We listen to another response to the Trump shooting

0:02 Looking at our world from a theological perspective. This is the Theology Central podcast making Theology Central. Good afternoon everyone. It is Monday, July the fifteenth, twenty twenty four. It is currently three twenty pm Central Time, and I am coming to you live from the Theology Central studio located right here in Abilene, Texas. Well I thought this would happen. It's it's kind of occurring in real time, and maybe a little slower than I thought, but it is definitely starting to happen. Have you been paying attention to the sermons two point zero app today? Have you been paying attention to the beta dot sermon audio dot com website. Have you been paying close attention to all the new sermons that are being added? Are you starting to see things like Trump shooting, assassination provident. Are you starting to see a lot of messages with those things in it? Well, I think that you probably are, because they're starting to be added slowly, but surely, maybe not at the number that I first predicted, but they're starting to show up. They're starting to come in, and this to me is the most important part. Like for me, whenever something happens in the culture, whenever something happens in the world, I am most curious to see how the church response, not how the world responds, not how Fox News MSNBCCNN. No, I'm not as worried

1:34 about how they respond. I'm always curious how the church responds because it will demonstrate to me is the church thinking biblically or are they thinking politically? Is the church thinking biblically? Are they thinking based off their own personal opinions or desires? Do they stay biblical? Do they fall into conspiratorial thinking? How which way are they going to go? And like when the pandemic began, I tried to I turned on this microphone and tried to warn churches, You're being handed an opportunity. Here in the midst of great difficulty, tragedy, pain and death, we are being handed a great opportunity. Let's use this. And I tried to warn what not to do well. I knew that once the assassination attempt on the former president president Donald Trump presidential candidate Donald Trump, I knew obviously the world was going to be talking about it. We all knew that you don't have to be very you don't have to have any ability to make any prediction we all knew that, but I knew slowly, but surely the church and Christians would start to respond. Now, I really felt that a lot of the things showing up in the feed on my feed, on the sermon's two point zero app I really thought Sunday would start seeing a lot of Trump related content. But it appears many did not use some did. Some definitely use the pulpit as a way to address it. Some they may have had a sermon about you know, this subject or this passage

3:04 of scripture, but they worked the subject of the Trump assassination attempt in it. Or what they did is they just they may they In some cases, it appears some of them they took like twenty minutes address the Trump situation, cut that, then did the sermon, and which I think is which is interesting, like if you know that's on your mind, instead of letting it kind of hijack your sermon, just get it out of the way, stop that, upload that, then record the sermon and upload that. So a lot of them took various different approaches, and I and I'm glad that they did that. I'm glad that they're offering their thoughts and opinions. My question is. And I told you to be monitoring this and listening because I want you to hear all the different perspectives. But as we listen to how the church is responding, do we feel it's biblical? Now? The very first response I shared with everyone, right from someone else. I mean, I shared my initial response, and whatever you may think about that. But when I shared the first response that I found, remember I received it in an email. That one was troubling and disturbing beyond I don't even know what to say. Their conclusion was, Hey, Christians, as a result of the assassination attempt against Donald Trump, no longer have anything to do with liberals.

4:27 Don't hang out with them, don't have anything to do with them, separate yourself from them, just be done with them, cut them out of your life. And I'm like, wow, I don't know if that is the biblical approach. All right? Then we looked at a response today and the subject of God's providence, God's sovereignty, and God's decrees came up, and we spent a lot of time looking at that. Right, I try to help you understand God's decrees, God's providence. I gave you specific questions to write down. And remember, though, so far, in all of the responses that I've heard so far, all the ones that I've heard so far, remember Corey a Compretour, He's not being mentioned. And Corey Compretour is the man who died at the Trump rally. He was a spectator who died, and he died trying to protect his family. All right, Corey Comparatore, If I'm saying his name correctly, if I'm miss if I'm saying his last name incorrect, please forgive me. I obviously want to get his name right. But Corey Comparatoire, if that name, you need to write that name down. Because so much of this discussion, when it talks about God, when pastors or Christians are talking about God's providence, God's decree, God's protection, God intervening, they just conveniently leave out the person who died,

5:57 and they focus on God preserving, protecting his decree, his providence, and preserving and saving Donald Trump. And it just seems like, I don't know, Look, that bothers me. May not bother you, but it bothers me. But the bottom line is what I'm trying to say in all of this, As the responses are coming in, and I'm doing my very best to monitor the responses. Now, listen, listen, listen, listen, listen. I am not trying to monitor the response simply so that I can criticize. I'm trying to monitor the response to see how the church is thinking and which direction the church is going when it comes to well, not only this cultural, significant tragic event, but how it may continue to respond to other significant tragic cultural events. And as it continues to try, as the church continues to try to respond to what is a you know, could be a very you know, I don't know which direction the culture is going to go. This could become even more divisive, even more. I don't know where things are going to go, but I want to know where the church is at it, how the church is thinking, And by monitoring it, I'm helping you be able to hear all the different perspectives, right because you may be listening to different perspectives than the ones I'm finding. So then you can compare the ones you're listening to to the ones I'm sharing. You can then go listen to the ones I'm sharing with you listen to them all.

7:26 You can also you get to hear my perspective. So you're getting a lot of different perspectives and you can just kind of determine how you're thinking. You can try to compare how all of these other perspectives align are in disagreement with the way you're thinking about this very difficult and tragic situation. So are you ready? This one I found in my feed tab on the sermon's two point oh app. I keep wanting to say my RSS feed, but the feed tab on the Sermon's two point oh app. This one was entitled assassination attempt slash Grace pastor Brian Butler assassination attempt slash Grace. All right, now, now they you know, sermonadio, you can have a long title, but then they want you to give it a short title. So sometimes trying to trying to get a title that you know works as a short title, sometimes you have to just kind of do that. So I called this I think the Trump shooting and Grace only because I'm kind of following the direction they're going to go. I don't know how much of this we're going to review, but we're going to review some of this and just kind of get an idea.

