Part 6 | Sean "Diddy" Combs Implicated In Murder of Tupac

Now let's get into today's episode, and big news has come out in just the past few days that may be the most damning news yet for our old friend Diddy, and this particular news directly relates to his alleged role in the murder of Tupac Shakur.

2:57 So I'm gonna catch you up a little bit on the timeline into the investigation into the murder of Tupac and just how Diddy has found himself implicated in that murder. So I'm gonna bring you way back and we're going to go to November thirtieth of nineteen ninety four, and this is two years before the shooting that would eventually claim Tupac's life. Pok was shot five times during a robbery at Quad Studios in Times Square in New York. Now that studio is owned by Ditty, And in an interview with Vibe magazine in April of nineteen ninety five, about six months later, he insinuated the producer Sean Combs and rapper Chris Wallace, who is known as or was known as the Notorious Big. They were at the studio and they were aware of that setup. This is what he was insinuated. And there's actually a video out there of that shooting, and you know, it does look kind of stage to look like a robbery, and it occurred right outside the elevator of Diddy's studio. Then in July of nineteen ninety six, and what you would say is a precursor to the events that would unfold later on that year, a guy by the name of Orlando, Baby

4:28 Lane Anderson in a group of Southside Compton Crip gang members attempted to rob a guy by the name of Trayvon Trey Lane, who is a member of the rival Mob Piru Gang, an associate of death Row Records co founder sug Knight. This was at a foot locker store at a mall in Lakewood, California, and they tried. What they tried to do was they tried to rob him of his death Row Records chain gold chain. And there was a rumor out there at that time that did he was paying big money if you could rob a gold chain from death Row Records and bring it to him.

5:15 There was a big West coast East coast rivalry back in those days. And of course at that point Tupac was West Coast. He was with sug Knight and death Row Records and did he had bad Boy Records and that was on the East Coast in New York. And look, there was a lot of issues going on. So fast forward to September seventh of nineteen ninety six and in what would be his final heavyweight championship victory, Mike Tyson defeated Bruce Selden by a first round tko in about and that was at the MGM Green Gordon Arena in Las Vegas. So after that fight, Trayvon spots Anderson in in side the MGM Grand Hotel lobby. He was near a bank of elevators. He tells Tupac Shakur, hey, that's the dude that stole my chain. So Shakur starts making his way over to Anderson and he's bucking up right and as he's making his way over there, he says, hey, are you from the South and punches him in the face, knocking Baby Lane to the ground. At that point, members of Tupac Shakur and Knight's entourage assisted in the assault, and all of it was captured on MGM gram video surveillance.

6:37 You can go to YouTube and see that video anytime you want. MGM security guards they break up the brawl and the entourage makes their way out of the MGM Grand. Shakur then returns to his hotel room, which was at the Luxer after that fight, and he tells his girlfriend about his involvement in that altercation. He changes clothes, he leaves the hotel with sug Night and they jump in a BMW Sedan and their intention was to perform at a charity concert at a club on Flamingo Road that night. Was an investor in So shortly after eleven PM on that night, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department bike patrol officers.

7:21 They stopped the BMW for playing the car radio too loud and failing to have a license plate. So sug gets out of the car and they end up finding the license plate in the trunk of the car, so the police they release them and they don't give them a ticket. At eleven to ten pm, while stopped at a red light at the intersection of East Flamingo Road in Coval Lane, Shaker he's hollering at a pair of women who pull up beside him, you know, saying what's up, what's up, chopping it up with him. There's actually a famous picture. It was the last picture of Tupac Shakor alive, and it was just minutes before he was killed. And it was as he was talking to these two ladies, they took a picture. He invites him to his club and they drive off. When the light turns green. At eleven fifteen PM, a white four door Cadillac pulls up on the right side of that BMW. An occupant seated in the back seat rolls down the window and rapidly fires gunshots from a forty Smith and Wesson Glock twenty two at the BMW. Shakor gets hit with bullets four times, twice in the chest, once in the arm, and once in the thigh. One of the bullets went into Shakur's right long Night was hitting the head by fragmentation from

