I love Mike and this podcast!
I enjoy the humor but also the skill of crafting a story or joke. I can’t wait to see you next week in Charlotte!
I learned a new word!
Sybaritic! Until David Cross dropped it into my ears, I’d never heard the word. Thank you for expanding my vocabulary.
Favorite Comedy Podcast!
Mike B is the best! My favorite episodes have been David Cross, Fred Armisen, Pete Holmes, Nikki Glaser and Ira Glass
Phenomenal show
I discovered this show around the holidays in 2020, and it has brought me so much joy ever since. The Sarah Cooper, Gary Gulman, and Bowen Yang episodes were some of my early favorites, but it’s difficult to narrow it down to choose just a handful. Do yourself a favor and listen to them all!
Laugh and feel good
I’ve followed Mike Birbiglia’s comedy for a while, and his podcast has a lot of the same qualities in terms of his humor and charm, mixed in with really great guests and getting to hear about what goes on “behind the curtain” as a comedian. Stand out episodes are Bill Hader and Natasha Lyonne. I also appreciate the diversity of the comedians he has on, and I’ve discovered new people to follow from the podcast.
I am in the future also
This podcast ruined me for other podcasts. My favorite episode this season was Malcolm Gladwell (another good podcaster). I loved it so much I wish they would do a project together. I felt like I could listen to Birbigs talk for hours about anything with Malcolm Gladwell. So much curiosity and deep thoughtfulness on both sides.
Great Comedian, Great Interviewer
Mike Birbiglia is not only one of the best comedians of our time, he is also a fantastic interviewer who knows how to bring out a side of his guests that we rarely see in other media. I have a new appreciation for the artistic process and I can’t wait to see who else comes on the podcast in the future!
A must-listen for writers and creators
This is the best podcast on the creative process that’s actually fun to listen to and never gets precious. I even find myself re-listening to old episodes.
I feel creative listening
Mike’s friendly, conversational rapport with his guests is truly organic. For those of us who are not blessed with creative genius, we can vicariously enjoy the process as these professionals work it out.
Enjoyable
I like it. Maybe you will too.
My favorite podcast
My favorite episodes are with Bill Hader, Taylor Tomlinson and Jack Antanoff
Very good
Mike Birbiglia is a master of his craft and it is a wonderful time listening to his, and other comics process of writing and shaping jokes.
Good listen.
“Same” -Mike Birbiglia
An Inside Look
Absolutely fascinating to listen to comics and writers discuss their process. Plus it’s really funny!
I love Mike
Keep up the good work.
Smart and funny
I listen to a lot of podcast, and this is this smartest and funniest thing out there.

Love it.
Full of great comedians and thoughtful, funny, and creative inspiration
Judd Apatow
About 5 years ago (before Twitter got so very mean that I had to quit it) I kept seeing Judd Apatow on my twitter feed. His his tweets were so clever and so charming that I looked forward to them. One day I wrote him something I hoped would pass for witty, and he wrote me back! That moment still makes me smile! Loved this episode so much.
Love the give and take, honesty and emotional connection
Perfect antidote for feeling overwhelmed by political news I have been introduced to new comedians thru this podcast: Sarah Millican and jimmy carr to name 2. And enjoyed so much known collaborators like Keegan Michael key. Just saw his show at Berkeley Rep old Man and the pool.. highly recommend!!
Quality Production
Mike, my cool, yupster son and his wife showed me your stand-up which I like….but I like you even more after listening to your podcasts. Your soothing yet excited-little-boy voice coupled with the flow of the show is so enjoyable to listen to. It’s so interesting to learn about the craft and craftmanship of comedy…I hope you continue.
Spelunking the caves of comedic minds
Mike, this is such a fascinating "fly on the wall" listen about the process of comedians creating comedy. I listen every week, and I am a big fan of your work. Always funny and at times, deeply thought provoking. I am especially grateful for you introducing me to Sarah Millican. What a treasure. I've watched many of her videos on her YouTube channel and I laugh throughout every one of them. I so look forward to seeing you here in LA in May 2022. Lots of love and stay safe out there!
Funny, heartfelt and insightful
Whenever I listen, I enjoy it and laugh but also gain some new perspective and insight that I take with me for my life (I’m not a comedian so I mean for life in general!) I’ve noticed in more recent podcasts there seems to be more of a workshopping of both the guests and mikes jokes which I enjoy
Loving every episode!
As a new comic this podcast has been invaluable in my first year of comedy. My writing has become so strong so quickly and I attribute a lot of it to just how much I get out of the honesty and transparency of Mike and his guests! I’m the HUGEST fan! Thank you so much for bringing us into your workshop!