8:37 I don't want this to turn into like a seven part like seven parts to just review one response to the Trump shooting, to the assassination attempt. I want to try to to just monitor a mini over the next week, because I think I think they're going to just slowly. I don't know. I think I think we'll be hearing about this for the next two weeks. PAP. I think a lot of people, a lot of pastors did not touch it Sunday, mainly because well, it happens Saturday, and a lot of pastors are just not are not very good at like here's my sermon, boom, immediately switched to something else. I don't think some pastors may be great at it. I don't think others have a hard time doing that.

9:18 I have no problem. I can. I can change direction one hour before church, fifteen minutes before church if need be. Typically now sometimes I can have a problem. But a lot of times I've been studying, thinking about so many things. I can usually just grab something and for the most part do a halfway decent job. But not everyone can do can do that now, there's times I can't, but there's but usually maybe that's because I haven't been spending as much time thinking, reading, meditating. So I'm not ready, right, and so that's on me, but I think typically I can, and then sometimes you just well, yeah, we can get all kinds of the reasons why. But all right, but I think many Wednesday, those who have Wednesday services definitely address it. And then I think maybe many on this coming Sunday, that's when they're going to address it. I like to, you know, try to deal with things in more real time.

10:09 And I think you know, all the pastors, especially in the sermon's two point oh app, you already have the technology to broadcast, just use the technology to go live at any time and talk about whatever anytime in real time. I think, I think that's a great tool that we have. We can speak to God's people in real time about what's happening in the world. And I and I wish more pastors utilize the technology available to them. I mean, what a great tool. So we will see. But I wanted to at least listen to this one because this one was in my was in my feed on my sermon sermon audio two point oh app. In fact, let me pull up the app right now, all right, So the one, uh, the one here is assassination, attempt slash Grace Pastor Brian Butler.

10:56 Please look it up, download it. I'm gonna go to my feed tab really quick. I'm gonna go to the feet tab I'm doing. All right, what do we have here? We have do people who commit suicide go to Hell? All right? That one was posted twenty three minutes ago. And see what else do we have here? God's decrees and the Trump shooting that's mine about four hours ago. All right, here we go. See here, okay, we have the Albert Mohler, the Briefing Special Edition, God's Sovereignty, Moral Evil, and the attempted assassination. So we reviewed that. We reviewed that. Then if I go further down, Oh, I guess what remember the church who started that did that? What thirty five thirty four part series on Psalm eighty three. Well, ladies and gentlemen, they finished saw eighty three. They are now moved to Psalm one nineteen.

11:54 So that's that's interesting. Okay, I didn't notice that. I just noticed that. All right, there's another one called a response to the shooting of Donald Trump. Oh wait, that's me. Okay, I knew that it was me. I was making a little being that in my own feed I show up numerous times. All right, here we go. Where maybe the one I found wasn't in my feed tab? Where did I find it? Oh? I know where I probably found it? Okay, hang on. I may have found it under the discover tab, discover tab under newest sermons. That's where I found it, all right, That's where I found it.

12:35 All right, So hang on, let me look here. Now, I did not find it in my in the feed tab because most of those in the feedtab. But I'm in the feedtab more than everyone else. So here we go. Let me look here. Okay, what is dispensationalism? All right? That looks good. Every critique of reform dispensationalism, right, those sounds like interesting. Here we go. I'm looking. I'm looking. There's been a lot of things added since the last time I looked, So I'm not fine. Now A lot of this has nothing to do with the situation. I thought more and more were being added. Maybe I was wrong.

13:18 Here, Okay, I'm looking. Okay, Trump has announced his running mate. I've just got a notification about that from Truth Social Okay, all right, hang on, here we go. Yeah, all right, so the all the ones I was seeing must have been I don't know how long ago, because they are they're now. Oh, here we go. Here's one my response to the attempted assassination of Trump. My response to the attempted assassination of Trump. So that was posted. I don't have a time a stamp for that one. Let me see here, Okay, I'm looking here, I'm looking yeah. So they're starting to come in. Some of these now I cannot find because so many things have been added. But they were definitely there a little while ago. I don't even know where I found that other one now, probably I was looking all over the app and came across it. I figured there's gonna be more. I just feel like there's gonna be more. There was more. I can't owe. This one looks good.

14:33 A symbolic hermeneutic interpreting metaphors. Wow, that one looks interesting, all right. So there's always so many things to look at. I just don't know where all the other ones went. But I don't see them currently. Let me go back here, yeah, okay, And I thought under the trending under the trending hashtags, they just have Jesus, Gospel and God. I don't know if those are being updated or not. So more was coming in. I just don't know where they are currently. But somehow, at some point I found this one assassination attempt. Grace obviously wasn't under my UH and my feed tab, so I don't know. This must be from one I don't actually follow. In fact, let me go look here, because now I'm confused, do I actually follow this one or not? Let's go to UH this church. No, I don't follow it. I don't follow it, all right, So that's interesting. Okay, Yeah, I don't follow this church. Okay, So this is Cornerstone Church, right and Indiana?

15:43 All right? So and Cornerstone Church t r A F A lga R. Not even going to attempt that, all right, t R A f A l g A R so somewhere in Indiana. So I don't even follow this one. I'm gonna follow at least in the meantime, so I can ensure that now that message will be added to my feed and I can find it if I need to refer to it again. So I thought more were coming in. Maybe maybe my initial observations were not correct. I thought they were slowly starting to come in. I'll have to do a little bit more look, a little bit more work. I know, I did a search. I did do a search for I think, oh, let me do this. Let's do a search. Let's do a search here and maybe maybe we'll see what happens here. I'm going to do a search. Okay, here we go. There's a bunch of sermons hang on, oh hashtag okay um assassination attempt. All right, there's that. Uh, not as many, not as many as I uh. Actually, some of these Trump ones are old thing about other things. I'm gonna te I'm gonna type in I'm gonna try a different thing. I'm gonna type in trump, hang on, I'm gonna try a couple of different things. I really thought there was gonna

17:21 be more. Maybe I was seeing hang out. Here we go. Yeah, actually a lot of these are not. In fact, mine are the ones at the very top. A lot of these have nothing to do with it. So I don't I don't know what I was seeing. Maybe my maybe my perception was wrong. I really thought more were coming in. If you notice more than I'm currently finding, let me know. I apologize for that delay. But yeah, I was I thought more were coming in. Maybe what I'm seeing, Maybe what I was seeing and I'm confusing it. I do get lots of notifications from all my podcast apps, like all lot of notifications, So maybe I was seeing all those notifications and just in my mind saying thinking I was seeing that on the sermon's two point oh app.