8:53 bullets as well, but he wasn't. It's hard to say you were shot in the head and you weren't hurt, but he it wasn't life threatening. It was more or less grazing of bullets of a bullet. Shakor's bodyguard, a guy by the name of Frank Alexander, later said that he was going to ride with Shakor and sug Knight in that car, but Shakor asked him to drive a different car and follow behind him in case they needed multiple vehicles later to return to their hotel. Now, a rapper by the name of Yaqui Kadathi was riding in a car with bodyguards and members of the Death Row onthourized directly behind the BMW and later on, after this incident, took place. He completely refused to cooperate with police. But very interestingly, Kadafi, who was nineteen, was found dead from a gunshot wound in a New Jersey apartment building just two months after Shakur was found dead. And a lot of people think it's because he was a whiitness to all of that, and they were concerned he was going to talk. So, despite his injuries and a flat tire, gunshots ring out and Knight is able to drive the BMW a mile away to Las Vegas Boulevard, where they were once again pulled over by bike officers, this time obviously shot. The police officers go up to the vehicle.

10:23 Night steps out of the vehicle and says, tupas been shot. He's hurt and I've been shot as well. Police call paramedics to the scene and Knight in Shakur. They're taken to University Medical Center at Southern Nevada. A Death Room music video producer he visited Shakur at the hospital later, and he reported that he received news from a Death Room marketing employee that the shooters had called the record label and threatened Shakur told the Las Vegas police, but said they claimed to be understaffed, no attackers came to the hospital, and some other things. I notice Shakur did say he was dying while being carried into the emergency room.

11:08 So at the hospital, Shakur they actually had to heavily sedate him and he was placed on life support machines, and ultimately he was put into a medically induced coma after repeatedly trying to get out of bed. Tough guy, very tough guy. So we're going to move along to September eighth through the thirteenth of nineteen ninety six, and suge Knight was released from the hospital the day after the shooting, but he didn't even speak until about three days later. He then told investigators he heard something but saw nothing on the night of the shooting, and a lot of people to this day think that's bullshit and he's just not talking street law, right, y'all, you don't snitch.

11:55 A spokesperson for the officer said Night's statement did nothing to help the investigation. Obviously. Officers at the time of Tupac's hospitalization reported having no leads in Las Vegas Police Department. Sergeant Kevin Manning said during the week that officers didn't receive a whole lot of cooperation at all from tupacs entourage. Again, street law, you don't talk, don't make it right. But you can expect that members of Shakur's group, the Outlaws, they guarded Shakur while they stayed at the hospital. A lot of people were worried about that whoever shot him was going to come back to finish the job.

12:36 Now. While in the critical care unit, on the afternoon of Friday, September thirteenth, nineteen ninety six, Shakur did die of respiratory failure that led to a heart attack after the removal of his right lung, doctors attempted to revive him but could not stop the hemorrhaging. His mother, a Feeni, made the decision to cease medical treatment and he was pronounced dead at four to three pm. So an investigation starts are trying to figure out who did this, and some time passes about roughly about eight months, and on March ninth of nineteen ninety seven, the notorious Big Is shot and killed in Los Angeles, and that shooting, which is widely believed to have been connected to Tupac's murder, remains unsolved to this day. And that's pretty mind boggling. I mean, these are these two guys were the biggest guys in Rap at that time, millions and millions of dollars each.

13:45 And neither one of those cases were solved. And both of those were done in public. These weren't like they were sleeping in the middle of the night and someone broke in their house. These were done in freaking public, and neither one is solved. And I guarantee you you people know who killed both of these people. A lot of people know that, but. Street law right, and it's definitely been hypothesized that Notori's big was killed in payback for Tupac Shakur being killed, And even way back then people had an idea that Diddy had something to do with Tupac's murder. But the investigation goes on, and now they're investigating both of these cases.

