Thank you to Kiana for the 5-Star Review!

I first started off by watching Kristin's youtube videos and later discovered the podcast.

As someone who is actively trying to move abroad (even just temporarily), I find the podcast very informative and entertaining. It's helped me to realize this dream of mine isn't that farfetched and totally doable. Keep up the great work Kristin!

Full show notes and the podcast transcript will be up shortly on www.badassdigitalnomads.com.

Introduction: Welcome to Badass Digital Nomads, where we're pushing the boundaries of remote work and travel, all while staying grounded with a little bit of old school philosophy, self-development, and business advice from our guests.

Kristin:    00:00:23    Hey there, Kristin Wilson from Traveling with Kristin here, and welcome to episode 246 of Badass Digital Nomads. I have a very short and sweet but exciting episode for you today as I'm going to be giving you all the details about how you can join me in Costa Rica this August for our first ever group Traveling with Kristin Trip. As some of you may know, we had originally scheduled a trip to Portugal, but we rescheduled it from April to August in Costa Rica instead. So if you've been looking for a short weekend getaway to somewhere very beautiful and tropical, then this trip could be for you. Costa Rica is a country that I've spent at least eight years of my life in, so it's very special to me. It's the first country that I ever lived in when I studied abroad as a college student in 2002. It's the place where I learned Spanish, and it's a place that I have kept going back to throughout a lifetime.

Kristin:    00:01:30    So I'm so excited to show you some of the things that I love about Costa Rica. Now, where will we go? This trip will be taking place in the northwest Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, which is conveniently located just a 25 minute drive from Liberia International Airport. It's going to be a very relaxing trip, so if you're up for a long weekend with some good rest and relaxation, then this is the trip for you. The main activity that we'll be doing together is taking a sunset cruise out of Playas del Coco, Costa Rica is known for having some of the most amazing sunsets in the world, and so this will be a really nice afternoon and evening. We'll be able to catch the sunset as well as possibly see some local wildlife, maybe dolphins, sea turtles, and even a whale or two. The last time I took a boat from Playas del Coco, I also saw a whale shark up close.

Kristin:    00:02:31    So I'm really looking forward to this. The next day we have an optional activity, which is going to the hot springs at Buena Vista Lodge. I've never been there, so I'm really excited to check it out. It's in a really natural environment surrounded by the forest, and there's also a sauna there as well as a place where you can give yourself a mud bath. After that, we'll be going back to the hotel where I'll be hosting a moving abroad workshop. So if you're curious in moving to Costa Rica or anywhere else in the world, I'll be giving you some of my tips for how to do just that, and also welcoming some special local guests. The entire trip includes single or double occupancy in a four star hotel. It also includes a lot of meals, three breakfasts, two lunches, and three dinners. It also includes a local experienced guide and as well as I'll be there hosting the trip.

Kristin:    00:03:29    It also includes all city transfers and will also have some bonus activities in the mornings such as yoga or meditation, which are also completely optional to participate. I haven't been to Costa Rica in more than five years, so I'm so excited to be going back and I hope that you can join me. If you're interested in Traveling to Costa Rica with me, then bookings will open at 12:00 PM Eastern time on Friday, March 1st. So if you wanna get notified as soon as bookings open, then leave your email using the link below. The price of this trip is 1,949, but there will also be eight early bird spots available, so if you're one of the first eight people to sign up, you can get a $150 discount, so the whole trip will be 1,799. There are a few things that aren't included in this, such as your flight, any visa that you might need, travel insurance, and also transportation to and from the airport.

Kristin:    00:04:29    But there will be a really easy way to book your transportation directly through the trip portal, and again, it's only about 20 or 30 minutes away. If you're interested in hanging out with me and eight to 24 other people from the Traveling with Kristin community and beautiful Costa Rica, then make sure to leave your email using the link below to get notified as soon as bookings become available on March 1st. At 12:00 PM Eastern, you can save your spot with a 25% fully refundable deposit, so make sure that you sign up quickly so you can be one of the first eight people to save $150 on the trip. Again, those trip dates are August 9th through 12th 2024 in the Gulf of Papagayo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. And if you'd like to be first on the list to sign up when bookings open on Friday, March 1st, then leave your email using the link in the podcast show notes.

Kristin:    00:05:29    Something else I wanted to share with you today is a travel gear company that I've been using since November of last year. It's called Tripped Travel Gear, and they make a lot of great stuff from packing cubes to backpacks to a really cool tech bag organizer and also a toiletries organizer. Their products are very affordable but very high quality in the $30 to $50 range, so definitely worth checking out. I have all of their stuff. I have their hanging toiletry bag set, I have their tech bag organizer, their compression packing cubes, and also their packable lightweight day pack travel backpack. The toiletry set is awesome because it has three different compartments, one of which is detachable and also transparent, so really easy to get through those security lines, and it's also hanging, which makes it really easy to see what you have when you're in your hotel room or Airbnb.

Kristin:    00:06:33    The tech bag I've been using on pretty much a daily basis. I keep my cables organized in there. I have my podcast recorder, my dongles, like USB adapters and things like that, and then the packing cubes. If you know me, you know that I love packing cubes. I've been using them for well over a decade now, and I've just upgraded to these tripped cubes a few months ago, and I've really been liking them. They have two different packing cube sets, so one is for a carry-on only and one is for a checked bag, and then their travel day pack is only 1,995, and it's really cool. It folds up into a tiny little pouch, so it's so small and lightweight that you can put it anywhere. You can put it in a little zipped compartment of your backpack or your suitcase, and then you can just open it, unfold it, and boom, you have a travel day pack that's perfect for just walking around town or going to the co-working space, going on a hike, and I've been using it a lot, especially to carry my DJ equipment or my drone or pretty much anything. Tripped is not sponsoring this podcast.

Kristin:    00:07:50    I just wanted to bring this company to your awareness because it was started by some travel YouTube creators, and I think it's just really cool what they've made and they've created something of really high quality and very useful. I can tell that they chose the products to make based on what is most useful when you're going on a trip. So if you're planning any travel for this spring or summer, definitely check it out and I will leave my Amazon affiliate link in the show notes. They also come in lots of funk colors and patterns as well, so I'm sure you can find something that you like there. And again, remember to leave your email to be notified when the Costa Rica bookings become available this Friday, March 1st at 12:00 PM and I'll see you again next week.
