Creating a Blog Post

A blog gives search engines fresh content to index and gives listeners more ways to find your show. You can write and publish blog posts right from your Podpage dashboard.

Available on the Pro plan and above.

How to create a blog post

  1. In your dashboard, go to Pages → Blog. If you don't see it, look under Available Pages at the bottom of the Pages section and click Blog.
  2. Click New Blog Post.
  3. Enter the title and write your post. You can also choose an author, select categories, add a main image, and fill in the SEO fields.
  4. Set the Publish Date and Time, or click Publish Now to publish immediately.
  5. Click Save.

Important: A post without a publish date is saved as a draft and won't appear on your website. A post with a future publish date goes live automatically at that date and time (times are in US/Pacific).

Want to proofread first? Click View on Website on a draft to see it exactly as it will look once published. Only you and your team can see it while signed in — visitors and search engines can't until you publish.

Organizing posts with categories

Categories group your posts so readers can browse by topic. Go to Pages → Blog → Categories and create the categories you want. You can then select them while writing or editing a post.

Once a category has published posts, it shows up in the Blog dropdown of your navigation bar and above your blog list, and each category page is included in your sitemap so search engines can find it.

Tip: Want to credit a co-host or team member for a post? See Assigning Blog Authors.