14:32 And in nineteen ninety seven, which is about a year after the shooting, Sergeant Manning, who headed the investigation, he comes out and he says that Shakur's murder may never be solved. Also in nineteen ninety seven, Shakur's mother files a wrongful death lawsuit against Orlando Anderson. Now the Las Vegas PD. They briefly considered Andersen a suspect, and they even interviewed him once. Anderson, which was reportedly one of the occupants of the Cadillac, was killed in a gang related shooting not long after that. In May twenty ninth of nineteen ninety eight, an officer from the Compton Gang Unit said that Anderson's murder was due to a disagreement over drug money with a rival gang and it was not related to the Shakur case. Now, let's talk about this real quick. They were obviously investigating Orlando Anderson, and the guy who was kind of leading this for the LAPD at that time, he is adamant that Orlando Anderson killed Tupac. I mean, it would make sense. They get in a fight at the MGM Grand Orlando Anderson gets a beat down. And Orlando Anderson was a street guy.

15:51 Look Tupac, tough guy, very tough guy. Maybe he had some hands, but he was a little bitty dude. And not only that, you know, he was a rich rapper, kind of spoiled I mean, and rightfully so. Most talented rapper of all time in my opinion. He's not a fighter. I mean he may be down to fight, but someone like Orlando Anderson, this is a street guy, this is a cripp and he's been fighting his whole life and he is about it. You hear me, he ain't gonna let that slide. He ain't gonna get a beat down in public by the entire entourage of death row records and just let it slide. The police believe that the LAPD investigator that was investigating this case longer than anybody else believed that a guy by the name of Greg Keating.

16:45 Many believe that Orlando Anderson killed Tupac. The problem is, as I just told you, he died on May twenty ninth of nineteen ninety eight, and so the police officers that believe that they the case is closed at that point, right, the murderer is dead now. But let's back up, because this is gonna blow your mind. Before he died, as a matter of fact, it was in September of nineteen ninety seven, Orlando Anderson files a lawsuit against Tupacs a state for damages. He says he suffered in a brawl with the rapper at the MGM Grand So Tupac's dead, But obviously and if you know anything about what happened after Tupac died, his value went through the roof. He was already making a ton of money, but when he died, man his album selves blew up hundreds of millions of dollars and just royalties and all these things. And Orlando Anderson he wanted some money for getting.

17:43 That beat down. Right. Well, Tupac's mother of Phoenie Shakur, she actually turns around and files a wrongful death lawsuit against Anderson. The police were telling her, we think this is the guy that killed Tupac, and she files that lawsuit. He didn't have no money. I think it was more for a statement than anything else, and to get him not to sue her or not to sue Tupac's estate, which she was. In control of. So let's move on. And as I told you, on May twenty ninth, Orlando Anderson gets shot and killed. And at that point he was never actually charged in Tupac's murder, although the police did believe he did it, they don't have any evidence really outside of just a belief. Then in April of twenty nineteen, Dwayne Keith Davis known as Keith d who is one of two living eye witnesses left to the shooting, if you count Knight. Sug Knight, who is currently in prison.

18:46 He releases a book and it's called Compton Street Legend. So that book comes out and he does a lot of talking about that shooting, and detectives take notice of all the things he was saying. It was probably the big mistake he made as of late, and they start reinvestigating this case behind the scenes. Then, on July seventeenth of twenty twenty three, Las Vegas police conduct a court authorized search of kvd's residence in Henderson, Nevada, in connection with Tupac's homicide. Among the items the seas are computers, hard drives, and magazine articles about Tupac and his death. Then, on September twenty eighth of twenty twenty three, Davis gets indicted by a Clark County grand jury on one count of open murder with use of a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement. He is the only living suspect in the homicide investigation. Everybody else in that car is dead.

