bad he promotes 99Design
I just started listening to this podcast and have gotten some great ideas from the few podcasts I've heard so far. The only problem I have with the podcast is it supports 99design. Fun? Spend days or a week creating free work and giving away your ideas to someone in the hopes of work is fun? I did this a few times, in the beginning as an illustrator, before I realized what a mistake this is. Artists, need I say never give your work away for free? Your time is valuable. Clients looking for cheap work, realize you are asking an actual human being to spend hours, perhaps days of their life trying to realize your idea. Would you give this much of your own time when the odds are 20 to 1 of simply getting paid? Probably not. So why would you ask someone else to do that? No getting around the fact that 99design is a total rip off. And just because it exists doesn't mean it's right.
Awesome and Inspiring
Smart passive income is my first real podcast that I listened too and I have loved it from the beginning. On a three day road trip from Brisbane Australia to Melbourne I could not stop listening to all the great interviews and advice Pat Flynn gave. His real life stories and experiences and those of is great and sometimes world famous like Tim Ferris is motivating and instructive. I am now a dedicated listener. Finally his book Will it Fly is a great and helpful read on how to validate your entrepreneurial ideas.
Fantastic resource
Practical, concise, and relatable.
Authentic and Helpful
I've followed Pat for a while--listening to his podcasts, reading his newsletters, and I even used his podcast tutorials to launch my own podcast. He's not like some of the slick online entrepreneur "bros"; he's humble, authentic, knowledgeable and always looking for better ways to do things. Even the people who work with him are helpful and human. Pat's a trusted source for ideas and inspiration.
My favorite podcast!
I found Pat's podcast couple of months ago. I love how Pat can talk to his guests in a very sincere way. I listen to both his old and the latest episodes, couple times a day while either driving, cooking or exercising. It is really inspirational, motivational and gives me lot of insights on how to start an online business.
My favorite business-related podcast. Always helpful and actionable.
This review is overdue because I've been listening to Smart Passive Income for nearly a year now. I love Pat's quirkiness and his comfort in his own skin. He doesn't pretend to have it all figured out, and that transparency makes it easy to relate to him, both as an entrepreneur and as a human being. Pat invites a broad spectrum of guests onto the show, and he always does a good show of putting them front and center. They talk a lot more than he does, which I find refreshing. This isn't a cult of personality podcast. This is a normal guy creating opportunities for other people to share their successes and failures (and have fun in the process). I always learn something new, something that I can put into practice immediately, and I look forward to sharing my own story on SPI one day soon. My problem is that I'm always stopping in the middle of my runs to type out notes and to-dos on my phone. So stop, Pat. Except don't stop. Subscribe to this podcast. Your life and your business will be better for it.
If you ever even thought about business, this is it.
Pat is someone I trust. He puts it all out there, the good and the bad. He tries, fails, adjusts, tries, pivots, tries and succeeds over and over again. He is honest and real. If you're ready to try a new life where you are the boss, he's shown many ways to get started. I couldn't recomend this enough.
Informative and engaging
Love your podcast. Thank you for helping people share their knowledge and skills on the podcast. It's super informative and has many useful tricks and tips to help develop my own business.
Worth your time!
Great podcast, varied guest list, so there's always a different view on common problems. Quite agreeable voice too, and the length of the episode is perfect.
