Learn about red flags
This podcast is so insightful about controlling men. I am learning a ton - especially about recognizing the red flags when you’re starting a relationship. Highly recommend!
A must listen for everyone
Listening to this podcast has been so validating for me and I wish it existed 10+ years ago when I started trying to put my finger on exactly what was happening in my marriage. I didn’t learn about coercive control until I left despite it being such a big part of my experience. Listening to this podcast should be a requirement for all family court professionals, especially those dealing with child custody cases.
👌
Really loved listening to the podcasts from Sophie du Plantier. Great voice for storytelling
Expert Analysis
I knew Laura from RCP. I took a break from true crime for a while, so I didn’t realize she had her own show (and congrats on the baby, Laura!). I don’t think you can find this level of expert analysis in many places. Laura’s coverage of the Petito case has been particularly on point. (Laura has a way of explaining my reactions (“hey, that’s sketchy”) in an academic and intellectual way. Thanks, Laura!
Sys gen white male
I admit that I’ve been on the moving sidewalk most of my life, taking thing for granted, taking things easy and after I went through a difficult personal relationship I turned to podcasts, oddly enough, to find my footing. When I first heard the expression “ woman is the future of man,” I didn’t really get what it meant. Laura is the future of man. Her IQ and her relatability informs us all how to become more civilized, better men. I am sure her own son and husband will benefit from her strong voice as I know I have. She is dogged and energetic and inflagging in her pursuitbif justice and, let’s erect a statue already because she is way out and in front of the future we should strive for. Men need to be educated and held accountable for what they have failed to see and for what they have taken for granted. Laura is the future of mankind and I become smarter and more civilized with every listen. Thank you Laura for being strong and dedicated. You are a diamond.
Excellent
Great episodes of interesting and thought provoking content. Deals with hard subject matter in an empathetic and caring way…wonderfully informative and important listening!! Thank you Laura ❤️
This is one of the all-time-best crime analysis podcasts. Laura Richards is brilliant, articulate and passionate in her analyses. Her attention to detail and experience as a criminal behavioral analyst result in podcasts of rare insight. She performs an invaluable service to women by calling attention to the signs of domestic violence. This podcast is one for the ages.
Purposeful & victim-focused true crime
Laura is an experienced expert & absolute legend. I wish more people listened to her rather than many of the other unethical and exploitative podcasters in the true crime space. Learning how to recognize red flags is so important & can truly save lives!
So grateful!
I'm so grateful for your knowledge and expertise Laura! This podcast is đź’Ż!!!
Eye-opening and excellent
I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough. Laura has done something amazing—become a bridge between the reality of crime and coercive control and our experiences as humans. She isn’t an armchair detective, she’s an expert—and she is reaching out to us. I have learned so much from her and have been able to look at some of my past experiences in a new light. Thank you so much, Laura!
Amazing
Such and incredible show! First heard Laura in Real Crime Profile and always liked her takes. She never disappoints !
Super interesting!
I just stay waiting for the next episodes for interesting analysis!
A breath of fresh air in a sensationalised genre
I only recently found this podcast, but I was instantly struck by how it’s a much-needed standout in the true crime genre. The Crime Analyst approaches every case with not only expertise but great care - especially for the victims. In a world where so many true crime podcasts focus on the lurid or sensationalised details, with no regard for facts or the people involved, TCA is a must listen.
So much respect!
I have so much respect for the work you do and your efforts to educate about coercive control and other abuse issues. This podcast is truly terrific for the educational AND entertainment values.
Obsessed with this podcast
Everyone should listen to this podcast and learn about domestic abuse and how to identity warning signs. I personally am learning new things with every episode and am impatiently waiting for the next one to come out. Thank you Laura for the valuable insights and lessons!
Inspired and insightful
As a survivor of domestic violence, I came to the podcast without a taste for crime stories as much as a need to broaden my understanding of coercive control. Laura’s extensive expertise gives a clear perspective into the complex nuances of intimate partner violence. Her podcast helps articulate the subtle behaviors often missed and undervalued by the justice system. Crime analysis is delightfully well storied, and profoundly insightful. Laura’s thoughtful and compassionate approach has been like salve to weeping wounds of invalidation.
This is without a doubt one of the best podcasts out there. Laura is the most insightful host and it is so refreshing to listen to crime podcasts where the victims are at the centre of the dialogue. I have just finished a degree in criminology and was unsure what career path to pursue however after many weeks of listening to Crime Analyst, I have made it my goal to become just like Laura. I find the episodes which cover coercive control and violence against women particularly interesting as these are areas which other true crime media outlets do not always go into. Would recommend to everyone!
A Real Life Superhero
Laura I can’t put into words how lucky we are you came to America. Your experience and drive to put forth the right education, feelings and thoughts for everyone to see is exactly what we need today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring about not just women, but humans, truth, justice and educating people on what is right. Crime Analyst is by far the best educational binge to date.
100% worth your time
Each episode I’ve listened to so far is an insightful deep dive into a specific case of domestic abuse and/or coercive control, subjects on which Ms. Richards is a professional expert (and it shows!). She offers a framework for understanding misogyny and how it impacts how we view and often blame victims of abuse/crimes, and she asks her listeners rhetorical questions at just the right moment to challenge how we might’ve internalized those ideas and can begin to reshape our thoughts and hold the right people accountable.
Excellent education
I just can’t get enough of Laura’s insight and experience. Watching crime reports and documentaries make so much more sense. It’s easier to spot biases and framing. Her passion for being the voice of survivors and victims is inspiring. I’ll take as much content as she can create!
I've been a big fan of Laura Richards for a long time now. Since listening to her show and her expertise, I believe I have grown in values , boundaries and my safety. Her knowledge she shares with her listeners is realistic and very informative. It was made me very aware of abuse and control. And watching out for red flags.
Great Podcast
Love listening to Laura’s expert opinion! So thought provoking!
