Surgical Trauma Recovery Coach

Hi I'm Kim,

37, from the UK, living in New Zealand. World traveler, boxer, outdoor enthusiast, foodie.

How I got here:

After growing up with PTSD from medical trauma from pioneering hip dysplasia surgery at age 4. I became acutely aware that medical trauma, is a global issue that is not talked about in pre patient care. From kids, to grown women, patients were experiencing trauma in hospital without the emotional guidance and after care they need.

This leads to elevated levels of anxiety and depression as the trauma causes emotional and physical disconnection. I spent years feeling unworthy, depressed and disassociated. Over the years, I would relive my trauma, putting myself back into hospital all over the world. It was only until I accepted and faced my traumas I was able to rebuild the confidence to take on the world, spreading awareness through my experiences.

In 2024, I launched Scarred & Fabulous to help other women who are struggling with the aftermath of medical trauma heal emotionally and thrive. I am building Scarred & Fabulous to be a safe haven for women to share their experiences without judgement or embarrassment. They will find support and encouragement along with tools to manage trauma, reframe their experiences and build the confidence to be their true selves.
