827 | Jill Schultz on Overcoming Trauma: How She Now Helps Others Heal!

Jill is boldly stepping out and vulnerably admitting that as a result of her own sexual trauma at age 4, she innocently and curiously experimented with other children when she was a child herself. For 41 years she lived with a dark cloud of shame and self-loathing over her head, thinking she was alone. Finally, after years of praying for her purpose, she finally realized her life’s work is to release people from shame and change the lens through which people see how children who have been sexually abused experiment with other children. Jill brings this taboo topic to the light so that people can get beyond the shame and live the life of their dreams. Whether or not you have suffered from sexual abuse or if you have a secret, Jill’s approach to letting go of any kind of shame will leave you free to create a space for love, success, and abundance. 723 | Dana S. Diaz's inspiring story from Darkness to Resilience

Dana S. Diaz studied journalism and psychology at DePaul University. While there’s no better teacher than life experience and Dana has had life-long experiences with narcissistic abuse, her education did give her the ability to accurately verbalize and express how narcissistic abuse creates confusion and conflict within victims. Today, Dana is a proud voice for fellow victims who are unable, afraid, or ashamed to share their experiences. She strives to create awareness and understanding to ensure victims are given the support they need to first understand their situation and then begin the healing process. Her first book, chronicling her own abusive marriage that lasted nearly three decades, started as a journal that she hid under the couch cushion in the basement. When she isn’t speaking out on narcissistic abuse, Dana can be found listening to music by Eric Hutchinson, Elle King, Green Day, Amy Winehouse, Julia Michaels and Taylor Swift. She equally loves her gray Converse sho…

687 | Surviving Human Trafficking: Story of Resilience & Empowerment - Interview - Amanda Blackwood

I'm a survivor of human trafficking. I didn't tell anyone for such a long time. It was my scary little secret. It would stay that way, I thought. In 2019 the man who had trafficked me made me famous on a pornography sight by sharing rape videos and photos, and linked them all to my social media pages. I reached out to an anti-trafficking organization here in Colorado who paired me with legal services to assist in having the videos taken down, but I made the mistake one day of thinking I was alone in the office. My boss had been only 100 yards away and could overhear my conversation with my lawyer and never made a sound - until the call ended. When the call ended and I heard him moving around, I knew he had been listening. He knew I was a survivor of trafficking. Less than a month later I was fired. It was the week before Thanksgiving, four months before the pandemic. It was one of the best things that could have happened to me. I'm now a full time author and public speaker. In…

509 | Surviving Guillain-Barre Syndrome - Interview - Holly Frances

Weeks after giving birth, Holly Frances went from being a healthy 26-year-old new mom to paralyzed and on life support—in less than 72 hours. Diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome, she was trapped in her own body, unable to move, speak, or hold her newborn daughter. Holly’s new book, Life Support, tells the story of how she struggled to overcome the despair, hopelessness and pain of recovery, to regain her health and get back to being a mother to her daughter. Both a memoir and a resource guide, this is the true story of how Holly found purpose in the 126 days spent in hospital. A journey of strength, determination and hope, Holly’s story reminds us that life doesn’t always go as planned, sometimes, in the most dire and challenging ways, it turns out better.
