If only...
The only thing bad about this podcast is that Mike and guests don’t get to hear my feedback in real time. I’ve had some great pointers that only the people around me hear while I’m in the park running. They don’t seem to take my pointers either. Is there a way to have a suggestion box for this podcast? 😍 Working it out is great for anyone with a creative mind or anyone who wants a creative mind. It’s a seat in the writer’s room. It’s a booth after the show where everyone sits around and tries to “one up” each other. It’s what we’ve all been waiting for.
Anthem
Mike, where can I purchase your theme song from? I REALLY LOVE IT!! It’s like an acoustic male Mazzy Star. It’s VERY soothing.
Mitch and Birbigs
Mike! Your show on New Years in Philly opening for Mitch was my first ever comedy show. Lewis Black middled. Mitch was my favorite comic then and I was so lucky to see him perform even once. You were a baby, and so great! Now you are my favorite, your styles are different but both so funny and real with a lot of soul. Thanks for this, Mitch Hedberg lives on and on.
Yay!
Yay Mike! Longtime fan and so love hearing your conversations around creativity. Aubrey Plaza ep was great.
Why is Mike always trying to one up his guests?!! JK jk jk. I love this podcast and the really annoying thing about it is that there aren’t enough new episodes. Gimme, like, 2 a day? Or else I’m gonna have to start a knockoff podcast just to fill the quota. Thanks.
Love it
One of my all time favorite comedians.
I love Mike and this podcast!
I enjoy the humor but also the skill of crafting a story or joke. I can’t wait to see you next week in Charlotte!
I learned a new word!
Sybaritic! Until David Cross dropped it into my ears, I’d never heard the word. Thank you for expanding my vocabulary.
Favorite Comedy Podcast!
Mike B is the best! My favorite episodes have been David Cross, Fred Armisen, Pete Holmes, Nikki Glaser and Ira Glass
Phenomenal show
I discovered this show around the holidays in 2020, and it has brought me so much joy ever since. The Sarah Cooper, Gary Gulman, and Bowen Yang episodes were some of my early favorites, but it’s difficult to narrow it down to choose just a handful. Do yourself a favor and listen to them all!
Laugh and feel good
I’ve followed Mike Birbiglia’s comedy for a while, and his podcast has a lot of the same qualities in terms of his humor and charm, mixed in with really great guests and getting to hear about what goes on “behind the curtain” as a comedian. Stand out episodes are Bill Hader and Natasha Lyonne. I also appreciate the diversity of the comedians he has on, and I’ve discovered new people to follow from the podcast.
I am in the future also
This podcast ruined me for other podcasts. My favorite episode this season was Malcolm Gladwell (another good podcaster). I loved it so much I wish they would do a project together. I felt like I could listen to Birbigs talk for hours about anything with Malcolm Gladwell. So much curiosity and deep thoughtfulness on both sides.
Great Comedian, Great Interviewer
Mike Birbiglia is not only one of the best comedians of our time, he is also a fantastic interviewer who knows how to bring out a side of his guests that we rarely see in other media. I have a new appreciation for the artistic process and I can’t wait to see who else comes on the podcast in the future!
A must-listen for writers and creators
This is the best podcast on the creative process that’s actually fun to listen to and never gets precious. I even find myself re-listening to old episodes.
I feel creative listening
Mike’s friendly, conversational rapport with his guests is truly organic. For those of us who are not blessed with creative genius, we can vicariously enjoy the process as these professionals work it out.
Enjoyable
I like it. Maybe you will too.
My favorite podcast
My favorite episodes are with Bill Hader, Taylor Tomlinson and Jack Antanoff
Very good
Mike Birbiglia is a master of his craft and it is a wonderful time listening to his, and other comics process of writing and shaping jokes.
Good listen.
“Same” -Mike Birbiglia
An Inside Look
Absolutely fascinating to listen to comics and writers discuss their process. Plus it’s really funny!
I love Mike
Keep up the good work.
Smart and funny
I listen to a lot of podcast, and this is this smartest and funniest thing out there.
