Mud appreciation
Most excellent podcast. I've always wondered how to make images of cracked mud. Makes me want to go out and find some to photograph. Thanks so much.

Look forward to each episode
I’ve known Brenda virtually for a while now on YouTube where she has helped me better understand PhotoPills app. This podcast is always a joy to listen to. Brenda is very personable with her guests and incredibly knowledgeable with the episodes about techniques and compositions. It is great to be finally able to give a review as I don’t listen on the native podcast app. Thanks for all the wonderful episodes so far, great to “connect” this way each week. All the best from Sydney Australia.

The right blend!
This a great podcast that blends the technical details of photography with the real-life stories of photographers. The stories are engaging and a lot of the points Brenda and the guests touch on are questions or experiences that I have wondered about or I'm in the process of experiencing myself. I look forward to every podcast. Keep up the great work Brenda!

Brenda is the Terry Gross of photography interviewing
Brenda invites to her interviews some very insightful and intelligent photographers. With thoughtful questioning she is able to draw out of them their methods and mindset. Listen carefully for the explicit and implicit responses to her, and you’ll hear their respect and admiration for her communication style. Very cool stuff on technical and soulful levels alike! Thank you so much for your work.

Defining composition simply & clearly
Again, terrific insight. You have a gift to be able to clarify an issue to so many of us. Thanks for helping me improve my photos and my enjoyment.

Top notch, Fantastic
Great podcast, well-balanced between specific /technical photography concepts and the general story-telling of people in the outdoor photography field. I really enjoy listening in on the interviews, and I fell like you ask very thoughtful questions. Lightning-round is always a fun addition to the standard interview format. I found a few amazing Instagram accounts (where use as inspiration or motivation to go out in nature) from the photographers you interviewed, so thank you for bolstering my Instagram feed with some really unique photographers (I'm including creator of the podcast in this too). There was one episode, I forget when, about gear, clothing, and safety in the outdoors which I found really helpful and had to take some quick notes while listening.

Informative
I am new to photograph, but the show is easy to listen to and is filled with good information that is presented very clearly.

Wonderful podcast
Always enjoy the podcast. Great information and inspiration regarding a variety of photographic subjects. Good stuff . Highly recommended.

Thank you Brenda your podcasts inspire me so much. I loved your guest this week as I could really relate to so much she was saying especially with the poster series. I think you do an amazing job and I have learned so much from you. Thank you!!

Great Nature and Landscape Photography Podcast
I really enjoy Brenda’s podcasts which cover an interesting range of topics including photography technique, outdoor recreation safety and equipment, how to put nature first, caring for our public land, and lots more. It’s great to get a female perspective, hear from a broad range of guests, and Brenda’s interview style and her questions get quickly to the heart of the subject. If you love spending time outdoors and photography, then you should be listening to the OPS podcast.

Thanks Brenda!
Your podcasts are simply the best Brenda, both informative and entertaining. The depth of knowledge you present in the easy to understand non techy language is sure to appeal to everyone, even seasoned photographers. And the wide range of interviews of photographers in all aspects of the field is fascinating. Thanks for being genuine and open to all who come through your web door.

Miss you on YouTube but loving these podcasts!
It’s always fun to see/hear a local creating great content. I live in southern Maine and relate to The type of landscapes you capture. You are always so thorough with all your information. An episode that stood out for me was the one on Ticks. I have studied and owned a tick management company and all your info was spot on. Keep up the good work.

Brenda Petrella Outdoor Photography Podcast
This is the best photography podcast with interesting, varied, and informative guests. Brenda generously shares her knowledge, providing important information about how to improve our photography, and how to stay safe and happy in the outdoors.

Thank you Brenda!
We are so lucky to have someone like Brenda to break things down for us and TEACH us is such a clear and concise manner. I had Photopills on my phone for a year gathering dust until I found Brenda's tutorials. I now know when and where the moon is rising and the sun is setting and the relative height of the galactic center and so much more. If she helps you, send her a few cups of coffee! I did

Terrific Podcasts
Brenda has created a podcast for aspiring photographers and pros alike. The interviews with a variety of professional photographers are inspiring and full of thoughtful content. Her Tidbit Tuesday series is so useful for aspiring photographers looking to improve their photography. The podcast is top quality recording too!

Great Photography Podcast!
Love the balance of tech and interviews. Well done!

