Ep. 62  What to Do With a Broken Heart

As this episode airs here in the US we are all feeling broken-hearted after two recent mass shootings on top of 1 million COVID deaths, the horrific war in Ukraine, and the accelerating climate crisis on this planet. We are shattered and feel helpless and powerless to do anything about the pain that is overwhelming us collectively. Here are a few things to focus on as we process this grief:

  • Sit with the pain.
  • Write about the pain and anger through poetry, stories, or free-form jibberish.
  • Vocalize the grief by crying, weeping, singing, chanting, screaming, or wailing.
  • Move the grief through your body by running, dancing or grief yoga.
  • Create art.
  • Give of your time or money to causes that are meaningful to you.
  • Travel to a pilgrimage site or ancestral location that has meaning to you.