18:07 Obviously I can't find anything. I don't even I can't even find the one that I pulled up. And I know I saw it on the sermon's two point oh app because that's where I'm listening to it on. So it showed up somewhere. I don't know where I found it. And when I was looking when I got ready to pull this one up, when I got ready to pull this one up, I found I found a bunch of hang on, let me see here, let me try it this way. Now I'm gonna and now I'm now now see here. Uh no, really weird. Yeah, So there's gotta there's gotta be a way. There's gotta be a way to I don't get to do a better search, or something's going on.

18:53 We will see. I'm still predicting that more responses will come in. But as the responses come in, so at this point. I'm I'm actually doing pretty good catching up and staying caught up with all the responses coming in at least on the sermon's two point oh app. So I maybe it's going to be a delay. We'll see. Well, look Wednesday and Sunday. If there's no responses Wednesday or Sunday, then I guess for the most part, the church is just not going to talk about it. They're just going to kind of ignore it and move on, which is which is interesting. So I know, I saw another one on the sermon's two point o app something about Trump shooting and providence, and that's nothing to do with mine.

19:33 This was from another one. So yeah, interesting, So we'll see. We'll keep an eye. It is telling, like, I don't know how you feel about that. Do you think the church should be quicker to respond or the church is doing it right and either not responding or waiting. Now, in some ways, there's value in waiting. There definitely is. But let's listen to the one I have queued up. I apologize for all of that, but hey, we're trying to we're trying to monitor it in real time. I was perceiving more. We're coming in and if I'm wrong, you got to correct yourself live on the air. I was wrong, obviously, all right, So let's look at this and let's see how they approached it. Here we go, so we are in Galatian six. But you're like, oh, okay, I would be amiss not to speak of it about the events of things that happened yesterday a little bit. There was an assassination attempt on President Trump, and that's what it was. It was not he fell. It was not that he heard a loud noise and ducked, as the mainstream media is reporting, someone was three inches from shooting him in the center of the forehead. That's a saund Okay, well, this is off to a bad start. It was assassination attempt, not like the mainstream is saying. Okay. I literally subscribe to every known news source in the

21:06 history of humankind, all right, from the New York Times, CNN, MSBC, AL Jazeera, Sky News, you you just named BBC, every Fox, you name the Associated Press orters, you just named the New NPR. I subscribe to every single news podcast in literally existence, and over and over and over, all of my podcast notifications have said assassination attempt assassination atipt, assassination attempt. Let me just give you a couple of quick examples. I got one just a few minutes ago from CNN. But here's one Donald Trump explains get my shoes comment during assassination attempt. This is from that ultra conservative website known as the Huffington Post. That's a liberal site. So I don't okay, where the hey, this was an assassination attempt, not like the mainstream media. What do you mean the main the mainstream media. I got notifications from CNN, NPR, New York Times, you name the source.

22:10 Assassination attempt, assassination attempt, assassination attempt. Now, yes, essential at the very beginning, right when the when the first reports came out, right when the first reports, the very initial reports. So initially there was a little pause before someone called it an assassination attempt. Right, there was a pause. And that's what any good journalists should do, right, I have to be Now he was recording this on Sunday. By Sunday, ever, people were already referring to it as an assassination attempt. So to say the mainstream media like to try to look, there's already enough division. We don't need to be util the mainstream media and then us. So many times when I it's usually conservatives, we'll say, yeah, the mainstream media doesn't want you to see this, and it'll be like five seconds in Google.

23:07 Well, there's fifty seven articles from mainstream media. Looks like they're definitely talking about it. So you're just lying. The mainstream media is calling it an assassination attempt. I wish I could pull up my CNN notifications. Let me see here, I've got so many here, let me look here. Let's let's see here. Let's see here. There's BBC Associated Press, NBC News, the Ben Shapiro, oh here, and now anytime. This is from NPR, Trump assassination attempt. That's NPR, all right, Oh, CNN the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump that was just twenty eight minutes ago. All right, I can go on and on. Don't tell me that they're not calling it and that's just so not accurate. See, this is the thing. When we're gonna talk about these issues as Christians, we got to ensure that we are stating things factually. If you want to blame someone, I'm not part of the mainstream media, and even when I first started talking about it, I was very careful about do we call it an assassination to it because we don't know some details yet, we got to be very careful. Does that make me liberal? Does that make me have an agenda?

24:18 Or does that make me trying to be very careful to be accurate, because I even as right now we don't really have a motivation, We don't have the motivation of the shooter. I think they're still trying to get into the shooter's phone and trying to see if he was communicating with anybody else, and that was the last I had heard, so they're still trying to paint that picture. But I even stated numerous times I'm going to call it an assassination attempt because when someone takes a gun and tries to shoot a former president or a presidential candidate, I think we can call that an assassination attempt. I think so so, And I even stated if this doesn't meet the technical definition, I apologize. Now, why would I go through all of that because I'm spiritual, not because I'm godly, only because I'm trying to be as accurate as possible. So, yes, the very initial reports because I remember what initially when I heard that there had been some kind of shooting at the Trump rally, there was like no details. The first thing I think I saw was from the Associated Press, and it was something like loud noises, loud pops heard at Trump rally. It was very it was very vague, right like, it was very like they were trying to confirm exactly what happened. And then maybe fifteen minutes boom, then Trump shot Trump. And then immediately, probably within a couple of hours, the headline started rolling.

25:45 I know by Sunday, not or by Saturday night, late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, assassination attempt was already showing up a number of headlines. So that this is off to a bad start. This is off to a bad start. So what can we learn from this when we respond to national tragedy, cultural events. The Church needs to be the source of precise, accurate information to the best of our ability. If the church, here's the thing, If the church, and many in the Church are very convinced of this, that all of the media lies under the power of the evil One.

