Updating your social media preview image

When you (or a listener) share your website or an episode on social media, the network shows a preview image. Podpage generates this for you automatically using your podcast or episode artwork — but you can change it, and you can fix it when the wrong image shows up.

Example of a social media link preview showing podcast artwork

Use a different image for your site

To use a different site-wide image than your podcast artwork:

  1. In your dashboard, go to Search Optimization → SEO Settings.
  2. Upload a new Social Sharing Image (recommended dimensions: 1200 x 650 pixels).
  3. Click Save.

For a single episode, go to Episodes → All Episodes, edit the episode, and set its Social Preview Image.

Fixing a wrong preview image

If the preview on Facebook, X (Twitter), or LinkedIn isn't what you expect:

  1. Verify what Podpage is sending. Go to metatags.io and enter your page's URL to see the preview Podpage is set up to show.
  2. If metatags.io shows the right image but the social network doesn't, the network has cached an old preview. Follow these instructions to clear the cache for each network.
  3. If it's wrong on metatags.io too, update the image in Podpage — the site-wide Social Sharing Image or the episode's Social Preview Image — then re-check on metatags.io.

Tip: If the image is missing entirely when you share, see My images aren't appearing when I share on social media.
