5/5. Amazing love it!!👀
I wrote five out of five because of one reason actually a few but I love this podcast it’s awesome the humor so funny I listen to it every night Best vibe ever
What’s my favorite episode?
Every episode is my favorite episode.
Excellent
How were you not nominated for a Podcastjng Golden Globe?!?! My sister put me onto this podcast and I binged hard and have now listened to every. Single. Episode. Notables: #115, #116, #195, Liz Allen This podcast changed my life. (Or changed my perspectives). You’ve introduced me to so many new (to me) comedians! I signed up to learn how to ‘yes and ‘ in improv class (never doing stand up, but want to be a better communicator). And the “best of”makes me sad because c’mon, that’s lazy. There are soooo many more comedians to interview! Especially now that you’ve added a ‘paid’ subscription there is less content. Let’s see Shayne Smith, Pete Lee, the Bored Teachers Gang, and more people I’ve never even heard of! Please keep working it out !!!
Couldn’t love it more
Excellent, thoughtful, funny show. This is probably the only podcast where I will re-listen to episodes.
Dreams

5 out of 5
I love the exploration of the creative process in each episode. It has given me perspectives on creative outlets which led me to learning guitar.
A+ comedy!
It always puts me in a good mood and makes me laugh. Thank you to all who work on the show!
A great balance of humor and real life stories.
It is so easy to connect with the guests on Mike Birbiglia’s podcasts. Mike asks terrific questions that lead to insightful answers. You will laugh and in the same few minutes you will realize that we all have our struggles. If I wrote all of my compliments, this review would be too long.
A Helpful Comedy Podcast
It’s fun to listen to comedians tell stories and workshop jokes, but there is something more to this podcast. To me it feels more human and less superficial than other comedy podcasts. I think a lot of comedians struggle with anything sincere, but Mike B. nails it. I particularly like the Arthur C. Brooks episode for not having a second comic and not trying to be funny, but just being interesting and informative. Thank you!
Always…great, funny, authentic, insightful & sincere…
Mike & his guests provide humorous and fun conversations that also leave a valued trail of insight and wisdom. It’s great “inside comedy” conversation with experienced comedians and also great conversations with interesting entertainment people. Just do it and listen in. You will only regret it if your significant other, family, friends or employer expected you to get s…tuff done for them while you were binging on these podcasts. 🤷‍♂️
I’ve been a fan for soooo long…
….and now I get to hear Mike Birbiglia laugh in a new episode every week! Get the inside scoop on matters of all sorts.
My favorite podcast
Fun, helpful and hopeful. This podcast inspired me to get back into comedy. Every episode is a winner but I highly recommend the Todd Glass episode.
Yes to Jen
Wonderful synergy between you two! Didn’t expect Jen to have such great comic timing, among her other gifts…
Informatively Funny!
After nearly a year of being a devoted listener I’ve gained the confidence to mount my own solo show! Some specific takeaways are Fred Armisen giving the advice to start off smiling and Mike’s advice to never make the audience so sad that you can’t bring them back from it. My show, Turning Tigers into Pancakes, opens this week in NYC and I’ve been humbly saying that if a Mike Birbiglia comedy special got together with a Hannah Gadsby comedy special and had a Black/Queer baby, it would be Turning Tigers into Pancakes. Thanks Mike! Thanks Working it Out team!
Jen’s right
The ads are good
Mike and Jen are wonderful together
Funny, touching conversation: a great comic and a terrific poet walk into a podcast and make me happy.
So good
Jokes on you, I wanted to cry in my garden while listening to J. Hope Stein read her poetry out loud.
Come for the deep talks about process, stay for the way Pete Holmes mercilessly makes fun of Mike
“You’re like the piece of paper they put on overhead projectors and a tired dad writes equations on.” Pete is not on the show all the time but when he pops up I’ve come to think of it like my generation’s Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner. If you’re looking for a good place to start: 100th episode with Ira Glass, every Pete Holmes episode, and Quest Love have really stuck with me.
The Berbestlia
Can’t for wrong with this podcast. Mike is a treasure!
New music
Love Mike, this podcast is sometimes just a little low energy for me at times, personally. I do always enjoy the interviews and Mike is able to draw out authenticity from his guests compared to other celebrity podcasts. I’d give it five stars if the intro and transition music wasn’t on the low- energy/depressing side. I often don’t listen to episodes because the beginning music vibe just isn’t for me. I’d go see Mike, if he came to MA to do a comedy show, in a SECOND!!
Will we ever get another album?
Great comedian talks about shows poor people will never be able to see/hear. I assume it’s a netflix thing
Nick Offerman-my New Fave WIO
Nick Offerman's episode is my new favorite Working it Out episode! So much heart and humor. No other podcast compares to WIO, so much real conversation, insight, and playfulness. Thank you! -Big Fan in Sacramento, CA
What I should’ve said
How do I put into words what this show does for me? I have followed Mike throughout his career. His stand up speaks to a very real part of me. Not just the shared experiences or the fact that my dad did stand up when I was growing up, but like someone truly gets me and doesn’t even know me. I listen to every episode and have since this came out. I look forward to it every week. I joined the pay subscription. I will continue to support this any way that I can because it is so much more than a podcast to me. This past episode with Caleb Hearon was the best episode yet. It is intelligent and funny and clever and human. I truly don’t know how to express my gratitude for something seemingly understated, but genuinely a part of my soul.
