Rick Sorenson

Rick has always been creative and enjoys helping people discover their authentic creative self.
Creativity drove Rick to learn drawing and painting at a young age but really became focused in middle and high school. He pursued art further at art school in Beverly, Massachusetts, graduating from Montserrat College of Art.
Rick views life through artistic and aesthetic lens. He taught drawing, painting, clay, graphic design, relief printmaking, and creativity classes. He has traveled around the world, to over 25 countries, and visited art museums.
Rick married Jesika, years ago, but it seems just like yesterday. Rick and Jesika came together from opposite sides of the world and married in 1998; he loves her more and more each day. With his creativity and her practicality, they are well-balanced couple. They love international cuisine. People are drawn to them, of all ages and nationalities.
Along the way, he imported handmade papers from Bhutan and sold the papers to artists and art stores for 13 years until the economy crashed in 2008.
Rick turned to writing as he tried to better understand and clarify the art concepts he learned in art school. Rick tried to understand the nature of art, as it is expressed through every art form. A friend told him he should write a book on art for Christians; so, he did. This became Art: The Church’s Response. Rick wrote other articles on Substack that explore various aspects of creating and aesthetics, from a maker’s point of view and an audience’s view.