26:27 Therefore we cannot trust it. If that's going to be our approach our stance. They're all liberals, they're all ungodly. We cannot trust any of them. Now, it's fascinating. Well, the church in many cases will point the finger at all the mainstream media and condemn it. They still will support Fox News that will sued for defamation for our billion dollars and ended up paying what seven hundred and fifty seven million dollars because they lied about the entire election being stolen. They gave a false gave false information, they misrepresented and from a thilological, biblical perspective, they bore false witness and Christians bought into it. And so wait a minute, if you're so mad at them, if you're gonna be met at CNN, in PR and the rest, then why not Fox News? They got something horribly, horribly, horribly wrong and had to pay for it. And there's still another lawsuit from smartmatic is Fox News has to deal with that. Newsmax got sued. There were a bunch of those ultra conservative news media they got sued for their false information. But Christians don't care about that. That's I can't stand that. That's just that's not about truth, that's just bias. If the church is so concerned that the news media has it all wrong. Well, then, ladies and gentlemen, that's a very important ministry. Then for the church to try to provide that we're going to be the source of good information. We're gonna be We're

28:00 going to be the ones who are going to ensure that we're accurate, that we're clear, we are concise, and we're going to help people know exactly what's going on in the world as it's going on with factual information. Now, I don't know if you're going to hire a team of journalists to go investigate every I don't know what you're going to rely on to get your information, but you're going to be relying on something. So all I'm saying is, if the church is going to criticize everyone else, then it's the church's job to provide what you say everyone else is doing wrong. The church doesn't want to actually put forth the effort of the time to do that right. Well, and you may say, well, it's not the church's job, Okay, Well, then whose job is it going to be? And whatever standard you use to criticize one source, you have to criticize all the source by that same standard. Well, I know one thing. Don't criticize others for getting something wrong. Well, you're getting something wrong because I can clearly demonstrate and right here on my iPad in real time, all right, and real time, I was wrong about how many messages were coming in about this situation, and so I immediately corrected myself in real time as I was verifying and checking, and in real time I could verify and check everything from NPR, CNN, and the Huffington Post is using the term assassination attempt. So it's not that the mainstream is that's that's oh, that's not even helpful.

29:27 So we're going to back this up again. All right, this is we're off to a rough start, so we are in Galatian six. But you're like, oh, okay, I would be amiss not to speak of it about the events of things that happened yesterday a little bit. There was an assassination attempt on President Trump, and that's what it was. It was not he fell, it was not that he heard a loud noise and ducked, as the mainstream media is reporting, someone was three inches from shooting him in the center of the forehead. That's assassination attempt and it's not that there has an attempt that they attempted to shoot him. They did shoot him, just by God's providential grace. It went through his a year Okay, So it was by God's providential grace that the bullet went through his ear. God's providential grace. God guided and directed the entire situation so that Trump would be shot through the ear. Now, will he name the individual who was shot and killed? And he's he going to then say it was by God's providential grace that this man was killed at the exact same event. Now, maybe he's going to mention him, maybe he's not. But just there's that providential grace

31:02 concept, providential grace. And what about all the other people on Saturday who died from cancer, murder, all the other horrible things that happened Saturday around the world. God's providential grace allowed them all to suffer and die, but it showed up at a specific location for Trump to spare him. Now, that's okay if you go with providential grace. But if you're going to say God's decree, God's providential grace, you've got to also then say God controlled decreed. Whatever comes to pass that includes all the other horrible things and not cause more damage. Killed at least one behind him, has injured others, And I feel for those people that are there just to show support in a free country to be able to do so. He shot. Now, praise God, he did mention the people who were shot, and he gets emotional about it. I'm very grateful for that. Now he doesn't mention providence or grace or God's decree or God's sovereignty and light of the people who died.

32:21 And so far, in all the responses that mentioned providence or anything like that, it's only applied to what the positive for Trump, and it's not applied to any of the negative or the negative is not even mentioned. In fact, a man who's shot, nobody even really wants to the man who was shot and killed, who was attending the rally, Nobody ever really wants to say his name. In fact, that the name. At this point, when it's all said and done, all anyone's going to remember is that Donald Trump was shot, and the man who actually died, I don't even know if anyone's even going to remember his name. Those that were injured, well, the event itself is shocking because when you hear Dave first sent me my first contact, and I thought just said shots fired, and I didn't read far enough to see that that he was hit. So it's just shocking enough the event that it happened at all. But it's not shocking that it did happen because in the last few weeks there have been people out calling for his assassination openly. In the last few weeks, there have been people calling for the assassination of Donald Trump openly. All right. Now, that's a very big claim. That's a very big claim. I remember this is all being stated in church. So he stated that the mainstream media wouldn't call it an assassination attempt. I've clearly demonstrated that's not the case. So now he doesn't

33:52 tell me which people have been openly calling for the assassination of Donald Trump over the last few weeks. All Right, So I'm gonna I'm gonna do something. Okay, over the last few weeks, has there been open calls for the assassination of Donald Trump. I'm gonna be utilizing some AI programs here.

34:35 Okay, Well, they don't have the information yet, all right, So I'm gonna try this. Okay, I'm gonna try this, Okay, I'm gonna try it differently, all right, and I'm not finding Yeah, I'm not finding anything currently. I'm not saying it's not there. I'm not saying it's not there. Here's what I would say when we're talking about this.

