Normally you don't know an episode's URL until Podpage imports it from your feed. If you want the link ahead of release day — for show notes, social posts, or marketing — you can choose your next episode's URL in advance, either in your Podpage dashboard or at your podcast host.
How Podpage creates episode URLs
Podpage builds each episode's URL from its title, so an episode called "The Big Game" becomes www.yourpodcast.com/the-big-game/. In most cases this is perfect and great for SEO.
Podpage also creates automatic Quick Link redirects from episode numbers — episode 10 is /10, Season 2 Episode 3 is /s2e3 — with nothing to set up. So you often already know a shareable link before release. Pre-setting is for when you want a specific human-readable URL.
Method 1: Pre-set it in your dashboard
Available on the Pro plan and above.
- In your dashboard, go to Pages → Episodes, then open Pre-set Upcoming Episode in the tabs at the top.
- Enter the URL you'd like your next episode to have — for example, enter 2026-recap if you want yourdomain.com/2026-recap/. Lowercase letters with dashes work best.
- Click Save. The next episode Podpage imports will use that URL.
Method 2: Set the link at your podcast host
Most podcast hosts let you define the episode's website link when you publish an episode. In Buzzsprout, for example, it's the Custom Episode Webpage field — other hosts call it something different.
Enter the full URL you want, using your Podpage website's domain. If the link's domain matches your Podpage site, Podpage uses the path you entered as the episode's URL — so entering www.awesomepodcast.com/fishing gives the episode the URL /fishing/ automatically.
If you enter a numeric link like /10, that's fine — those are reserved for Quick Link redirects, so Podpage will just create the normal title-based URL instead.
Tip: Most podcasters never need to pre-set URLs — Podpage's automatic title-based URLs are clean and SEO-friendly out of the box.
