0:00 Bomba, why the affective relationships I have are not stable. I like assertiveness, why it invites us to prudence that what should motivate our word is always love. It was this and that is already the basis for going out to conquer many goals, to fight, to give a better version and enjoy life fully. You know how to overcome apathy. It was the question a young man asked me in the city of Barranquilla. While I was waiting for public transport, he approached me, greeted me very kindly and looking me in the eye, asked me that question. Sure, He expected from me a magic formula, a few words that had the power to fill his life with encouragement and strength to move on. So the first thing I insisted on was that I had to reflect, train and find a way forward and clear if it was necessary to seek professional help from someone who would accompany him in that process.

1:26 The first thing I did was ask him what he understood by apathy and he told me what that boredom, that discouragement or that indifference to life was. He told me I have a feeling I don' t want to do anything. I lack interest in that which I used to love to do is you. I looked at him fondly and told him that the first thing was to look for the causes of that apathy. I told him that from psychology or from the sciences of human behavior, it is believed that stress, especially chronic stress, can exhaust energy and motivation by making one have that feeling that he denounces. Other cases are depression. It can be a symptom of depression apathy, and there you need to go to the doctor to be diagnosed and to actually check what isn' t working. I also told her that other authors think it' s lack of sleep, not sleeping enough, not getting tired enough, that that has a negative impact on the mood. Also the lack of purpose, that is, not having a meaning in life, a direction, an object. It' s possible that it ends up dismotivating and

3:01 disinteresting people in life because they don' t really know what' s best. There may also be physiological causes from some medications that you may be consuming. Then he insisted that the first thing to overcome apathy is to have a clear cause. What is behind that sense of discouragement, what is the source or what is the stimulus that causes that emotional response of wanting to do nothing. Second, I insisted on the need to take care of his health. Yes, I told him, you have to eat well, you have to sleep well, you have to take care of yourself physically, spiritually and mentally.

3:51 Take care of your health, you have to be aware of what' s going on in your body, what' s going on in your mind, how you' re reacting emotionally and what' s happening to you in your spirit. The third thing I said, please, I have a life project. What has helped me the most is to have a life project. I celebrate and bless my trainers of the Juan 23tres Regional Seminary, the parents who welcomed me there when I was seventeen years old and taught me to elaborate a personal life project, that is, to be clear about my purpose, what my dream is, and to try to put it gradually in stages, being clear in resources and having clear how to evaluate it. I believe that this is an instrument, a fundamental resource in the training process. In all schools, every school should work on the personal life project that everyone knows what they' re studying for, what they' re doing what they' re doing. What are the dreams, what are the desires that move it and that pull it out is definitely required to set goals. Fourth, I told him to enjoy life through actions, attitudes that generate pleasure, participate in activities that interest you and make you feel good and do it. Please, even

5:29 if you don' t feel like it, many times we believe that first they are the desire and then they are the activities, and not many times first we do and doing we get the desire and in activity we get the desire for the passion, for the pleasure that we are experiencing. This is fundamental that you are able to find activities that will passion you for it, surround yourself with positive people, surround yourself with people who encourage you, people who contribute to you, people who believe in you, who trust you and fill you with desire, to go forward with desire, to overcome difficulties and problems, one last thing I told you avoid the substances that take you out of reality, Because, even if you don' t believe, those substances that take you out of reality end up causing, after its effect, that feeling of apathy, that feeling of discouragement. I said firmly and clearly, look at the abuse of alcohol, look at the abuse of drugs. That ' s not good for someone who' s feeling unmotivated, so he' s feeling sad. And in the end I told him listen think about an activity, a spiritual practice. If you know me and ask me, you know that I am a Catholic, you know that I am a priest,

7:03 that I no longer exercise the presbyterate and that I have religious practices that help me. But I told him to look for spiritual experiences, those that allow you to skip life, those that allow you to connect with the best of your being, those that allow you to know valuable, valuable, namely that you are a person with so many qualities and abilities. I told him to have moments for silence, for meditation, to thank, to see more sunsets more sunrises, to enjoy that which perhaps many people do not value, but which is fundamental in the search for meaning, in the search for desire.

7:50 To move on, I ended up praying for that young man. I told him I can do it, and he said yes, Alberto, and I ended up praying for him and crying to the God of heaven to give him strength, but immediately I climbed into the transmeter I noted this I am telling you and I said I' m going to do an episode of the podcast of this because, like that young man, there may be many people who are or are discouraged and need reflections that provoke them to want to get ahead, that provoke them to find tasks, find ways to do. That is why today I invite you to reflect on each of these keys that I gave to that young man and that I believe he can help you. So do I. I' m convinced that' s going to help us all.

8:45 I particularly have to thank that I always live animated, that I always live eagerly and that in moments of apathy are transmissory passengers in my life and I quickly get hooked on some project, in some dream, perhaps because I am always reading a text that brings me happiness. Or because I' m writing, scrubbing chronicles that may never be published or articles that may not interest anyone, but that I' m happy to write them. Or maybe because I drink coffee with the friends I love and love, or maybe because I enjoy life with my partner doing what we both like. Thank you for being with us. If you know people you think this episode can help you, send it to them always does well. We' re in Dizer, we' re in Spotify, we' re in Apple and Amazon. I' m happy because the second edition of the book is out. The man is alive and with you. I hope someday you can read it and enjoy it.

9:54 You know Boombaux.