35:36 So we're gonna say, hey, it's not shocking does someone try to assassinate President Trump, because over the last few weeks there have been open calls for his assassination. Probably what should follow is here's number one, here's the source, here's the individual. Here's number two, here's the source, here's the individual. Here's number three. Here. I'm not saying that that it's not the case. I'm not saying it is the case. I'm saying that in real time I cannot verify this. And all I'm saying is, if you're upset that the mainstream media, according to your accusation, was not getting the term right assassination attempt, even though I've got clear proof that they are. If your next accusation is, hey, it's not shocking that President Trump would be shot because there's been people openly calling for his assassination, then we need to find who those individuals are, where the sources are and then they need to be made public and pointed out and say did this contribute? Is this is what? Was the shooter influenced by these open calls? Did he know that these calls were occurring? Did he read these? Did he see the video? Did he see the TikTok? Did he see YouTube? Why didn't YouTube or TikTok take it down? Did the Secret Service visit these individuals who made these open calls? I mean, I mean, if you know that there's been open calls, you probably need to contact the FBI and go, Hey, on Monday of that very week, there was an open call for to assassinate President Trump by this source. You probably need to call contact the

37:08 FBI and let them know, right, I mean, wouldn't wouldn't that be your responsibility? Hey, there's been open calls for his assassination? Did you let did you see these? Did you tell somebody? Did you inform somebody? Did you let did you did you did you see it on YouTube and report it to YouTube? Did you report it to Facebook? Did you report it? Did you report it to the FBI? Did you contact the FBI and go, Hey, there's this website, there's this guy on YouTube, he's calling for the open assassination of Donald Trump. Can you look into it? I mean, do you have a moral responsibility to report it? If you know this was happening, did you have any responsibility? I think this is a These are valid questions. We have free speech in Maerkers, supposed to you, but not for something like that. We don't. You can't call for the death of others. You can't. It's not right. We don't do it. That's a misuse of the freedom and how it is.

38:07 And so I don't know what we are allowing to go on anymore now. Now I completely agree that we can't do that, But like you can't, people can't be allowed to make calls for killing people. I agree. So if you saw it, where did you see it? What platform? Who was platforming it? I mean that, I mean, I really, I mean, I am seriously. I want to know where these open calls were coming from. He said. In the past few weeks, there have been open calls, open calls for the assassination of Donald Trump. Now, I saw some horrible things stated after the fact. After the fact, there was a TikTok that was going viral where someone was saying it was her worst day in her life because Trump was not killed. Horrible. I'm under now, what I saw was a report on the on it. So my understanding is that had already been reported and already been taken down. So my understanding.

39:10 So, but I didn't go I don't have TikTok, so I didn't, you know, look it up to verify. And now I probably should have looked it up to verify at that but at that point, it wasn't calling for someone to be killed. It was just someone's disappointment that someone wasn't killed. Now you can you can judge the morality of that versus the legality of that all day. But the point is that's a massive claim. That's a massive, massive claim being made from a pulpit inside a church and with no source being given. See this is only This is one of the issues with addressing these types of things from a Christian perspective, because we're held to a standard do not bear false witness, put away lying, speak the truth.

39:57 We have very specific guidelines and how we are suppor to handle these issues. And this is what when I told you I was going to be paying attention to how the church is going to be responding to this situation. These are the kind of things I'm looking for, right, how are we going to respond? So maybe he has the sources. I wish he would have given them. I wish he would have laid them down. I wish he would have provided them because that would be great, right because then we could go, Okay, wait a minute, so that was out right? Is it still there? Did someone take it down? Did someone report it? Did anybody know? Did the Secret Service know that there was these open calls for assassination being that were so open that well, even a pastor in a church knew that they were out there. I mean, it had to be pretty well known. I'm assuming less he's got some you know, if it's open, it's going to be everywhere. So I mean, maybe I'm not saying they weren't there. I'm not saying they were. I don't know. I have no way of verifying any of this. Not only have they called for his death, they've raided his home to the point where, wait a minute, not only did they call for his death, they raided his home.

41:14 Okay, who is the they who called for his death? The they who called for his death? Are not that they who raided his home. The they who rated his home was the FBI because Trump did not turn over documents that he was told to turn over. So he so the they who are the theys? They openly called for his assassination and his death, and they raided his home. Now, ladies and gentlemen, this is how a church is responding to this shooting and a church service. Who the they who rated?

41:54 So are you now implying that that they who raided the home had some connect to They called openly for his death and they. I am perplexed by that transition. Now, I look, I misspeak all the time, right, I miss speak all the time all the time. Right, So I understand standing up and not speaking clearly. But that seems like a big You're correlating the assassination attempt to the FBI raiding his home because he had documents he was told to turn over that he did not turn over. Now, so we got to represent these situations in a correct way. Oh man, Okay, I'm gonna back these up. I'm gonna back this up a little bit.

42:45 That is such a weird transition. Right here we go a few weeks there have been people out calling for his assassination openly. We have free speech in America, are supposed to, but not for something like that. We don't. You can't call for the death of others. You can't. It's not right. We don't do it. That's that's a misuse of the freedom, how it is. And so and I want to remember, I want to just remind people that if you go back to the Obama administration, in his time as president, there was some very strong language by many who called for well, let's say, many Christians were saying that we're playing praying and precatory prayers in order to have Obama removed. All right, all right, so hang on, hang on, let me see if I can verify that I remember dealing with all of that, and I probably can find messages.

43:52 All right, here we go. CNN reporter confronts g OP nominee who called for Obama to be executed. Here's the news story and as has the interview. He's kind, he's confronting the person, like you, called for Obama to be executed. That's right there, a conservative GOP Republican calling for Obama to be executed. That's only took five seconds for uh, for me to find that all right, So there, so I already found one, already found one. All right, Uh, hang on, okay, all right, wait, okay, oh there's uh there's the Washington Post, uh, tracking how churches were responding to the assassination attempt on Trump. That see, that's interesting. All right, So I've already found one. I could probably find more. But there were there were I know, I can find sermon I can find I know, I I know I covered it. I may even have audio before before. But there were there were conservatives who called for the assassination basically the killing of Obama. So let's just make sure we this is not a one sided thing there. If they're anyone who's done it to Trump, that's wrong, and everyone who did it to Obama that was wrong.

45:17 And I remember some of that backlash. I remember that some of that because I was right in the middle of fighting against it and I was reviewing sermons, going what in the world is this. He's basically calling for Obama, for God to kill Obama, and I'm like, what is happening? And it's an unprecatory it's an apprecatory prayer. Well, then someone could pray, and a precatory prayer to have Trump killed, and you would be okay with that. I mean, see, that's that so u oh boy. Anyone who calls for the assassination or killing of a political leader because you disagree, I'm sorry, ladies and gentlemen. That's the problem on both sides.

