Talking isn’t ALWAYS healing.
We’re often told that talking things out is always the answer.
Therapy culture says speaking helps—and sometimes it does.
But what if talk can also make things worse?
In this short reflection from the ancient wisdom of James, we explore why endless talking can turn circular, performative, or angry - and why the Bible offers a different, safer place for honesty.
James doesn’t say, “If you’re suffering, talk it out.”
He says, find people you trust - and pray.
Prayer isn’t about impressing God or persuading Him.
You don’t need to manage your image or recruit allies.
God can absorb anger without being harmed by it.
That makes prayer the safest place to tell the truth.
If you’ve ever felt exhausted by advice, self-analysis, or talking without resolution, this perspective may be worth considering.
You don’t have to be religious to think about it.
Just curious enough to look again ... and try it afresh.
