About

The Post-Graduate Pharmacist is all about helping candidates achieve their short and long-term goals by successfully preparing for and applying to post-graduate opportunities.  From the typical pharmacy residency, to fellowships, post-doctoral programs, and everything in between.  Drs. Sean Smithgall and Taylor Steuber live and breath everything related to Post-Graduate Training preparation.  They both completed residents themselves and have been teaching resident prep in their elective course at Auburn University since 2018.  They use their network to connect with other passionate pharmacists and non-pharmacist to bring you the tips and tricks that you will need to be successful.

Taylor Steuber

Dr. Taylor Steuber is an Associate Clinical Professor and Internal MedicineClinical Pharmacist. He pursued post-graduate training at Indiana University Health/Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Indianapolis, Indiana where he completed a 24-month combined PGY1/PGY2 Pharmacotherapy Residency. He is now faculty at Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy where he teaches a Post-Graduate Preparatory Course with co-host Dr. Sean Smithgall. He practices with the UAB Division of Internal Medicine Huntsville Regional Medical Campus at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

Sean Smithgall

Assistant Clinical Professor and Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist

Dr. Sean Smithgall is a Professor and Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist. He completed his Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He then completed his PGY2 at East Tennessee State University, College of Pharmacy, in Johnson City, TN. He is now faculty at Auburn University, Harrison College of Pharmacy where he teaches a Post-Graduate Preparatory Course with co-host Dr. Taylor Steuber. He practices at the University of South Alabama Family Medicine Center and serves as the Residency Program Director for the University of South Alabama Health Physicians Group PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency.