45:58 But again, it took me five seconds to find where someone called for the assassination of Obama. Now I'm not saying I can't find those for Trump. I haven't found it yet. But he said in the last few weeks, the last few weeks, they were open, and he made it sound like they were plural many right. But then this is where it gets weird. I don't know what we are allowing to go on anymore. Not only have they called for his death, they've raided his home to the point where they went through not only his things, but they went through his wife's things. They went through his young son's things. And I pray for Bearing a lot, because his older children they understand, they get it, you know.

46:44 But he was a young child when his dad was a president, and one of the first things that really broke my heart for him was when he was Kathy Griffin had an effigy of Trump's head and it was covered in blood and she was holding like she cut his head off. And he saw that and his dad wasn't with him. He thought someone had killed his dad and cut his head off. It's like, should a child have to go through that just because his dad's president, is that allowed in our country to do those things? And so they went through his room and they did all that when they stormed his house down to Marlago, and I feel for him. And then because I remember our house being robbed when we were children and how much that upset me because I remember part of what they did is they went through and robbed our home as they took my and my brother's pillow cases and had turned him inside out, like that's where we kept all the family blow you know, and I like sleeping on my dad's gone. They went through all that, and they ate our peeps and they drank our PEPSI he was the little things, you know. They took valuable things that we had, But it was like they violated the trust of the comfort of my home, you know, by someone being in there. And I remember that bothered me for a long time. And so he's comparing the FBI executing a legal order to go in and search for these documents, like someone breaking into your house.

47:55 Like the whole thing here is like I don't even understand what's going going on here. And but if you if you do a search, if you do a search for yeah, if if you do a search for Obama on the sermon's two point, oh app ladies and gentlemen, you'll find you'll find some You'll find some very let's just say, bewitched Obama mark of the of the beast, seven years of Obama. I mean, there there is some Obama isis Uh did Obama just say he's a Muslim? I mean there is some crazy things on here. There's some crazy things on here, and I'm telling you some of these things are probably disturbing beyond all comprehension. And that's all on the sermon's two point oh app. You can just you can do a search for and find some of the crazyness, because I remember back then some of the craziness going on. But I don't know how he's so this is crazy. So the assassination, the calls for Trump's assassination that were open, and then they that weird transition. They rated his home, they his was that not the proper authority. I mean Trump could have just turned over the documents, right could he have not just turned over the documents or call for

49:29 Hey, I'll turn the documents over to a judge, and then the judge can can we find a way that these can be held? If Trump really believed they belonged to him and they were his, then he could have made it a legal argument, not just keep a mens house, right, I mean, could there not have been I mean, we could get into all kinds of discussions and the way that goes down. But I mean, you know, if someone's like, you have property that is not yours, return it, no return it? No? Well I returned it, Well I didn't return everything. Well, then we're coming to get it. Well then, I mean, I mean, come on, I don't know how that that is being viewed as like basically like someone breaking into your house and taking what is not yours. But were they not taking what belonged to the government?

50:10 Like oh that'd because all right, this gets this is getting interesting. But let's see where this goes. Boy, sure it's bothered him to have your government come in and do that to you. He's been taken to court He's been found guilty by rules that have only been applied to one case in the history this case. They have put false and proven false accusations against him again and again, and they keep floating them. And now a shot so close that it went through his ear. You can't get much closer. Now again, he's making all these assertions rules that have only been applied to which which which court case? Are you Are you saying that those are the only rules ever applied to one person? Are you saying when he was fine liable for sexual assaul like that's just you're just throwing out the woman's claim, like that's just false. I'm not saying, you know, we can make an argument whether her claim was true or false, but you would have to have some way of proving it's true or false. Obviously a jury went along way and everyone can I mean, look, where is it. Why isn't any of this being spoken of in church? This is all not You're making accusations.

51:21 And when you say these accusations are false, you're calling the people who made the accusations liars. Well, who are you calling a liar? The woman who says she was sexually assaulted? Are you saying the porn star who claims she had sex with Donald Trump is lying. Well, now, if you're making an accusation that they were lying, you've got to go prove that they were lying. And if you can't prove it, you're bearing false witness, which is literally what violation of the actual law of God. From the pulpit like this, we can't respond to the shoev with just now making wild accusations against everyone, just making wild, wild accusations against the FBI, wild accusations against people who made accusations against trust. We just we just can't do this. This is not the way the church is to respond. You can take each individual case and if you've got evidence that these accusations were false, please get all out of the pulpit and go to your Go find an attorney, Go find a judge, Go give them your evidence that the accusations are false. How do you know they were false? He's found guilty, but you know that the accusation was false based off what did God tell you.

52:50 See, this is why on the first night I was so discouraged, I was so despondent because I was afraid that this is going to turn into this that the church is not going to respond like the Bible. We're gonna respond like we're Fox News again. If you've got evidence that the accusations made against false Donald Trump were false, then go prove it. Please help the man out who was found liable for sexual assault, who was found liable for defamation, Get him off to help him, help the help them overturn, overturn the court case. Go prove it. Don't be behind a pulpit telling everyone it was false. Go demonstrate it. And if you've got proof that the rules were only applied to Donald Trump and the only time in history, will then demonstrate it. I mean you've you've read all the I mean, do you understand when you get into legality and court cases, you would have to be going through all all the legal briefs. You would have to go, Okay, there were this case so and so versus so and so. Do you realize that lawyers have to have people hired to go research all of these things to bring up all of the case history. Do you under like you can't just get behind a pulpit and just make that Where did you hear that?