19:48 Right. It's a short indictment. It's just a page and a half. And here's how that reads. So the indictment was filed as I said, on September twenty ninth of twenty twe twenty three, and it says the defendant above named Dwayne Keith Davis, accused by Clark County Grand Jury of the crimes of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang, which is a category A felony, was committed at and within the County of Clark, State of Nevada, honor, about the seventh day of September nineteen ninety six, as follows, did willfully, unlawfully and knowingly for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in affiliation with, a crime gang, the South Side Compton Cripps, which had as one of its common activities engaging in criminal activities of the conduct which constitutes the primary offense. And the defendant, with specific intent to promote, further or assist the activities of the south Side Cryps with malice, kill Tupacur, a human being with use of a deadly weapon a firearm, by shooting and into the body of.

Killing him having been willful, deliberate, and premeditated the defendant being criminally liable under one or more of the following principles of criminal liability by directly committing this crime, by aiding or betting in the commission of this crime with the intent that this crime be committed, by counseling, encouraging, hiring, commanding, inducing, and or otherwise procuring the other to commit the crime. Defendant obtaining a firearm for the purpose of seeking retribution against Tupac Shakur and or Marion Knight aka Shug And while in a vehicle with Terrence Brown aka Bubble Up, and or DeAndre Smith aka Big Dre, and Orlando Anderson aka Baby Lane, did provide said firearm to DeAndre Smith aka Big Dre, and or Orlando Anderson aka Baby Lane with the intent to commit the crime. Let's talk about this.

22:15 They're not saying in this indictment, and this is why I read this that kefd killed Tupac. As a matter of fact, it says just the opposite. It says that either Baby Lane, Orlando Anderson, or Big Dre DeAndre Smith killed Tupac. And there's a lot of people out there that think Big Dre did it. Not the police. The police believed baby Lane did it. But the streets talk and a lot of the people in the streets say big Dre did it. However, and I'll use this as an example. If I rob a bank and my best friend drives me to that bank, and I rob it, We get in the car, we drive off.

23:01 The police catch us. Guess what, even if he just sat in the car the whole time, he's culpable and he's getting charged with bank robbery just like me. Even though he didn't actually rob the bank. He provided the vehicle and the getaway. For the crime. What this indictment clearly says is that the gun was provided. The gun that was used to kill Tupac was provided by keithy d And how they got that information he said it in his own words, and you can dig it up out there. He claims he had a profit agreement. And what a profit agreement mean, y'all, is you get questioned by the police, you sign basically an agreement that says, hey, you tell us, you give us information we want, and whatever you tell us, we're not going to prosecute you for We're going to give you a pass. So he claims he had a profit with the law Vego's police department.

24:01 And that's why he felt so comfortable about talking about this in a book and on podcasts and things like that. And we'll get into that. As I said on September twenty ninth, Davis gets arrested on the murder charge while on a walk near his home. And there's a lot more to what became kevd's undoing. And first of all, he pretty much screwed himself by writing that book. And he also went on a lot of podcasts, as I just said, and in those podcasts. He would be well, let's just say, very detailed. He mentions Puff many times in those podcasts, and it's been long speculated by this point that Diddy was involved and the biggie was killed, as I said, as payback for POC's murder. So here he is on Vlad's podcast.

24:51 This is way back. In twenty nineteen, and he actually talks about pulling up on Pock and Sug the day Poc was shot. And here's that collup. So let's talk about what happens next. You know, based on what the book says, Zip gave you a glock. Gave you guys a glock, and you guys tossing in the back seat and bubble up was a driver and baby Lane and freaky we're in the back seat. We were just all in the card again. This was the white Cadillac. Okay, So you guys are driving around and then you hear these girls say, Tupac, Tupac.

25:36 No, we're coming up. What's her name? What's that Formingo? Yeah? I think that's Formingo. He's coming up from Ingo and after the light he's going to go drank and smoked weed. And he happened to be hanging out the window. He's hanging out the window like he was in parat Tupac. Yeah, he was. So what happens next? And we just came and shit, I ain't gonna go into the details like that, you know what I'm saying. But uh, you know you got it in a book. You didn't played it everything else, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, Well, in the book you said that as you're driving up towards the towards the BMW with Sugar driving in Tupac in the passenger seat, and you said the Tupac pulled out a gun.

