No Support Given

This week, we're taking a different approach. Rather than focusing on tactics, lineups, and individual performances on the field, we're diving into what may be happening behind the scenes and how it could be impacting results. We discuss the Richmond Kickers' recent struggles in front of goal, examining why an attack that once created chances with ease has suddenly gone quiet. We also explore how the offensive drought may be putting added pressure on the defense, leading to mistakes, conceded goals, and dropped points. Is it a matter of confidence, fatigue, squad depth, mentality, or something else entirely? Join us as we connect the dots between the challenges off the field and the performances on it, and discuss what needs to change as the season moves forward.

Getting to know: AC Boise

In this crossover episode, we're joined by Elias of The Pitchside Peregrines Podcast for an in-depth look at the upcoming match between the Richmond Kickers and AC Boise. We start by revisiting the clubs' first-ever meeting, a 2-2 draw that saw Richmond race out to a two-goal lead before Boise mounted a late comeback. We discuss the biggest takeaways from that match, including what each side did well, where they struggled, and what could be different this time around. The conversation then shifts toward the reverse fixture and the challenges both teams face heading into a crucial league matchup. We examine key players to watch, tactical storylines, and how home-field advantage could impact the result. Of course, no soccer discussion is complete without a few analogies, and we find ourselves comparing both clubs to that trusty old car sitting in the driveway: dependable enough to get the job done, but unpredictable enough that you occasionally wonder if you'll make it home wit…

Stuck Roo in the Middle

The Richmond Kickers and AC Boise played to an entertaining 2-2 draw on Saturday night at City Stadium, with Richmond controlling much of the match before surrendering a two-goal lead late. We recap a strong opening from the Kickers, highlighted by Austin Amer's first goal for the club in the 22nd minute after capitalizing on a loose ball from a corner kick. Richmond continued to create chances throughout the first half and carried a deserved 1-0 lead into the break. Early in the second half, Tarik Pannholzer delivered a perfectly weighted long ball that sent Lucca Dourado through on goal. Dourado made no mistake, scoring his third goal of the season to put Richmond ahead 2-0 and seemingly in control. Defensively, Hayden Anderson turned in one of his strongest performances of the year with six clearances, while goalkeeper Yann Fillion made six saves to keep Boise at bay for much of the evening. However, momentum shifted late as Denys Kostyshyn pulled one back in the 79th minu…