54:15 Where did you get Where's your source that that's true? Is it from a legal scholar or from Fox News Newsmax Alex Jones, where where there's no sourcing anything. He's just making all of these dogmatic assertions and light of a shooting. Well, all this does is create animosity and anger in the people in the pulpit that everyone's out to get Donald Trump and we've got to defend him. Who wha, whoa, whoa. How about we slow down and we let every and we handle each specific issue that you have brought up in a careful, concise way. And if we can prove that something is not fair or accurate or right, then let's do so. And if we can't, then maybe we shouldn't say so. With a fatal shot there and one of the most shocking things as you hear this, you're like, how how an American? Why? But on X the trends from his opponents today were, how do you miss Really we don't have enough empathy for our fellow man that your thing is, oh you missed him. That's sick. I absolutely believe it's sick. I am complete agreement with you. We are in agreement, and it's sick when people say things about Obama or about his wife, things were sick when they said things about Hillary or things were sick, when

55:49 people under you know, played down and try to disregard the seriousness of what happened on January the sixth at the Capitol Building. So yeah, but that's why politics left and right is a discussing cesspool that Christians should have nothing to do with because all it is is misinformation, false information, accusatory information. And we are to rise above that and say no, no, no, no, no, no, no, y'all play in the cesspool. We're staying out of it because our focus is on truth and Christ and and and salvation, and that's what we are to do. But I agree that if that was trending on X, that's that's really disturbing. I agree that.

56:35 I agree. Now I would like to know when it was that. Was that a trending hashtag? I hadn't seen that that was a trending hashtag. If it was, that is that is a problem. It may have been. I'm not saying it was, not saying it wasn't, but I had I had not seen or heard a report that that was a trending topic. But it is troubling. Minute that's evil if you look at me to Isaiah five, mark your spot insculations. We'll get there. Isaiah five. We often quote this, but I wanted you to see it today as we live it. Isaiah five, verse twenty. Sorry, Isaiah five twenty says, whoa, this is a woe. This is like in revelation. There's woes.

57:38 There's not too many woes in the Bible. But this is like, man, it's bad on you. If you have a woe pronounced from God, and God's man on you, woe unto them that call evil good and good evil, They that put darkness for light and light for darkness, and the I'm gonna interrupt his reading of Isaiah five, and I would just like you to hear this. And the context of President Obama, there were instances where individuals publicly expressed and precatory prayers against him. For instance, Wiley Drake, a former Southern Baptist Convention officer, stated that he was praying in precatory prayer against President Obama. Drake believed that these prayers aligned with God's will, and we're a way of agreeing with God's judgment. However, it is crucial to recognize that this perspective is not universally accepted among Christians. And then there's a number of news sources here about this, Baptistnews dot com, beliefnet dot com, at Liganeer dot org. So some of these are actually Christian sites showing that there were at least cases where preachers and pastors were praying and precatory prayers for God basically to have Obama killed or to kill him so or to destroy him. So that was. So I just want to make sure that we understand, Hey, hey, this was This's what's happening within Christianity.

59:01 I remember it because I remember being shocked by it, and I remember a lot of it being discussed all over mainstream media and the news. So let's just make sure this stuff happens. And it's wrong on both sides. It's wrong on both sides. But he's reading Isaiah five, all right. Verse twenty, I believe, is where he started. Let me catch us up. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Now let me make it very clear. You know what is also bad is when we stand behind the pulpit and while we are addressing evil, we engage in literally breaking the law of God by bearing false witness, making accusations with no proof, or possibly sharing fraudulent information, which is just right out a lie that is evil. While addressing evil, or at least you could call it if you don't like the word evil, it's clearly a violation of God's law, which would make it sinful. But bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter, well would to them that cast confusion is the way He's saying, those who take what God has set up as good and then you make it evil, and take that what God has said was evil and you make it good. That describes our day, that describes our times. I can't believe still that in America one of the main platforms is how we can

1:00:32 kill babies. And the scariest thing is that we still have four months until the election. I fear that the evil is not over, but it's just beginning. And so I guess part of my call is I love for you to be awake and be aware and be prepared. Look at Sick and Timothy, because God's people always have a heads up and a head start, because we are prepared people for a prepared place and so we should live a prepared life in the sense that we are ready, that we are not easily shaken, that we are not thrown off course by the things that are going on.

1:01:19 That we know who our God is, we know what our God does, and we know how we're to behave. And so I'm just kind of giving us a recalibration here. So tewod Timothy chapter three, verse one says this, know that in the last days, perilous time shall come. It's going to get dangerous. And if we're in the last days, which I told you on Wednesday night we were talking about Peter's sermon ladies and gentlemen for the one millionth time, two Timothy three is referencing what is going to be going on inside the church. Let me demonstrate but know this that in the last day, perilous times will come, for men will be lovers of themselves.

1:02:04 Ladies and gentlemen. That can't be describing the last days as far as in the world. All of a sudden, men are going to be lovers of themselves. Men have been lovers of themselves since the fall. That's always been true, all right, They're going to be lovers of money, that's always been true. Boasters, always true, proud, always true, blasphemers. Well, people outside the church have always been blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slender, without self control, brutal despisers of good traders, headstrong, haughtie, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Clearly, that's not describing the last days, because that's always been true in the world.

1:02:47 Ladies and gentlemen, this is Paul telling Timothy what will come to the church. This will be what the church is in the last days. You're gonna look up at the church, and the church is going to be filled with people who are men who love themselves, they love money. They're boasters, they're proud, they're blasphemers, they're disobedient to parents. They're unthankful, they're unholy, the unloving, they're unforgiving, they're slanderous, they're without self control, brutal despises of good traders, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. They have a form of Godliness but deny its power. It's going to be the church. This is describing the church. This is not describing the world. This is what the church is gonna look like when you get to the last days, as you put it, or in the last days, when we get to the perilous times, it's gonna be You're gonna look at your church. You're gonna be like, what in the world is going on in the church? The church is just going to be open, just complete craziness, not the world. That would describe the world in every age, and in some ways it describes all of us in every age, because that's true inside of us. But this is gonna be just open outward anarchy. They're gonna have a form of godliness, though, but they're gonna deny. They're just gonna live in open, complete rebellion without any concern. That's what it's describing. It's not describing the world. That's describing the church. And he declares from the Book of Joel that at the

1:04:18 outpoint of the Holy Spirit that came upon them like tongues of fire, that they verified it by speaking out and people heard in different languages. He says, this is the fulfillment of that that shows that we are in the last days that is the kickoff to the Last days. I think we're still in the days of Pentecost, and many do because Pentecost was the day of harvest. We are in the harvest, and there'll be a day when God has it all mapped out on how the harvest is the work. There's the first fruit that was Jesus Christ, and he actually was the first fruit. On the day of first Fruits, he presents himself as the first fruit. And then God says he will then give the harvest. The harvest is the church. He's now bringing us in, bringing the wondering ones of Jesus. We sing about it, and then it ends with an end gathering that after the main harvest happens, which is the harpadzo or the rapture or the taking away of the Church. There's a seven year tribulation where it's like the Book of Bruce where they glean the corners, and it is a time where it says that as many as the sands of the sea gets saved from every tongue tribe in nation. And so there's going to be a great soul harvest during the tribulation. But we are in this last days, nearing the last part of the church, which would be the end of that. So we are in some perilous times. I think we see that in Liko verse thirteen, same chapter Siga Timothy three thirteen. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse deceiving and being deceived. It says that they are going to use deception.