26:35 It looked like he was reaching. Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah. Did you actually see a gun. Oh shit, once you got the reagion, I got the dunking. So someone from your car, that's what I started shooting at Tupac and shook. Plane starts to blasting. You say it should looks over he sees you. Yah, he looks right at you. When he looks over at you, and then you know Tupac's busy getting shot evident. The story is Tupac is trying. To either get out in the seat or something. Yeah, what do you see happening in. I've seen him book going sure, yeah, I thought he was dead. He did so Orlando start across dra He leaned over on the window, rode down. The window was popping.

27:30 They would rove on outside. I was pumping, you know what I'm saying. But they was on the other side, right. I'm not gonna go into details on that one. Keep your streets on me. I ain't gonna go into detail on that. I'm gonna go ahead and read from the book. Well, so let him buy the book. Okay, Well, I'm just gonna read that this passage, uh, the ship was on. Tupac made an erratic move and began to reach down beneath his seat. It was the first and only time in my life that I could relate to the police command, keep your hands where I could see them. Instead, Pock pulled out a strap and that's when the fireworks started. One of my guys from the back seat grabbed the clock and started busting back. The first shot skin Shug in the head, and I thought that motherfucker was dead. I had heard some stories supposed that Tupac that Shug used. Tupac is a shield when the bulls start flying. Without some bullshit, Shug was already wounded and he was the one that got touched.

28:25 As the rounds continued flying, I ducked down so I wouldn't get hit. Basically, yeah, white Cadillac arm came out the back seat and started letting off. What went through your head when you saw that they shoot my nigga? So the bullets started Flyingac, Tupac, and Shook's car get all shot up? Was there And I'd heard different versions of the story, but the one version I heard was that the other that they're on why I started shooting back. Basically, Yeah, does anyone from the death row side return fire?

29:07 Yes? Okay, can you see who that was? Yeah, he's no longer with us. His name was Bunchree but want to show his right hand guy, our good friend Alan McDonald. He chased the car down. He also received one gun shot to his his vehicle. His car was shot. He had a black Toyota Super and him and another guy returned shots at that car. Yeah, and they ain't saying, ain't left their guns at home? No, they Yeah, they started shooting back. And so some chicks was in the sea breeze started following a white sea breeze right top sea breeze.

29:50 Why were the girls following you guys? I don't know, that's crazy, but. I guess the window got shot out. From yeah, and they stopped following you at that point. I've talked to a couple of people that were there about the situation, and from what they told me was that, you know, you guys came up. You know, the car that you were in came up behind Tupac's car. You guys, didn't the cars were not facing each other, No, they they were not facing each other. You guys got a parallel to them behind them, and you know when you look at side by side, so how would you even see Tupac reach for anything?

In this same podcast, Blaad asked him how he knew uh Diddy and Shug. You know, how did Keith d come to know these guys? And he was a nipe and buck right, And here's what that sounded like. But you're still not involved in any sort of music industry shit at all. They're just you're making money, You're living your life. But then you met Eric von zet Martin, who was close friends with Puffy. Yeah, yeah, uh, basically I met Puffy before Zip. He had called up our hydraulic place and has to use a low rider. That's when Usher first did his first video Can I Get with You? So I went up to took my low writer up there and ship Usher was usher first video. Puff was driving the car and.

31:34 Stuff like that. That's when I met Puffley originally. Then he ended up messing up the car. Yeah, Usher dancing all over the hood and stuff. So we had to repaint the whole. Car and Puffy paid. Puffy paid for them. Yeah it was a candy paint, so he paid like forty four hundred to get it repainted, because you got to paint the whole car. Yeah. So then a few months later he gave a party at the l Ray. And we ran and uh. We used to re zipped that night and uh Zip was with uh Danna Dang Danda Dan. They pulled up in this old ass le uh legend. I'm like, damn, he's starving, uh. Danna Dane and the dude green eyes from uh Hoodini they pulled here. He was in the green range over.

