Identity is the first casualty of transition. A veteran leaves service. A founder sells. An athlete plays a last season. What goes missing is not the job. What goes missing is the answer to who you are when the thing that answered it is gone. Passing The Torch sits inside that gap without rushing anyone out of it. The host does not claim to have resolved his own identity. He is still in it, learning in real time, bringing listeners along. That removes the usual transaction of personal development media, where the host holds identity and the listener borrows it. Here it gets examined together. The title carries the argument. A torch passed is a torch never possessed. Someone came before. Someone comes after. Purpose stops being personal achievement and becomes stewardship, which is the more durable place to stand, because achievement can be taken from you and stewardship cannot. That is also where the show touches belonging. Belonging is not a reward for arriving. It is what you know structurally when your place does not depend on your title or your proximity to someone further along. A show where the guide is still figuring it out makes that claim in its bones. Worth your time if you are between identities.