1:05:42 We live in a day the fake news, cheap fakes is the this is the White House supposed to call and others, and then you find out that they're not cheap fakes, that they're real, but they didn't. So we have all this that's going on. But we have the time of deception where we went to watch and test well even though our eyes are seen, and so we need to walk closer to the Lord, closer to his state, they'd close to the truth, so that the lie would be exposed to us, and so we got to watch where we feed on. We got And it interesting that sometimes in sermons who we can say things that are utterly completely false, completely misleading, possibly just full blowne deception, but we're always telling us that we got to watch out for the world and all of its deception. I'm more worried about the half truths, mistruths, misinformation, disinformation, false acquisitions that happened from Pulpits not what happens in the world. Watch what we're taking in the Bible maps out our times as birth pains. He's like, hey, there's gonna be a bad time for a while, and then it'll be a time of calm. Think about the in stage of pregnancy.

1:06:45 That's how it is, right, it's getting close. That might be today when it's your first one. You're like, here it is, you got it all packed and you're ready. But then it's like, uh, false contraction. You might even gone to the hospital and they're like, it's gonna be a while yet. Then you wait a little while and you just get a little bit more comfortable, and the other one comes in here, and then it's a little bit harder, a little more severe, but then it backs off. That's what Jesus says, with the last days will be like a time of birth pains. Well be contractions will be hard. There'd be a time of calm and people go back to normal and they'll forget what it was like. But it gets a little worse, and the little pause a little worse, a little pause a little worse until the point that brings to tribulation. Here's what we can do. Look at verse fourteen. But continue, thou and the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom that you have learned them. We are not to be easily shaken. We're to be continue in the things that we have learned.

1:07:41 We know. Now I will stop there, and I will say a hearty amen. We are to continue and those things that we've learned right here scripture. We are to continue in the scriptures. We are to continue to conduct ourselves, not in accordance with a political party, not in accordance with the cultural ideas. We are to conduct ourselves in light of scripture and show what should we do. We should love our enemies. We should turn the other cheek. We should resist not evil. We should overcome evil with good. We should not be overcome by evil, but we should overcome evil with good. We should speak the truth and love, put away lying, bear not false witness. We should be accurate. We should be careful with what we say. We should be thoughtful. We should be logical. We should do adequate research. We should not be making claims that are not true. We should not be making accusations that are not true. We should conduct ourselves the best of our ability in scripture, are we going to do it right?

1:08:38 No? Are we going to fall short? Absolutely, but we acknowledge where we fall short, and we get back up and we try. This is what we must do, and this during this time. Now you can go listen to the rest of that. As an assassination attempt slash Grace didn't really say much about Grace. Didn't really say much about Grace. Now, maybe what he's going to do is, I think this is really his title is assassination attempt slash Grace because the Grace parties are in the Book of Galatians. So I'm assuming then he's going to then stop this and transition and go back to the Book of Galatians. So it's really two messages, and one instead of just doing the assassination attempt ending the audio say all right, save that file. Now let's start a new recording that that's what you probably should have done, and then you have both of them separate. But okay, so that's what he attempted to do. But that is another response to the shooting of Donald J. Trump. And that is now that's on the sermon's two point. Oh app and I challenge you to continue to look and see how Christians are responding. Again, I just saw I was at the Washington Post when we were doing when I was doing research about other things. Where was it? Did I save it in my notes? Let me see here if I saved it? Okay here? Uh oh wait no, oh, I gotta to get access. I have to so yeah, that's not going to be helpful. All right, Yeah, I gotta find it. Maybe it

1:10:11 was the Washington Post that they were talking about how churches have responded to this. So the world's monitoring our response. The world is monitoring the response of Christians to the shooting. So I'm not the only one monitoring it. Church there, the world's going to monitor. And what are they going to hear? Are they going to hear a biblical scriptural response? Are they going to hear something other? Are they going to hear something other? Are they going to hear us say things that may not even be accurate or true from the pulpit? See if the world it's like You're like, well, it's an assassination attempt. Even though the mainstream media won't call it that. Well, I got how many different things to prove that that's just literally not true.

1:10:54 When the world hears that, they're going to be like, oh, these Christians, they can't even get their fact straight. Understand, we can always mess up. Nobody is going to be perfect in public speaking, nobody. So all we can do is correct it. So I mean, obviously they can turn on a microphone and correct it in five point two seconds, right, it'd be easy to correct it. Can add audio to the beginning of it. Hey, and what you're about to hear is what I stated on Sunday. In this I make the following claims. And these claims are not verified or not true, or not accurate, or I have no proof of the veracity of these claims. These are on my own personal opinions, and you have to take them as an opinion, not as statements of fact.

1:11:34 You could just offer something along those lines. I don't know where it's going. I have a bad feeling. I just have a bad feeling. I'm hoping. I'm trying to be optimistic. So what we have so far is this is kind of what we've witnessed a lot of discussion about providence and the decrees of God basically intervening to protect Donald Trump. Nobody wants to mention the name of the man who was shot and killed, because well, then you would have to argue God's decrees and Providence called for that man to die, and that's going to be Nobody wants to talk about that in church because that makes everyone uncomfortable. And then what we're getting is a lot of accusations and claims that don't even really seem to make any sense, Like they called for his assassination, and they you would think that that. They then would refer to the previous they raided his home as if someone was breaking in and doing an illegal thing.