32:19 So we went all up there to the VIP and stuff like that. And then I made Puff that night and Puffs Ryan s acting all drunk and stuff. We was all in our PRIONI and flying with his Sazi suits and shit, and this motherfucker uh. Acting drunk, spilled this little shit all over yellow. Oh Jory pro like damn this, you. Know, acting like a little kid and stupid. You know, you know how he at. You know what I'm saying. He put a lot on the shit, you know. And us competing brothers is uh more laid back smooth dudes. You know. Yeah, Okay, so you meet Puffy, you know, you guys do the the thing for the usher video. Yeah. Uh, but you guys don't really have a relationship then nah, but then you may that Eric von Zip Martin.

33:02 Yeah me and then while yeah me, uh him and this due Richie Rich. He was not the Richie Rich was the rapper from the Bays different. Yeah. I just wanted to make that clip the real. Riggie Rich not no rapper, a gangster, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, Okay, see you meet von Zippen. What starts to happen next? Uh we started moving, moving work and stuff like that, and uh, him and Richie Rich would come down every once in a while give give big work and stuff like that. Okay, So von Zip was a drug was an East Coast drug connecting Yeah, okay, okay, two pockets out of prison. Yeah, and he starts to go crazy on bad Boy No.

33:51 Before Tupac got out of prison, they had a summer jam and uh, Biggie had that song One More Chance. It was the hottest song a fucking chart and it was at Irvine Medows. We went up there where they had a little violent stage. So he was up there. We had on our little cowboys shitoo jamming with him. He played more dangerous who shot you and uh, one more chance. So the stage went around, he did his little three songs. We went around. Sugar was waiting over there on the side over there. You know what I'm saying. So he was like, kiv D how you know them motherfuckers? Same way? I know you are fucking you know what I'm saying. Shit, So yeah he was. He had uh, I stilled him getting jealous of them dudes. Then you know what I'm saying. Yeah, okay.

34:37 And although we stopped short of saying he got paid from Diddy for the murderer Park, he did discuss Park reaching out after the killing to talk to him about it. And here's what that sounded like on flads podcast. In the book, he said, the third day after getting back from Vegas, you guys met up with Zip in l A at Wayne at Wings stopped. Its wings stop at all hot wings Wings. Yeah. Yeah, and I guess you said the puffy puffy call and said, was that us? And you didn't say nothing. I didn't say nothing.

Apparently there was supposed to be a million dollars that Zip was supposed to bring back, but he ended up keeping the money and buying a nightclub with it. That's what the FBI said. The FBI said that, Yeah, you guys never got any money, never for anything. Nothing, not even a pair of Sean John draws. You know what I'm saying, that's crazy. It seemed like Puff do that though. He uh seemed like every time something go around here, he looked like it's some ship on the grass and step around us and you get away from that bullshit.

36:02 Okay. Yeah, well you talked about how you made a crucial mistake by having a big meeting in the neighborhood. It wasn't in the neighborhood. We it was out of park, outside of. The neighborhood, okay, and in Sorita's Yeah, okay, And what was the what was the mistake that you made? I said, I was just gonna get some bread from Puffs. You get us some guns, cause they kept on raiding our houses taking our guns. And there was informants that was listening to this whole conversation. Yeah, they was there. Exactly, and they reported that's that back. Yeah. I wish you could uh enter fbis. They don't uh, they don't do shit like this. You know what I'm saying.

36:49 Greg Kye. He was just a la detective, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, he act like he made me grumbled and all that. He he didn't make me grumble. It's it's it's my friends around me. They took me down. Right, because, well, your whole life is being turned upside down at this point. You have you had this. Multi million operation done, you know FBI, you know, well police raids, you know, guns being taken. People started to turn informant and turning against you. It was that that one event changed everything in your life. How stressed out were you during this time?

37:30 I was just watching my ass more more more unlikely. You know, well, Sug because of that fight, Sug was looking at violating his probation.