Exactly what I’ve been looking for…
The Outdoor Photography Podcast is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Not to technical but intriguing enough to keep my attention. So far I’ve only listened to 1 ½ podcasts starting at the beginning and I’m really impressed with the content.

The best!
Brenda is one of the best educators on the internet. Her ability to clearly and concisely explain complex concepts is amazing. Be sure to check out her series on PhotoPills; absolutely the best. The guests on her podcast are very interesting and I have learned a lot from them. If you want to learn about photography and being in the outdoors this podcast is for you.

A MUST for outdoor photographers!
I just discovered Brenda’s podcast and was immediately hooked after episode #1 with Matt Payne with their discussion about ethics and nature photography. Every photographer should go to her site and get her manifesto sheet and share with others. As photographers we are in a unique position to be stewards of our natural world, and thanks so much for sharing all the interviews and insights!

Engaging Podcast
I have listened to every episode since it started and really enjoy how Brenda engages her guests. Her questions are thought provoking, insightful and draws the speaker out for maximum engagement. The topics are not the usual technical ones and have really helped me think differently about my own photography. The Tuesday tidbits are quick and an easy listen.

Podcast junkie review
My phone battery take a beating from the back to back podcast I enjoy. With that said, this is perhaps my all time favorite photography podcast. Brenda is phenomenal! I love the content, the guest, and her presentation/ interview skills. I’m always inspired. Five Star all the way!

Great podcast
Landscape and nature photography is a very underserved genre and Brenda does a great job blending tips with interviews. Podcast tends to be just the right length as well. Hopefully it’s a long time before she gets burned out like a lot of podcasters in this genre. Until then I’ll be a faithful listener.

Charles Bergman - a wonderful conversation
Thank you, Brenda for having Charles Bergman on your podcast today. This was one of the most memorable conversations I have heard from any podcast. His love of all creatures and thoughts about humanity resonated with me. I will follow up by looking at his website and ordering his book.

Great for landscape photographers!
If you are a landscape or outdoors photographer this podcast is a must! Brenda is very knowledgeable and has some great guests. Highly recommended!

Finding Inspiration in the Texas Landscape with Linda Nickell
Witty Texas landscape photographer shares her tips and tricks for capturing all things Texas. I love the way she covered the diverse areas of the state and described their unique attractions to photograph.

Finding Inspiration In The Texas Landscape With Linda Nickell
The conversational approach was entertaining and informative. Linda is a great story teller. Great podcast!

The Outdoor School pod cast.
I have really been enjoying this series of podcast. Today’s with Rob Hirsch. Keep them coming. was the best yet

Inspirational
Tuesday tidbits got me on the water of Lake Tahoe at San Harbor with a refreshed perspective. In episode eight, Brenda took the tough concept of composition and articulated a way to think about my feelings influencing the creation of a landscape image. I suppose I have done these things subconsciously, but to focus with her spin let me use my senses to peak the composition. The grand landscape in itself is so massive, to experience one with her “jump off points” allowed me to nail the moment. Thanks for the getting me outdoors, in my kayak, with my minimal gear and truly capture the soul of a unique moment with nature.

Conservation Photography
I just finished listening to your podcast with Jaymi and I’m inspired and will be seriously considering following this path. I love outdoor photography but want to have a purpose for it, not just a pretty picture to show. I’m retiring in 5 years or so and would like to do something with my photography that has an impact. I’ll be checking out her website and the storytelling site to see what’s available. I’ve also subscribed to her podcast. One thing I’d like to add to the discussion centered around education and children’s science museums as a potential outlet for education, get involved with public libraries. I work in a small one and programming ideas like this would be welcome. Not just for kids, but all ages. Love your podcast, OPS, and your YouTube channel. Keep up the good work!

Nailed the ticks!
Brenda, I am a fellow New Englander, high school teacher of intro to digital photography classes, live hiking and the outdoors. I also happen to be a partner in a tick and Mosquito spraying business in Southern Maine, so you really “ticked” off all the boxes with this episode. We do a lot of public education on this subject and you nailed it with this podcast. Very thorough and to the point. In a side note, I also enjoy your YouTube channel and series on PhotoPills. I often tell me students to watch content I feel has value and your name is brought up often. Keep up the hard work, it’s paying off. Hope to meet you on the trails some day. Ken Webb
