Have you ever thought about going to therapy, but only heard horror stories from other people that went?  If so, this episode is for you.  This episode is being dual released in conjunction w/ ShaVanna Spratt, host of Da Hood Talks Podcast.  Last year she reached out to me about partnering with her in her new series called “Da Hood Heals” where she brings different experts on to talk about therapy and the importance of mental health particularly in communities of color.  We agreed that while people often talk about going to therapy and seeking mental health treatment, we don’t tell you HOW to do it.  So we decided to start with the basics.  I’m going to break the episode down into two different episodes, but if you want to watch the full video, you can find it on her Youtube page here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNBgw_oB6UB1O6E2Mq6b6Ag.  In this episode we discuss stigmas associated with therapy, debunk some myths and explain the different types of counselors.   Next week we will talk about identifying emotions.

Have you ever been to therapy?  Did you find it helpful or did you have your own horror story?  We’d love to hear from you. You can leave us a message at www.thetsidepodcast.com
